Richard Lee Griswold
PLYMOUTH — Richard Lee Griswold, 61, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, son Christopher (Robin) Griswold of Bremen, daughter Angela
Sue (Jeff) DeVault of Plymouth, six grandchildren, his father Kenneth Griswold of Bremen,
brother Kenneth Griswold of Bremen and sister Carol Houshour of Rochester.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services, at Mishler Funeral
Home, Bremen.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at the funeral home, officiated by Mike Martin.
Burial will be at Bremen cemetery. A graveside military service will be held.
Memorials may be made to the Bremen VFW Post 8972.
Kenneth L. Mitschelen
MILFORD — Kenneth L. Mitschelen, 82, of Woodview Dr. Nappanee, died Tuesday, Dec. 30,
2008 at 11: 20 a.m. at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Milford.
He is survived by his wife Norma; daughter, Dixie (Max) Shrock of Goshen; a son, Chuck
(Darcey) Mitschelen of Nappanee; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin
(Arlene) Mitschelen of Edinburg, Texas; a sister, Doris (James) Yoder of Newton, Kan. and an
aunt, Ruth Mellinger of Elkhart.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Nappanee Fire Department.
Helen M. Schrader
PLYMOUTH — Helen M. Schrader, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 in Miller’s Merry Manor.
She is survived by two sons: Raymond (Sue) Schrader of Mishawaka, and Ronnie Schrader of
Oregon. No services are being held at this time. McGann Hay Funeral Home, South Bend, is in
charge of the arrangements.
Michael D. Trott
KOONTZ LAKE — Michael D. Trott, 40, of Koontz Lake, Idied Tuesday, Dec. 30, in Starke
Memorial Hospital, Knox.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Shock, and three daughters: Abigail, Riley and Logan Trott; his
mother, Mary Ellen Trott of South Bend and one sister, Kathleen Trott of South Bend.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. EST and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the
funeral home.
Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. Eastern at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Burial will be at the Grovertown cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Michael Trott Memorial Fund at any Teacher’s Credit
Union.
Dwight Allen Thomas
ARGOS — Dwight Allen Thomas, 56, of Argos, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at 5: 20 p.m. at
his residence, following a short illness.
He was born December 11, 1952 in South Bend to Kenneth Earl and Ruth Mildred (Ditmire)
Thomas. He had lived in the Argos community for the last 21 years, coming from South Bend.
He married
Thresa “Terri” Baker on August 7, 1982 in Niles, Mich. He was a Plant Supervisor at
Standard Motor in Mishawaka, since 2004 and he also worked at Ziebart. Before this he worked
in Argos at Ristance/Dana Corp.
He graduated from Jackson High School in South Bend with the class of 1971. He served his
country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman from August 29, 1972 to March 1, 1974.
He continued to serve in the United States Army Reserves being Honorably Discharged on
August 28, 1978.
He earned a Bachelors of Business Management from IUSB. He was a faithful supporter of
D.A.V. and V.F.W. and a member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church, Lakeville, Indiana.
Dwight was a huge Indiana University basketball and Notre Dame football fan. He loved Argos
basketball and taking his grandchildren with him, working in his garden, and mowing his lawn.
Survivors includ his wife; Terri Thomas of Argos; son Bryan Thomas and wife Cynthia of
Rochester; daughter Laura M. Thomas and fiance Max Colon of Mishawaka; two grandchildren;
Taylor L. and Alexus L. of Rochester; his mother, Ruth Thomas of South Bend and brother,
Mark R. Thomas and wife Deborah of Osceola.
He was preceded in feath by his father, Kenneth Earl Thomas.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 4-8 pm at the Earl-Grossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the funeral home with Barry R. Borst
officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date
