ARGOS — Janice Howard-Collins, 68, of west Marshall Road, Argos, died Sunday, Nov. 16 at
2: 15 a.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester following a one-year illness.
She is survived by four sons: Tim Brock of Culver.; Marty Brock and wife Sherri of Culver; Jack
Moriarty and wife Jeanetta of Argos and Galen “Nat” Moriarty and wife Sarah of Bourbon; a
daughter, Launa (William) Fields of Hazard, Ky.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren;
three brothers: Harold Dean (Maridean) Howard of Rochester, Denton (Gloria) Howard of
Jonesboro, Ind. and Olin (Betty) Howard of Argos and one sister, Claudette (Hobart) Stevens of
Lakeville.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Nov. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Plymouth Church of Jesus
Christ, at the corner of 12th road and U.S. 31, Argos.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the church with burial to follow at Maple
Grove cemetery, Argos.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family at Collins Memorial, 208 N. Michigan St.,
Argos, IN 46501
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Rose Barton
WALKERTON — Rose Barton, 96, died Monday, Nov.17, 2008 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
She is survived by daughter, Carole (Jack) Powers of Koontz Lake; son, Richard (Judith) Barton
of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. EST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. EST Thursday at the funeral home. Sunday, visitation
will be held in Sun City, Ariz. with Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at St. Clements Church,
Sun City, Ariz. Burial will follow at Sunland cemetery, Sun City, Ariz.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111
Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

Ronald A. Hershberger
EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Ronald A. Hershberger, 66, of Edwardsburg, Mich., formerly of
Nappanee, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at Lakeland Hospital, Niles, Mich.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hershberger; sons: Brian (Dwana) Hershberger of Syracuse
and Tony (Trish) Hershberger of Mentone; stepsons: Leslie (Nancy) Carriveau of Osceola and
David (Sherri) Carriveau of Jackson, Ohio; stepdaughter, Teresa (Todd) Hoffman of
Edwardsburg, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four
step great-grandchildren; and brothers: Jim (Nancy) Hershberger of Grand Junction, Ariz.,
Michael Hershberger of Mesa, Ariz. and Richard Hershberger of Syracuse.
Visitation is Thursday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Friday at
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services are Friday, Nov. 21
at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Center cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald Hershberger Memorial Fund.

Nancy A. Jaret
PLYMOUTH — Nancy A. Jaret, 69, of Plymouth, formerly of New Carlisle, passed away
Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth. Nancy was born March 6,
1939, in Wakarusa to Roscoe and Catherine (Dailey) Pittman. She retired from Canteen
Services in South Bend .
On May 27, 1973, as Nancy A. Pittman she married Casey J. Jaret who preceded her in death
on May 15, 2002. Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Jim) Seeley of Oxford, Miss.; son, Mark
(Toka) Clady of Lakeville; and daughter, Mystie (Bob) Pieters of Porter; five grandchildren:
Rodney & Sarah Seeley, Cody & Austin Clady, and Natalie Pieters; a sister, Carol Phillips of
Elkhart; and brothers: Dale (Sally) Pittman of Bremen, and Jim Pittman of Plymouth.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S.
Filbert St., New Carlisle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 in the Kaniewski
Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the New Carlisle cemetery.

Mary Lynn Nowakowaski
KNOX — Mary Lynn Nowakowaski, 53, of Knox, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at Golden Living Center.
She is survived by her father, Fred Nuelle of Effingham, Ill.; mother, Rose Nuelle of Effingham,
Ill.; daughters: Erica Nowakowaski of Mishawaka and Sarah Nowakowaski of Elkhart; brother,
John Nuelle of Effingham, Ill.; and sisters: Chris Detwiler and Carol Donsbach, both of
Effingham, Ill.
There will be no service. Cremation will take place.
Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox, is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet C. Price
WAKARUSA — Violet C. Price, 91, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee,
died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at 5: 25 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor.
She is survived by sister, Mary Walgamuth of Kalamazoo, Mich.; sister-in-law, Rosemary Eberly
of North Webster; and brother-in-law, Dean Price of Nappanee.
Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, Nappanee. Funeral services are Thursday, Nov 20 at 10: 30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Union Center cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Brethren Church or American Diabetes Association.

Randy L. Bowser
PLYMOUTH — Randy L. Bowser, 55, of 9680 Deer Trail, Plymouth, passed away suddenly at
5: 28 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Randy was born on Aug. 2, 1953, in Plymouth, to Donald and Donna Lee (Cripe) Bowser.
Randy, and his high school sweetheart, the former Ann Ruggles, were united in marriage on
May 27, 1972, in Plymouth. Together they raised their two daughters, Emily and Eileen. Randy
worked for the United Telephone Company and Sprint, for 34 years, before his retirement. While
at the telephone company he served on the Sprint Community Relations Team. After his
retirement he started his own company, “Bowser’s White Pines Woodworker”, and enjoyed
being a self employed carpenter, attending to the needs, whether large or small, of many people
in this community. Randy was also a dedicated member of the support staff of Van Gilder
Funeral Home. He also helped his brother-in-law, Jim Ruggles, repair instruments at the home
Notre Dame Games. He had been serving on the Marshall County Blueberry Board since1988,
belonged to the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, and worked with the Christmas in April
project. He was a very active and dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church, in
Plymouth, where he served on several boards and was a Church Elder. He sang with the choir,
and many times Randy, Ann, Emily, and Eileen would sing together, as a family.
He was a true “Plymouth boy” and supported Emily and Eileen with all of their activities during
their school years. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School in the Class of 1971. He and
Ann attended all of the Plymouth Pilgrims basketball home games, having the same reserved
seats for many years.
Family was a very important part of Randy’s life. He loved his family and they loved him.
Together they spent a lot of quality time laughing, loving, and just plain having fun. Those
wonderful memories will never be forgotten.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Ann; their daughters: Emily Bowser of Plymouth
and Eileen (Jeff) Taber of Mishawaka; the two little “joys of his life”, his granddaughters: Emma
Claire Welch and Elyse Isabelle Taber of Mishawaka; his father, Don Bowser of Plymouth; two
brothers: Rex and Joyce Bowser of Coatsville, and Roger and Beckey Bowser of Cassopolis,
Mich.; his mother-in-law, Betty Ruggles of Plymouth; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bev
Ruggles of Plymouth; his nieces and nephews; and his great-nieces and great-nephews. Randy
was recently preceded in death by his mother, Donna Lee Bowser, on Oct. 3, 2008.
Funeral services for Randy will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the FIRST
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 401 N. Walnut St., Plymouth, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Les
Johnson, the Rev. Dr. Ronald Liechty, and the Rev. Paul Nye officiating. Cremation will take
place after the funeral and burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth, at a later date.
A time of visiting with the Bowser family will be on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN,
46563, and on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, from 10 a.m. until the
time of the service, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the Bowser family would like for memorial contributions be given to a Trust
Fund at, First Federal Savings Bank, 2113 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN 46563, that has been
established for Randy’s granddaughters, Emma Claire Welch and Elyse Isabelle Taber’s,
college education.

Jim Saine
KNOX — Jim Saine, 36, of Knox, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.
He is survived by his mother, Clara Saine of North Judson; sisters: Gladys (Roger) Kapp of
Rochester, Jo Anne Eskridge of Knox and Debbie (Tim) Shireman of Hanna; and brothers:
Ralph (Lisa) Saine of Grovertown, Howard Saine of North Judson, Joseph Saine Jr. of Knox and
Tom Saine of Knox.
Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 23 from 2 to 6 p.m. CT at O’Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson.
Funeral services are Monday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at
Highland cemetery, North Judson.

Krista Ann Tolson
KNOX — Krista Ann Tolson, 16, of Knox, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008.
She is survived by her father, Sean Tolson of Knox; her mother, Teresa (Stamper) Tolson of
Knox; grandparents: Hager and Rose Tolson of Knox and Gene and Carol Stamper of Knox;
brother, Jonathan Tolson of Knox; and sisters: Tasha (Adam) Minix of Knox and Shauna Tolson
of Knox.
Visitation is Friday, Nov. 21 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Funeral
services are Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be at Crown Hill
cemetery.
Memorials may be made to 1st Source Bank in Krista’s name or to the family.

Eleanor L. (Zartman) Winrotte
THREE RIVERS, Mich. — Eleanor L. Winrotte, 81, of Three Rivers, Mich. died Tuesday, Nov.
18, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Greentown, Ind. on
May 4, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Alma (Fort) Zartman. She was a 1945 graduate of
Tyner High School in Tyner, where she was the recipient of the D.A.R. Good Pilgrimage Award
for the State of Indiana. She later attended Ball State University. Eleanor was married to Keith E.
Winrotte on Jan. 16, 1949 in Plymouth.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was an active volunteer and
officer in several churches. Eleanor was a volunteer with the P.T.A. She enjoyed sewing, making
stuffed animals and dolls, and attending area craft shows. She enjoyed travels with her husband
following their retirement.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Keith; two children: Rebecca Medich and Brian K. (Tina)
Winrotte, all of Three Rivers; five grandchildren: Heather Nicole Root, Ashley Michelle Root, and
Daniel Edward Root, Kimberly Ann Winrotte, and Amanda Jean Winrotte; four great-grandchildren;
one brother, Carroll (Shirley) Zartman of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by two brothers: Walter and Vance Zartman.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be
announced in the spring of 2009. Donations in her memory are suggested to UMCOR in care of
the United Methodist Church, 215 N. Main St., Three Rivers, MI 49093.
The family was assisted by the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers.

Pauline L. "Polly" Good
MONTEREY — Pauline L. "Polly" Good, 81, of Maple Street in Monterey, died Wednesday, Nov.
19, 2008 at 5: 25 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
She was born to Edward C. and Ida A. (Appler) Master in Monterey Aug. 1, 1927.
She was married to the late Lorin C. Good January 13, 1947 in Monterey. He died Aug. 8, 1969.
Polly was the owner and operator of Polly's Beauty Shop in Monterey and was an active member
and organist of the St. Anne's Catholic Church. She frequently played organ at other churches in
the area and was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Sodality.
Polly taught music in class at St. Anne's Catholic School in Monterey and served as secretary for
the American Legion Auxillary Post #399 in Monterey. She was president of the Pulaski County
Human Services Board of Directors and was an active member of the Monterey Birthday Club.
Polly had been a 4-H leader and was a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxillary. Her
family lovingly called her a "professional volunteer."
She was an avid Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Notre Dame fan. Polly loved to play golf and go
bowling. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and taking care of her flower garden.
Polly was a selfless friend to all she knew. She loves spending time with her family, especially
her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Master Trooper ISP Robert L. (Carla) Good of Tipton and Lt. Col.
USAF Charles L. Good of Kokomo.; three grandchildren: Andrea M. (Brad) Powell of Tipton,
Allison L. (Toby) Ripberger of Tipton and Tara R. Good of Kokomo; two sisters: Alberta
Wilcockson of Plymouth and Jean (Rowdy) Rensberger of Argos and two brothers: Karl (June)
Master and Jack (Carol) Master, all of Monterey.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward C. Master; mother, Ida A. (Appler) Master;
husband, Lorin C. Good; sisters: Dorothy Langenbahn, Wilma Kelsey, Martha Master and
brothers: Phil Master, Rudy Master and John Master.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 EST Sunday, Nov. 30 at Frain Mortuary, 305 E. Main St.,
Winamac. A rosary service will take place at 2: 30 p.m. EST on Sunday and a Scriptural Wake
Service will take place at 7: 30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Monterey, Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at
10: 30 a.m. EST with Rev. Bert Woolson officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Anne's cemetery, Monterey.
In lieu of plants, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Catholic Church, the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the American Cancer Society.
Frain Mortuary, Winamac, is in charge of arrangements.
