Florence May Schrader
ROCHESTER — Florence May Schrader, 95, of Rochester, died at 3: 30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.
17, 2008 at the home of her niece.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Koczan of South Bend; three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services are Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester,
with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery, Mexico.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County or the First Presbyterian Church
Building Fund.
Maegen Mariah Noelle Hiatt
ROCHESTER — Maegen Mariah Noelle Hiatt, was stillborn Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at 5: 46
p.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by her parents Michael and Julie Hiatt of Rochester; sisters: Maddison, Mikayla
and Mallory; brother, Peyton; grandparents: Jim and Cindy Weaver of Grabill and Gene and
Ruth Hiatt of Rochester; great-grandmothers: Phyllis Gawthrop of Columbia City and Norma
Weaver of Rochester.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
The Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of the arrangements.
Robert R. Wilcox
MONTEREY — Robert R. Wilcox, 80, of Monterey, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at Starke
Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wilcox of Monterey; daughter, Carol (Roger) Chapman of
Monterey; son-in-law, Dan Lykins of Albion, Mich.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;
brother, William Wilcox of Knox; and sisters: Ida Budde of Florida, Edna Rance of Logansport,
Caroline Blankenship of North Judson and Kathryn Regalado of North Judson.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Funeral
services are Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Highland
cemetery.
Francis "Frank" Adams
KNOX — Francis “Frank” Adams, 59, of Ruskin, Fla., formerly of Knox, died Friday, Dec. 19,
2008 in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters: Renda Riley and Kerry Buscemin, both of Portage
and Heather Novosel of Cedar Lake; son, Kevin Adams of Portage; seven grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and brother, Lonnie Adams of LaCrosse.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 28 at noon CT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Visitation is Saturday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. CT and Sunday one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the hospice of choice.

BREMEN — Sherry Ann George, 56, of Bremen, died at 4: 36 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at
Hospice House, South Bend.
She is survived by her husband, Dale George; daughter, Brittney Lynn (Adam) Jones of
Mishawaka; mother, May Darlene Hawkins of Nappanee; and brother, Danny Ralph Hawkins of
Altus, Okla.
Visitation is Sunday, Dec. 21 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, Nappanee. Funeral services are Monday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial
will be at Hepton Union cemetery.

Robert J. Wikman
CULVER — Robert J. Wikman, 84, of Culver, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at 7: 10 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Lori of Culver; a son, John (Kelly) Wikman of Greenwood, Ind.; four
daughters: Dr. Leona Coffelt of Sacramento, Cali., Diana Wikman of Montrose, Colo., Joan
(David) Smith of Rancho Cordova, Calif. and Sonya Conroy of Kankakee, Ill.; a brother, Jack
(Rosa) Wikman of Phoenix, Ariz. and a granddaughter.
Visitation will take place Monday, Dec. 22 from 3 to 8 p.m. EDT at Bonine-Odom Funeral Home
with a spiritual wake at 7: 30.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, Dec. 23 at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church,
Culver at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Zion cemetery in Culver.
Memorials may be given to Marshall County Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.

Daisy Christine Jones
FORT WAYNE — Daisy Christine Jones, 87, of Wabash Avenue, Rochester, died Saturday,
Dec. 20, 2008 at 1 a.m. at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by three sons: James E. Jones of Sanford, N.C., Donald M. (Geneva) Jones of
Jackson, Ky., Jerry L. (Tani) Jones of Riverton, Utah; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; a brother, Harry (Joan) Wray of Kokomo; a sister, Onita
Brass of Crossville, Tenn. and a special friend, Doug Blackburn of South Bend.
Visitation will take place Monday, Dec. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home,
Rochester and one hour prior to the funeral services.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at IOOF cemetery, Rochester.

Ruth Lillian Kerns
NORTH JUDSON — Ruth Lillian Kerns, 80, of North Judson, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008.
She was born Tuesday, July 31, 1928 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Octave P. Valiquet and the late
Mary Lillian Dreyer.
She married
the late Damon Kerns who passed away Jan. 5, 1996, in Jasper County, Ind. Feb. 8, 1947.
Kerns was a member of the St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and was a housewife.
She was an avid golfer, pinochle player, bowler and gardener.
She is survived by four daughters: Karen (Ray) Bachert of South Bend, Ind., Jo Anne (Frank)
Vitallo of San Pierre, Ind., Kristeen (Randy) Kafantaris of Walkerton and Kathleen (Bob) Lynch of
Plymouth; two sons: Damon Kerns of North Judson, Anthony E. (“Rusty” Kim) Kerns of North
Judson; two sisters: Mary Ellen Nielson of North Judson and Lillian (Kenneth) Cervenka of North
Judson; a brother, Edmund (Karen) Valiquet of Culver, Ind.; a grandchild; 16 grandchildren and
21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Kasten; brother-in-law, Roland Nielson and a
grandson, Thomas F. Potempa Jr.
Visitation will take place Monday, Dec. 22 at Braman and Bailey Funeral Home, 6020 S.
Oakwood Ave., North Judson from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will take place at St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church, Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 11
a.m. with Rev. Terry Bennis officiating.
Burial will follow at Sr. Jacob’s cemetery, North Judson.
Donald P. Wolferman
SYRACUSE — Donald P. Wolferman, 78, of Milford, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at 5: 40 a.m.
at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
He was born Sept. 10, 1930 in Milford to Earl and Mabel (Gunderman) Wolferman.
He married
his wife of 58 years, who survives, Sue Wiggs, Aug. 20, 1950. Wolferman was a
lifetime Milford resident, a school bus driver and farmed since 1948.
Wolferman attended Wawasee Community Bible Church, was a member of the Milford Lions
Club, the Masonic Lodge, the Mizpah Shrine and was a former member of the Milford Town
Board and a 1948 graduate of Milford High School where he was known for his athletic ability.
He is survived by his wife Sue of Milford; two daughters: Deb (Walt) Pickerell of Plymouth and
Darcy (Dennis) Hively of Syracuse; a son, Doug (Kristy) Wolferman of Syracuse; eight
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, “Fritz” Wolferman.
Visitation will take place Monday, Dec. 22 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral
Home, 461 W. 900 N., Milford, Ind.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor
Tom Speicher officiating.
Burial will follow at Milford cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Milford Lions Club or the Kosciusko County Cancer Fund.

KOONTZ LAKE — Marie Elizabeth Thompson, 72, of Koontz Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008
in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Thompson; daughters: Patti (Doyle) Minix of Ft.
Wayne, Shari (Dave) Schadek of Plymouth and Kathleen Thompson of Seminole City, Fla.; five
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and sisters: Joan (Leonard) Dupree of Plano, Texas and
Marguerite (Richard) Greene of Mishawaka.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at 10 AM EST at St. Michael's Catholic
Church of Plymouth. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be given to The American Cancer Society.

Alexander J. Arneson
BREMEN — Alexander J. Arneson, 86, of Bremen, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; sons: Douglas (Kathy) of Highland, Calif. And Eric of
Mishawaka; daughters: Theresa of Joliet, Ill. And Beth (Greg) Balka of Bremen; six
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to the St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Food Pantry.

FT. MYERS, Fla. — Robert G. Brown II, 57, formerly of South Bend, died Dec. 21, 2008 at his
home in Ft. Myers.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Brown and Robert Brown, both of Knox and Gary Brown of
Culver; his mother, Elsie Joann Brown of Knox; sisters, Laura Brown of Portage and Linda
Brown of Plymouth; brothers, David of Pittsboro and John and Aaron of Knox.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m. (CDT) at the Grovertown cemetery.

Evelyn E. Kopanski
WALKERTON — Evelyn E. Kopanski, 84, of Walkerton, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008. She was
born to Leon and Stella Lasocha on Aug. 22, 1924 in Chicago, Ill. She was a lifelong resident of
the Walkerton area. On Nov. 19, 1961, she married
Vincent Kopanski. He preceded her in death
in May of 1969.
Evelyn loved gardening and was a hard worker. She enjoyed traveling and was caring and
nurturing to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Evelyn was a member of the St.
Joseph County Farm Bureau and Riley Road Homemakers Extension Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Darrin) Tolleson of North Liberty; a grandson, Vincent;
one brother, Eugene Lasocha of Walkerton; a niece, Karen (LeRoy) Lasocha-Norman of Fort
Wayne; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Wallis; and two nephews: John and Dennis Wallis, all of
Chicago. Lifelong friends include Ruth Rensberger of Plymouth and Berniece Jensen of LaPorte.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. (EST) at the Nusbaum-Elkin
Funeral Home, Walkerton, with burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, Dec.
23 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

WAKARUSA — Clara May Moneyheffer, 89, of Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee, died at 5 p.m.

She is survived by daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Goldie) Weldy of Bremen and Mrs. Ben (Foretta)
Liniger of Milford; 22 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and
sisters: Mrs. Bernice Hollar of Nappanee, Mrs. Alvin (Mildred) Elliott of Goshen and Mrs. Joseph
(Lulu Jean) Kirkpatrick of Cannon, Ky.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder,
Nappanee. Funeral services are Saturday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be
at South Union cemetery, Nappanee.
