Zachary Lee Flosenzier
PLYMOUTH — Zachary Lee Flosenzier, 10, died at 2: 35 p.m., on Friday, July 4, 2008, doing what he loved to do best, riding his motorcycle.
Zachary was born in Starke Memorial Hospital on January 25, 1998, the son of Vicki Whitaker Flosenzier, and Clayton Flosenzier, both of Plymouth.
Zachary would have entered the 4th grade this fall at Menominee Elementary School.
The young man’s passion was riding his motorcycle. He dreamed of becoming a professional racer and often competed at his sport at dirt tracks in the area.
He also enjoyed fishing and gardening with his grandfather, picking green beans and cutting big orange pumpkins. He loved to plant flowers and to see them grow and blossom.
Zachary is survived by his parents and by four sisters: Ashley and Alice, both of Plymouth and Brittany and Nicole of Statesville, N.C.
Also surviving are grandparents, Jack and Melenie Flosenzier, Plymouth and Ernest and Marlene Wilson of Grovertown.
Several aunts, uncles and cousins survive as well and he was an uncle to Brighton and Zachy Smith of Statesville.
Friends are invited to share memories of Zachary with his family from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2008 and continue after 7 a.m. on Friday, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008, in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to Zachary’s Funeral Fund.

Jack D. Klingerman
BOURBON — Jack D. Klingerman, age 74, of Bourbon peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 4 at 7: 17 a.m. in Goshen General Hospital. He had been in failing health.
He was born the son of Floyd Klingerman and Mabel Flory Klingerman on July 27, 1933 at Argos, Ind. He was a retired welder previously owning Klingerman Welding of Bourbon. He enjoyed drag racing and fishing in his past time.
He was also an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #130 and a member of the Bourbon American Legion Post #424. Jack was a Veteran of the united States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Jack was joined in marriage to Leah Ann Tracy on October 24, 1958. She passed away September 3, 1999.
He is survived by three children: Mark and wife Denise Klingerman of Bourbon, Tammie Klingerman of Warsaw and Tracy Klingerman of Bourbon. He was further blessed with three grandchildren: Aaron and Eva Klingerman, Stacy Klingerman and Austin Klingerman.
Jack also has three sisters: Betty and Kenneth Powell of Argos, Zada and Robert Border of Bourbon and Linda Rogan of Kenton, Ohio; two brothers: Larry and Lee Klingerman and Dan and Donna Klingerman all of Bourbon, along with his sister-in-laws, Jean Zehner of Monticello and Carolyn Sue Tracy of South Bend.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held Thursday, July 10 at 10: 30 a.m. in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon, Indiana with his son, Mark Klingerman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Bourbon, Ind.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to Care at Home Hospice of Goshen General Hospital, 200 High Park Avenue Goshen, IN 46526 or to the Cancer Association in his memory.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

David Walter Patrick
KNOX — David Walter Patrick, 68, of Knox, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Patrick of Knox; son, Matthew Toosley of Knox; daughters: Megan Heitz of LaPorte, Candice (Chris) Witten of North Judson, Melissa (Josh) Hansen of Hamlet and Tanya Patrick of Severville, Tenn.; brothers: Danny Patrick, James Patrick and Hebert (Marsha) Patrick, all of Knox; sisters: Shirley (Joe) Howell of Branson, Mo., Catherine Back of North Judson, Retha (William) Russell of North Judson, Daisy (John) Deeter of Logansport, Mary Jane Parish of Arkansas and Sharon Hopkins of North Judson; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services following at 1 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Burial will be at Eagle Creek cemetery.

William "Bill" Joseph Stokes
ROCHESTER — William "Bill" Joseph Stokes, 64, of Rochester, died July 4, 2008 at 1 a.m. at Memorial Hospital, South Bend following a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Sue, at home; his mother, Rosanne Stokes of Elwood, Ind.; three sons: Stephen Stokes and Lisa Rowe of Indianapolis, Christopher Stokes and Johanna Gautier of Rochester and Richard (Tracy) Stokes of Elwood; two sisters: Suellen Stokes of Anderson and LeAnn (Greg) Linsmyer of Elwood; eight grandchildren: Zachary, Owen, Jennifer, Shelby, Philip, Garrett, Angela and Brittany.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Wednesday, at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elwood cemetery, Elwood, Ind. at 2: 30 p.m. with military rites.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Window Fund.

Louise R. Keyser
BREMEN — Louise R. Keyser, 93, of Bremen, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Bremen Health Care Center in Bremen.
She is survived by three daughters: Jeanette Korman of Niles, Mich., Loretta Shrock of Bradenton, Fla. and Dori E. Keyser of New Paris; three sons: Wayne R. Keyser of Union, Mich., Warren Keyser of Seymore and Jack L. Keyser of Culver; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 7 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Bremen with burial to follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Hospice of Marshall County.

Howard “Smokie” Stutzman
PLYMOUTH — Howard “Smokie” Stutzman, 82, of Bourbon, died at 9: 30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2008, in the Pilgrim Manor Care Center, Plymouth.
Smokie was born at home November 10, 1925, in Leesburg, Ind., the next–to-youngest son of the 13 children of David D. and Ida Hostettler Stutzman.
The nine boys and four girls grew up on a 140-acre farm near Nappanee. Raised in a strict Amish family, the family spoke low-German. Smokie once said that they went to school to learn how to speak English.
None of the 13 Stutzman children remained in the Amish community, but Smokie agreed that they all learned value that permeated their lives.
Smokie lived in this area all of his life except for the 12 years he spent in Texas.
Of the entire family, only Smokie and an older sister graduated from high school. He earned his diploma while he was in the Navy.
Smokie had served his country in the United States Navy during WWII from Nov. 9, 1943 until May 3, 1946.
On Nov. 10, 1947, in Plymouth’s First United Church of Christ, Smokie and Patricia “Patty” Witham were married . From that day forward they did everything together.
They raised three children, served as longtime managers of the Plymouth Country Club, they owned and operated a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Texas from 1966 to 1977 and Patty’s Party Pack in Plymouth from 1985 to 1993.
Smokie was a respected and talented realtor for 16 years, retiring in 2000.
Married for 59 years, Patty died on August 27, 2006.
He was a member of the Plymouth Country Club, the Moose Lodge, the Plymouth VFW and Bourbon’s American Legion.
Smokie is survived by their children: a daughter, Rexalea Warren of Plymouth, and a son, Samuel Witham(Lori) Stutzman of Bourbon, along with five grandchildren: Christopher “Scooter” Warren and Jennifer Warren, both of Plymouth; Schuyler (Julie) Stutzman of Fort Wayne; Lindsay Stutzman and Savannah Stutzman, both of Bourbon. A sister, Barbara Swift, also survives.
Uncle Smokie leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Smokie was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; a son, Bill and 11 brothers and sisters: Jonas, Issac, Dan, Marvin, Joe, Eli, Delbert and Alvin, Alice, Alma and Sara.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Smokie will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, with one hour of calling prior in the church where he was a member, the First United Church of Christ, 321 N. Center St., Plymouth, with Pastor Steve Voelker, and Rev. Dr. Ronald Liechty officiating.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Smokie’s name may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.

Gladys Swihart
GOSHEN — Gladys Swihart, 86, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Goshen General Hospital.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Keyser of Plymouth and a brother, Otis (Elizabeth) Sailor of Noblesville, Ind.
Visitation will take place Monday, July 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, July 8 at 11: 30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Violett cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be made to First Brethren Church, Goshen

Irene Grimm
KNOX — Irene Grimm, 88, of Wintersong Village Nursing Home, Knox, died July 6, 2008 in the nursing home.
Survivors include one half-sister, Judy Ginn of St. Charles, Ill. and many great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT and Friday from noon until the time of services in the funeral home.

Donald J. Monesmith
BOURBON — Donald J. Monesmith, 83, of died Sunday, July 6 at 10: 30 a.m. in LuAnn Nursing Home of Nappanee.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; sons: Rex (Mary Lou) Monesmith of Avilla and Dennis Monesmith of Bourbon; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Marilee (Richard Holdeman) of Bourbon.
Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon with a graveside service following at 11: 30 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Bourbon.

Dorothy J. Vermillion
PLYMOUTH — Dorothy Jane Vermillion, 83, 2131 N. Oak Rd., Plymouth, died of natural causes in Pilgrim Manor, 222 Parkview St., on Monday, July 7, 2008.
Dorothy was a lifetime Plymouth resident.
She was born Oct. 2, 1924 to Melvin and Ella Earl Booker.
She attended Culver High School.
Married on May 12, 1941, to Clyde O. Vermillion, they enjoyed 67 years together.
She was employed for over 25 years at Wagner Wire in Plymouth.
A very active woman, Dorothy enjoyed camping, traveling and horseback riding. She baked, canned food and went motorcycling riding with her husband.
She is survived by her husband and their two sons: James A. and Dennis L. (Margaret) Vermillion.
Six grandchildren: Cindy and Dennis Overmyer, Lisa Vermillion, Chad and Kim Vermillion, Tracy Montgomery, Stephanie Bradley, Heather and Jeremy Houin. seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends and her faithful companion, Kayla, her beautiful poodle.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and two sisters. They are: Marion, Delma and Oscar Booker and Beulah Booker and Geraldine Shafer, and her daughter–in-law, Brenda Vermillion.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to celebrate Dorothy’s life from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Dorothy will follow visitation at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Dorothy’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society.

King Phillip, III Aitken
ELKHART — King Phillip Aitken III, 70, of Elkhart, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic in
Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 following a brief illness. Phil was born Jan. 31,
1938 in Yates Center, Kan.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine Aitken of Elkhart, and children: Rhonda (Mike) Erdelyi of
Plymouth, Pam (Buddy) Burns, of Indianapolis, and Mike Aitken of Bremen. Also surviving are
his step-children, Dave (Shelly) Balleau of Houston, Texas; Jeff (Sharon) Balleau of St. Louis,
Mo. and Mike Balleau of Wichita, Kan.
Surviving as well are 14 grandchildren, his mother, Maxine E. Aitken of Dodge City, Kan. and his
sisters: Sandie (Eddie) Shipley and Susan (Ron) Johnson, of Tucumcari, N.M. Phil was
preceded in death by his father, King P. Aitken Jr.
A time of calling will be held two hours prior to the 1 p.m. memorial service on Wednesday, July
16, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola.
Phil was employed for many years as a designer and consultant for several businesses
throughout his career. In his memory, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s
choice.

Phyllis E. (Menser) Binkley
BOURBON — Phyllis E. (Menser) Binkley, 87, of Bourbon, passed away on Wednesday, July 9,
2008, at Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Marshall County to Mr.
and Mrs. Menser.
She married Lester Binkley. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Phyllis was an avid bowler. She loved dogs and spending Saturday mornings with family. She
was retired from Biomet in Warsaw.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Becky Binkley of Bremen; one grandson, Adam R. (Leah)
Binkley of Bremen; one great-granddaughter, Macie E. Binkley of Bremen; and several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; one son, Richard Binkley; and two brothers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Burial
will take place at Oak Hill cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may call two hours prior to services at
the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

John F. Bolinger
MICHIGAN CITY — John F. Bolinger, 72, of Michigan City, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St.
Anthony Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held 10: 30 a.m. Saturday at Queen of All Saints Church, with Fr. John
Hogan officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the
Carlisle Funeral home, where there will be a Michigan City Lions Club memorial service at 6: 30
p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m. Burial will be made at St. Stanislaus cemetery.
Mr. Bolinger was born April 9, 1936, in Plymouth to John F. and Cecelia (Sester) Bolinger, who
have proceeded him in death. On Oct. 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Thomas at
St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Janet Ortegon of Sheboygan, Wis., John T. (Hiroe)
Bolinger of Glen Ellyn, Ill. and Christine (Lee) Harshbarger of Evansville; three grandchildren:
Alex Ortegon and Sam and Jake Harshbarger; one brother, Joseph P. Bolinger of Grand
Rapids, Mich.; one sister, Mary Ann Bolinger of Plymouth.
Mr. Bolinger was an electrical microwave technology specialist at NIPSCO, retiring in 1998 after
18 years of service. He had also worked at Swiss Controls as a chief project engineer for 10
years, where he had secured 20 patents for his inventions for many different types of electronic
devices.
He was a member of Queen of All Saints Church, Michigan City Knights of Columbus and
Michigan City Lions Club. He enjoyed refurbishing antique radios and was a member of the
Indiana Historical Radio Society. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted
husband, father and grandfather.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franciscan Community Service Hospice and
Michigan City Art League.

Lloyd A. McFarlin
PLYMOUTH – Lloyd A. McFarlin, 89, a lifetime Plymouth – West Township resident, died of
natural causes at 2: 05 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor, 635 Oakhill
Ave., Plymouth.
Born in Plymouth on Sept. 24, 1918, Lloyd was the son of John Lloyd and Lottie (Angler) McFarlin.
He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1937.
A Peach Road dairy farmer for 60 years and a Plymouth Community School bus driver for 23
years, he was a West Township Trustee and on the school organization committee when the
schools combined. He was also a member of the Marshall County Farm Bureau.
On Feb. 4, 1940, Lloyd and Carol Louise Hite were married and preceded in death on Oct. 12, 1986.
Lloyd was a song leader at his church, the Trinity United Methodist Church in Plymouth. In his
early years, he was in several singing groups: the Singing Bulls, the Marco Mountaineers, the
Patrick Gingleheimer and the Barber Pole Cats noted for their renditions of “A Bicycle Built for Two.”
The singers performed for many occasions including entertainment for the Veterans’ Hospital in Muncie.
Lloyd is survived by two sons and a daughter. They are John (Pat) McFarlin of Elkhart, Jim
(Ricki) McFarlin of Ligonier, and Ruth (Bill) Stayton of Plymouth.
Six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren survive as well.
Lloyd was also preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends are invited by Lloyd’s family to celebrate his life on Sunday, July 13, from 12: 30 to 2 p.m.
at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 425 S. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Lloyd will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the church officiated by Rev. Kerry
O’Brien and Mike Burroughs.
Internment will be in Oakhill cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, has been entrusted with arrangements.
