Dr. Arnold Dunfee
PLYMOUTH — Dr. Arnold Dunfee, DDS, 87, died of natural causes, in Apopka, Fla. on
Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 9: 30 p.m.
Dr. Dunfee was a highly skilled and respected dentist in Plymouth for 23 years, retiring from his
practice in 1985.
A civic leader, he was active in numerous organizations in Plymouth and across the state.
Born the son of Dr. Clyde Harrison Dunfee DDS and Orpha Pearl Hatfield Dunfee in Etna Green,
Ind. on April 18, 1921, Arnold graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1939. He
was a standout on the Pilgrim basketball team, receiving All-Conference honors. An all-around
excellent athlete, he also participated in football, tennis and track.
Arnold attended Indiana Central College and the Indiana University School of Dentistry. A
member of the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, he graduated in 1953, and opened his practice in
Plymouth.
Two years later, in 1955, Arnold was called to serve his country in the United States Army Dental
Corps. He held the rank of captain. Honorably discharged in 1957, he returned to Plymouth to
resume his practice.
On Nov. 8, 1941, in Plymouth, Arnold and Mary Jayne Ridenoure were married
. Mary Jayne died
in August of 2006.
Arnold enjoyed golf and antique cars. He was a member of Hoosier Old Wheels, Kaiser Fraser
Club of America, Thunderbird Club of America and the Packard Club.
He developed a love of horses over the last few years. Especially Appaloosas. He and his son,
David, started raising them about five years ago. He loved sitting in the barn and spending time
with them.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and the
Society of the Scottish Rite.
He played golf and was a former member of the Plymouth Country Club, the Placid Lakes
Country Club and the Marshall County Historical Society.
Arnold was past-president of the Plymouth High School Alumni, was a Vestryman of St. Thomas
Episcopal Church, served on the Marshall County Health Board and served with the Plymouth
Chamber of Commerce and the Building Committee of John Glenn High School.
He was past-president of the North Central Dental Society, an associate member of the Chicago
Dental Society and a member of the Dental Society for Children’s Dentistry. He was also pastpresident
and a long time member of the Indiana State Dental Examiners, served on the
Controlled Drug Advisory Committee, the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentists and was a
delegate for the Indiana Dental Society.
Arnold is survived by three children: Dr. Michael Tim (Mary Ann) Dunfee of Spencer, Frances
(Marc) Berger of Elkhart and David (Jeannie) Dunfee of Apopka, Fla. along with six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two sisters also survive, they are; Barbara
Donaldson of South Bend and Lois Elliott of Charlottesville, Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Laurie Susan; two sisters: Josephine Burch
and Laura Dunfee; and a brother, Joseph Dunfee.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., is assisting with local
arrangements in Plymouth, where services will be held at a later date.
Memorial gifts in Dr. Dunfee’s memory may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or the
Marshall County Humane Society.
Ruth L. Fall
PLYMOUTH — Ruth L. Fall, 86, of Plymouth, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at her residence.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Loftus of Plymouth; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No calling is planned. Private services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Jeanette E. Masterson
PLYMOUTH — Jeanette E. Masterson, 21, of Plymouth, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 in South Bend.
She is survived by her parents, Brian K. and Sheri (Burch) Masterson; sister, Caitlin Masterson;
brother, Jeremiah Masterson; maternal grandmother, Naomi Niemier; paternal grandparents,
Rita and Fred Masterson and paternal great-grandmother, Marie Masterson, all of Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 in Plymouth Wesleyan Church,
11203 S. Michigan St., Plymouth. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29 in the Palmer
Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville and one hour prior to the services in church Friday.
Garland Dean "Skeeter" Wilson
ROCHESTER — Garland Dean “Skeeter” Wilson, 81, of Rochester, died Sunday, May 25 at his
residence in Rochester.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara J. Wilson; three daughters: Laura Ann (Dennis) Conley of
Rochester, Rhonda Lu (Larry) West of Traverse City, Mich. and Rebecca Marie Elliott of
Rochester and two sons: Jeffrey Dean (Glendon) Wilson of Rochester and Kenneth Alan Wilson of Warsaw.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 and one hour prior to services
Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 29 at 2 p.m. with military burial to follow at
Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Mary Alice Bragg
LAKEVILLE — Mary Alice Bragg, 82, of Lakeville, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in her home.
She is survived by daughters: Randa Cox of Lakeville, Rebecca Dannacher of Ft. Walton Beach,
Fla. and Rita Goff of Wakarusa; sons: Galen Bragg, Ira Bragg III and Gary Bragg, all of Lakeville
and Shawn Bragg of Atlanta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the Palmer Funeral Home,
Lakeville. Burial will take place in Maple Grove cemetery, Sweetser. Visitation is from 4 to 8
p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Helen Marie Holland
WALKERTON — Helen Marie Holland, 86, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton.
She is survived by daughters: Judy (Pete) Lember of Bourbon and Pat (Dan) Kaemmerer of
Milwaukee, Wis.; sons: Bob (Kitty) Holland of Walkerton, Dennis (Linda) Holland of Walkerton,
Paul Holland of Koontz Lake and Joe (Barb) Holland of South Bend; 21 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. EDT at St. Patricks Church of
Walkerton. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to
8 p.m. EDT and Friday from 10 to10: 30 a.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel
where a Rosary Service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Frank Kats
ROCHESTER — Frank Kats, 52, of Rochester, died at 10: 26 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at
Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He is survived by his daughters: Tiffany Kats and Frankie Kats of Rochester; son, Frank Kats of
Hartford, Ark.; stepson, Dustin Hecht of Rochester; three grandchildren; mother, Eva (Francis)
Boudreau of Hammond; brothers: Richard C. (fiancee Tracy Marcum) Kats of Rochester and
Michael F. (Edie) Boudreau of Hebron; stepbrother, Monty Kelley of Lucerne; stepsister, Regina
Kelley of Logansport; and stepmother, Geneva Kats of Lucerne.
Visitation is Thursday, May 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Friday at the
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Funeral services are Friday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Athens cemetery.

Lemont “Monte” Lenarz
EDINA, Minn. — Lemont “Monte” Lenarz, 79, of Edina, Minn., died Tuesday, May 27, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Bette (Kapphahn, Buchanan); daughters: Suzie, Kathryn, Jane and
Ann and their families, all of Minnesota; stepchildren: Mary Kay (Wayne) Houin of Plymouth,
Larry (Becky) Buchanan of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Scott (Diane) Buchanan of Newton, Conn.,
Pete (Cathy) Buchanan of Lighthouse Point, Fla. and Patti (Rob) Barniskis of Eden Prairie, Minn.
and their families.

Raymond L. Macy
PLYMOUTH — Raymond L. Macy, 72, of 11686 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, passed away at
2: 17 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Community Hospital of Bremen.
Raymond was born April 23, 1936, in Rochester, to Harry and Mildred (VanDuyne) Macy.
Ray was a union carpenter for 21 years and he was also a business representative for Indiana
District Council of Carpenters and Millwrights for 21 years until retirement. He proudly severed
his country in the United States Navy. Raymond and Jo Ann Webb were united in marriage on
August 2, 1963, in Mexico, Ind. Together they raised their three daughters.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Macy; their daughters, Kimberlee R. Macy of
Plymouth, Julie A. and Steven Goble of Plymouth, and Jennifer J. Macy of Indianapolis; two
granddaughters, McKenzie Goble and Macy Goble of Plymouth; his brothers, Harry J. and
Delpha Macy of Florida and Robert D. Macy of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his
parents; his sister, Margaret Holdread; and his sister-in-law, Carol Macy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 3: 30 p.m. at the VAN GILDER
FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill
cemetery, Plymouth.
A time of visiting with the Macy family will be Saturday, May 31, 2008, from 1: 30 to 3: 30 p.m. at
the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.

ROCHESTER — Florence Evelyn Dick, 92, of Rochester, died at 11: 16 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by a son, James Dick of Omaha, Neb.; one grandson; one great-granddaughter;
and a brother, Jack (Lucille) Ring of Buchanan, Mich.
Visitation is Friday, May 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. A
graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Hamlet cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Talma United Methodist Church.
Peg L. Kaufman
PLYMOUTH – Peg L. Kaufman, a lifetime Plymouth area resident, took ill at her mother’s home
and died unexpectedly in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, at 9: 52 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
Born in Plymouth on May 10, 1958, Peg was the daughter of Lowell J. and Patsy L. (Booker) Kaufman.
She graduated from LaVille High School with the class of 1976.
For the past seven years Peg was a retail sales clerk for Wal-Mart. She loved her job and
dealing with people.They loved her back.
She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Plymouth.
She was a published poet, enjoyed music and playing golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago
White Sox and the Chicago Bears.
Peg is survived by her mother; a sister, Lori (Dr. John Jr.) Bottorff of Crawfordsville; two
nephews; John Kaufman Bottorff and Bryant Michael Bottorff; and a niece; Angela Marie Bottorff.
A great aunt, Dorothy Vermillion, Plymouth, and several cousins also survive.
Peg was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandparents, Marion and Mabel Booker
and her paternal grandparents, John A. and Gertrude Olive Kaufman.
Friends are invited to share memories of Peg with her family on Sunday, June 1, 2008, from 1 to
3 p.m., at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Father
William Kummer, pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Edward C. Pritchett
Edward C. Pritchett, 82, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Rochester, died at 12: 34 p.m. CST
Friday, May 23, 2008 at Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview, Texas. On March 27, 1926, he was
born to Clarence and Lura Peppers Pritchett.
Ed was born and lived on a cotton farm with his family in southern Missouri, near the Mississippi
River. Following graduation from East Prairie High School, in East Prairie, Mo., he served our
country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the World War II era. He then returned to the
Hammond, Ind. area where he worked in various steel mills as a union pipe fitter and union
steam fitter.
On June 9, 1951, in Radford, Va., Ed married
the love of his life Helen M. Mills. Together they
shared more than 40 years of marriage that yielded four children: Patricia, Michael, John and
Gregory. Helen passed away following a lengthy battle of cancer on Aug. 26, 1991. He was also
preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Gregory; and a brother, Carl Pritchett.
Life in the country beckoned Ed and Helen and family as they bought land and settled in
Richland Township north and west of Rochester in 1957. During the next 35+ years till 1993, Ed
oversaw the family farm raising Charolais cattle in the early years then later, bred a variety of
hogs and beef along with the grain crops of corn, wheat and soybeans.
Affectionately, known to his best friends as, “Mr. Ed” — he and Helen would entertain friends
and neighbors on the wraparound front porch chatting for hours into the dark of night. Ed looked
forward to his Saturday trips to the Rochester Sale Barn where he watched the sale and visited
with all of his buddies. Ed was delighted to take his family on vacations from coast-tocoast–camping.
It was these times that nature embraced them and adventures were greatly
enjoyed and remembered.
In 1993, Ed sold the family farm traveled around the southwest in his 5th wheel. He spent some
time in New Mexico, then moved to Texas. Ed had always appreciated country-western and
music of the big band era. But it was during this time that Ed discovered a new talent — his
uncanny ability to do the Jitter-Bug. He Jitter-bugged in contests around Texas and New Mexico
with occasional wins. He also enjoyed morning coffee with the guys of Longview, Texas and the
many opportunities their gathering allowed for solving the world’s problems.
Ed was a member of the Gregton 1st Baptist Church, Longview Texas. He also was a former
member of the Manitou Moose Lodge # 1107, 33 degree Mason, Masonic Lodge # 79, Manitou
V.F.W. # 1343, and the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post # 36 all of Rochester. Ed will be
remembered as a loving father, dedicated grandfather and devoted friend. He leaves his family
and friends to cherish his memory.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Mangan of Lewisville, N.C.; two sons: Michael E. Pritchett
of Plymouth and John K. Pritchett of Rochester; two grandchildren: Ryan Mangan of Winston-Salem,
N.C. and Ashley Pritchett of Plymouth; two sisters: Nadine Hilty of Hammond and Melva
Szyblewski of Calaumet City, Ill.; along with nieces and nephews.
A celebration of the life of Edward C. “Mr. Ed” Pritchett will be held at 10: 30 a.m. Saturday
morning, May 31, 2008 at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200, West 18th St., Rochester. Rev.
John Branch will officiate his services. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on
Friday and on Saturday one hour prior to his service. Military graveside rites will be accorded by
the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post and the Manitou V.F. W. at the Rochester IOOF
cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Helen. Preferred memorials in lieu
of flowers may be made to the Hope Hospice of Fulton County or to the Arthritis Foundation.
