David R. Faber
PLYMOUTH – David R. Faber, 54, a resident of Indiana Ave., Plymouth, died at his home,
following a brief illness, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008.
David was born in Plymouth on Oct. 19, 1954, the son of John A. and Carol N. (Neidigh) Faber.
He was a 1974 graduate of Coral Gables High School, Coral Gables, Fla.
David, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, having served his country in the United
States Army in the DMZ as a Spec. 5 Joint Security courier messenger under the direction of the CIA.
He loved sailing, fishing local lakes and catching Reds in the open ocean. He was a metal
detecting enthusiast. He had biked across Europe and canoed throughout the state of Florida
with the Sea Scouts.
David is survived by his parents and two brothers: Douglas Faber of Atlanta, Ga., and Dan A.
and his wife Dale Faber of Montgomery, Ala.
Three nieces, Kristen Faber and Carol Ann Faber both of Baltimore, Md., and Eliose Faber, a
student at Auburn University in Alabama, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends,
survive as well.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl E. and Ethel Neidigh and John
P. and Florine Faber, paternal grandparents.
Friends are invited to share memories of David with his family on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, from 10: 30 a.m. until noon.
Funeral services for David will follow visitation at noon in the funeral home. Rev. Dan A. Faber,
David’s brother and the Minister of Missions at the Montgomery Trinity Presbyterian Church and
the Rev. Kerry O’Brien, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.
Members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 27 will provide military honors.
Burial will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

Beulah M. George
WAKARUSA — Beulah M. George, 83, of Wakarusa, died at 6: 30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008
at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She is survived by sons: Jim (Debbie) George of Wakarusa and Steve (Jeannine) George of
Middlebury; daughters: Jane George of Wakarusa and Sandy (Duane) Casteel of Wakarusa;
eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Carl “Wilb” Bollman of Frankfort; and
sisters: Lucille “Lucy” Gygi of Elkhart and Ruth Ann (Bill) Hartman of Syracuse.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to services Friday. Funeral services are Friday,
Oct. 31 at 10: 30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at South Union cemetery, Nappanee.
Memorials may be made to the Wakarusa Library.
Alice M. Gerrard
PLYMOUTH — Alice M. Gerrard, 86, of 1009 W. LaPorte St., Plymouth, passed away at 1: 07
p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Alice was born Nov. 5, 1921 in DeLong to Benjamin and Bertha (Johnson) Washburn. She
retired from American Optical, in Plymouth, and worked as a Title Clerk for the State of Florida.
She belonged to the Marshall County Mental Health Association for 10 years and for eight years
was the secretary of AARP. Alice was a member of the First United Church of Christ, in
Plymouth. She had lived in Plymouth from 1935 to 1976, moved to Florida from 1976 to 1988,
and then moved back to Plymouth.
Alice is survived by her son, David W. Gerrard of Plymouth; her grandchildren: James Gerrard of
Indiana, Amanda (Brian) Tobolski of Plymouth, Amelia Sickmiller of Argos, Eric Gerrard of
Lakeville, and Matthew (Jennifer) Gerrard of Illinois; and eight great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her sons: James F. Gerrard and Dennis R. Gerrard; her sister; and three
brothers.
Funeral services for Alice will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at 10: 30 a.m. at the VAN GILDER
FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill
cemetery, Plymouth.
A time of visiting with the Gerrard family will be Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the
VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
The family would like for memorial contributions be given to the First United Church of Christ,
321 N. Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Fred L. Richardson
TIPPECANOE — Fred L. Richardson, 77, of 1324 19th Road, Tippecanoe, died at 6: 35 a.m. Wednesday at home.
Born in Athens, he was the son of Talfred and Sylvia Werner Richardson.
He graduated from Talma High School in 1950.
On May 4, 1952, he married
Virginia R. Scott in Rochester, and she survives.
He served in the National Guard and was a lifelong farmer.
He retired from the Tippecanoe Volunteer Fire Department.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed a variety of other outdoor activities.
He liked to attend hit-and-miss engine and historic power shows.
In addition to his wife, Virginia Richardson, Tippecanoe, he is survived by two sons, Rick and wife Jana Richardson, Tippecanoe, and Randy and wife Darlene Richardson, Mentone; a sister, Katherine Kizer, Michigan; a brother, Bill and wife Donna Richardson, Schoolcraft, Mich.; two grandchildren, Crystal and husband Chuck Shafer and John Maahs; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Richardson, in 1988; a sister, Annabelle Kohl; three brothers, Bob, Cliff and James Richardson; and his parents.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Larry Kreft officiating.
Burial will be at Tippecanoe cemetery, Tippecanoe.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Donald G. Pletcher, 85, of 9877 South 750 West Claypool, Indiana died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Mason Health Care & Rehab Center of Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on January 27, 1925 Place of Birth: Kosciusko County, IN to parents Joseph Donald and Viola (Hauser) Pletcher.
He married
Dorothy J. Swick on May 10, 1945 in Warsaw, IN.
Don enjoyed listening to music and was also very interested in airplanes and motorcycles. Don was also known for his knack of tinkering with electrical gadgets. He retired from Zimmerman Inc.
Survivors include 1 Daughter: Carolyn and husband William Johnson Claypool, IN, 3 Sisters: Kate Weber, Illinois; Marjorie Hoover, Minnesota; Barbara Deck, Churubusco, IN., 2 Grandchildren: Troy and wife Anita Johnson, Warsaw, IN & Heather Slone, Claypool, IN and 5 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 Brother Jerry Pletcher.

Myrl Annis Crum
ARGOS — Myrl Annis Crum, 84, of 11654 West 18B Rd., Argos, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008
at 3: 50 p.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, following a week-long illness. He was born Oct.
25, 1924 in Burr Oak to Annis Victor and Ida Grace Crum.
He lived all of his life in the Marshall County area. On March 28, 1948, he married
Katherine
Miller on her family farm in Argos. She preceded him on Jan. 25, 1987. On Feb. 19, 1988 at the
Jordan Baptist Church in Argos, he married
Betty (Horton) Campbell. He was a pipe fitter and
plumber working at Bendix in South Bend where he retired in 1985.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II from 1945-1946 in the
3766th Quartermaster Truck Company where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He was a
member of the Jordan Baptist Church of Argos and a former member of the James Lowell
Corey, American Legion Post#68 of Argos. He graduated from Culver High School with the class
of 1944.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Crum of Argos; sons: Annis E. (Linda) Crum of Argos and
Richard R. (Donna) Crum of Argos; daughters: Paulette McCalvin of Argos and Patti (Rick)
Willis of Argos; stepdaughters: Julia (Pat) Grzesiak of Argos, Joyce (Bruce) Downs of South
Bend and Pamela (Brian) Calhoun of Plymouth; stepsons: Charles (Lisa) Campbell of Argos and
Freddie (Sandy) Campbell of Akron; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine step grandchildren;
two step-great-grandchildren; brothers: Paul (Lorraine) Crum of Culver, Ned
“Butch” (Diane) Crum of Kentucky and John (Vickie) Crum of Argos; and sister, Rosalyn Arndt of
JayEm, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Katherine; son, Myrl Crum Jr.; brothers:
LeRoy “Bus” Crum and Bruce Crum; and sister, Peggy Morris.
Friends may visit with the family Monday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct.3 at the
funeral home. Rev. Robert Rice and Rev. Thomas Tupps will officiate. Burial will be at New
Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Joy R. Replogle
BREMEN — Joy R. Replogle, 64, of Bremen, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; sisters: Mildred Lind of South Bend, Geneva (Jim)
McAfee of Plymouth, Connie (Jim) Marshall of Bremen and Janice Beane of Bremen; brothers:
Vernon Carothers of Bremen, Bill (Shirley) Carothers of Bremen, Noble (Helen) Carothers of
Bremen and Jack (Mary) Carothers of Lakeville; sister-in-law, Bonnie Carothers of Bremen;
stepdaughter, Tina Hollett of Bremen; and one granddaughter.
No services will be held.

Angela Marie Ellinger
BOURBON — Angela Marie Ellinger, 36, of Bourbon, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at Kosciusko
Community Hospital, Warsaw, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Ellinger of Bourbon; a daughter, Jacelyn Grace Ellinger
of Bourbon; three sons: Ellis David Whitt, Bradley Matthew Whitt and Jacob Nathaniel Whitt, all
of Bourbon; her parents: George and Rebecca Irvin of Bourbon and a brother, Jon Irvin of
Nappanee.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Nappanee Missionary Church,
70417 State Road 19.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. at the church with burial to follow
at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made for her children.
Neil A. Monahan
WALKERTON — Neil A. Monahan, 36, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 in Plymouth.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter, Calee; step-children, Kayla and Dylan; one stepgrandson;
his mother, Karin Monahan of Lawton, Okla.; one sister, Colleen Dyer of Tulsa, Okla.;
four brothers: John Monahan of Fairbanks, Ark., Brian Monahan of Malta, Ill., Ken Monahan of
(Koontz Lake) Walkerton and Quin Monahan of Savannah, Ga. and mother and father in-law,
Maxine and Gary Minard of Watseka, Ill.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of
Chatsworth, Ill. Family will receive friends at the home of Ken and Angie Monahan, Koontz Lake,
Saturday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. (CST).

Roy L. Snyder
PLYMOUTH – Roy L. Snyder, 76, a lifetime Marshall county resident, died of natural causes at
10: 58 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
He was born in LaPaz, Ind. the son of Solomon and Cacelia Boone Snyder, Aug. 29, 1932. He
attended LaPaz High School.
On September 22, 1956, in Rev. Colson’s parsonage in Plymouth, Roy and Lorena R. Lee were
married
.
A self-employed auto body repairman, he was interested in and enjoyed working on classic cars.
Roy is survived by, Lorena, his wife of 52 years and by their three sons: Lyle Snyder of Calif.,
Gail (Nora) Snyder of Bremen, Ind. and Neal Snyder, Union Mills, Ind.
Grandchildren Nathaniel, Amanda, Alyssa and Matthew Snyder, all of Bremen, survive as well.
A brother, Paul (Yvonne) Snyder, Bremen and a sister, Betty (Hilton) Bryant, Hammond, Ind.,
also survive.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Ray, Leo and Don Snyder.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to share memories and celebrate the life of Roy from 4 to
8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 and after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, Nov. 5 at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, and for one hour at the church prior
to the service on Wednesday.
Funeral services for Roy will be held at the Shiloh Wesleyan Church, 10532 4B Road, Plymouth,
where he attended worship services, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008. The Rev. John
Perkinson, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Laura Luella Williams
ROCHESTER — Laura Luella Williams, 70, of Rochester, died at 5: 32 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by her husband, Hermon; daughter, Idella (Bill) Beliles of Rochester; sons: William E. (Sheila) Smith of Rochester and Ricky D. Smith; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis Barrett of Rochester.
