Janet L. Loveless
KEWANNA — Janet L. Loveless, 53, of Kewanna, died at 2: 58 a.m. Sunday, March 2 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by son, Aaron J. Loveless of Marion; one granddaughter, mother, Dolly Rife of
Fulton; sister, Carol Rife of Fulton; and brothers: Bud (Ellen) Rife of Mitchell and Jerry Rife of Fulton.
Services will be held at a later date.
The Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of the arrangements.
Margaret Emilie DePrez
PLYMOUTH — Margaret Emilie DePrez, 84, a longtime Pennsylvania Ave., Plymouth resident
and employee of Marshall County Welfare Office, died at her home on Monday morning, March 3.
She was born in Shelbyville on Oct. 30, 1923. She was the daughter of Karl J. DePrez of
Shelbyville and Mary McDannold Lamb DePrez of New London, Mo. She had two sisters, Mary
Lamb DePrez Harding and Anne Deprez Theobald, both deceased.
Ms. DePrez never married
and bore no children. She is survived by six nieces and nephews:
Mary Elizabeth Harding Bradly of Skaneateles, New York; Mary Lamb Theobald Palbykin of
Tucson, Ariz.; Ralph Lyman Harding, III of Freeport, Maine; Peter Michael Theobald of
Cincinnati, Ohio; Margaret Anne Harding St. John of Rowayton, Conn.; and Anne Theobald Ramsey of Middleton, Wis.
Ms. DePrez was a social worker for the Marshall County Welfare Department where she was
recognized an as excellent case worker. A strong and independent woman who liked to have
fun, she also worked for Eli Lily and Wassons in Indianapolis and General Electric in Shelbyville.
An accomplished knitter, she parlayed her skill into her own business which she ran as
Margaret’s Art Needlework of Shelbyville.
Ms. DePrez has been a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Plymouth for more than 30
years. She was a lover of dogs, flowers, and sitting and chatting with friends. She was a lover of
opera and was recognized for the big-city refinement and culture she happily brought to a small
town. She traveled extensively with trips to Europe, Brazil, Mexico and Asia.
Ms. DePrez attended Hollins College of Roanoke, Va. And graduated from DePauw University.
She will be missed by her many friends and relatives.
A Remembrance Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 in the St. Thomas Episcopal
Church, 400 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. Fr. John Schramm will be the Celebrant.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following in Sheridan Hall at the
church. The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth is assisting with arrangements.
Interment will be in the DePrez family plot located in the forest Hill cemetery, Shelbyville.
In lieu of flowers Margaret had requested memorial gifts be given to St. Thomas Church or
Heritage Preservation Center – Indiana.
Arvada C. "Susie" Sullivan
LEESBURG, Fla. — Arvada C. "Susie" Sullivan, 86, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Plymouth,
died Monday, March 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Mayfield Retirement Center in Leesburg.
She is survived by her friend, Sue Veith of Florida.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 2 p.m., at New Oak Hill Chapel in Plymouth.
Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, is in charge of the local arrangements.
William J., Sr. VanVactor
PLYMOUTH — William “Bill” J. VanVactor Sr., 66, of 11306 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, passed
away Monday, March 3, 2008 at 4 p.m. at his home.
Bill was born on Nov. 11, 1941, in Lima, Ohio, to Joseph and Anna (Wagner) VanVactor. He
worked with his family at Van’s Transfer, in Plymouth. After the family business closed, he went
to work for Marine East in Atwood. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Posse from 1960 to 1985. He played in the
“Crystal Cannon Band” for four years as their bass player.
Bill is survived by his son, William (Butch) and Marilee VanVactor of Plymouth; his daughters:
Barbara and Everett Redding of Yuma, Ariz., Rebecca and David Barry of Plymouth, and Ronda
and Rusty Guin of West Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; his father, Joseph
(Joe) and Mardelle VanVactor of Plymouth; his sister, Joanne VanVactor of Indianapolis; his
brothers: James and Deloris VanVactor of Knox and Jon and Ruth VanVactor of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his mother Anna, in 1981, and by his grandson Jonathan, in 2006.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home
in Plymouth, with the Rev. John Perkinson officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Family and friends are invited to share memories of Bill, with his family, on Friday, March 7,
2008, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
Memorial donations may be given to the choice of the donor.
O.C. White
WALKERTON — O.C. White, 90, died Tuesday, March 4 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Walkerton; sons: Dean (Bev) Johnson of Arizona, Walter
(Judy) Johnson of Goshen and Dennis (Rita) Johnson of Walkerton; nine grandchildren; and 19
great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, March 7 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home,
Walkerton, and one hour prior to the services Saturday. Funeral services are Saturday, March 8
at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery.

SOUTH BEND — Michael J. Bauman, 88, of South Bend, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008.
He is survived by sons: Kevin Bauman of South Bend and Jon Hawkins of Plymouth; daughters:
Hazel M. Scott and Vicki Maybee, both of Tyner, and Roseanna Jean of Mooresville; 10
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Alice Pearson, Doris Anders, Joan Faust and Lois
Morrill; and brothers: Howard, Lawrence and Robert Bauman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11: 30 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 in the St. Matthew
Cathedral, 1701 Miami, South Bend. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the
Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.
Richard E. "Dick" Boganwright
CLAYPOOL — Richard E. "Dick" Boganwright of S. 1000 W., Claypool, Ind. Died Saturday,
March 7, 2009 at 9: 10 p.m. at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita I. (Fear) Boganwright; a daughter, Theresa (Randy) Alber of
Claypool; a son, Tim (Sara) Boganwright of Claypool; five grandchildren and two sisters: Iris
Davis and Lois Miller, both of Mentone, Ind.
Visitation will take place from 4: 30 to 8: 30 Tuesday, March 10, 2009 and one hour prior to
services Wednesday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
Funeral services will take place at the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Beaver Dam
United Methodist Church, 9798 W. 1000 S., Akron, Ind.
Burial will follow at Mentone cemetery, Mentone, Ind.

Stephen P., Sr. Williams
PLYMOUTH — Stephen P. Williams Sr., 33, of Plymouth, died Friday, March 7 at 10: 38 a.m. at
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room, Plymouth.
Williams was born Jan. 9, 1975, in Oak Lawn, Ill., to Ronald and Patricia (Daniels) Williams. He
and Carol were married
on Oct. 17, 2007. Williams was a stay-at-home father with his children.
Williams is survived by his wife, Carol; his children: Stephen, Jr., Steel, Sidney, and Stone; his
mother, Patricia Mazie of Plymouth; his grandmother, Florence Daniels of Plymouth and his
sister Angel Highsmith of Eau Claire, Wis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Van Gilder
Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
There will be no funeral services.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
Barbara Proud
KNOX — Barbara Proud, 64, of Knox, died Saturday, March 8 at St. Margaret’s Hospital, East Chicago.
She is survived by daughters: Tammy (Jon) Lee Gudorf of Knox and Sophia Fulton of Sarasota,
Fla.; stepdaughter, Debraha (Dennis) Siddal of New Carlisle; son, Michael (Victoria) Proud of
Francesville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Peelle of Knox; sisters:
Kathy Peelle of Knox, Beverly Spradlin of Indianapolis, Margaret Bunkowfst of Knox, and Becky
Duncan of Plymouth.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox,
with visitation half an hour before services. Cremation will take place.
Evelyn Stoneburner
PLYMOUTH — Evelyn Stoneburner, 85, formerly of Plymouth, died Saturday, March 8 at 7: 45
a.m. at Millers Merry Manor of Walkerton.
Stoneburner was born on April 25, 1922, in Polk Township, Marshall County to Chester and
Clara (Schmeltz) Thayer. Ray and Evelyn (Thayer) Stoneburner were married
on August 10,
1940 and had been married
for 65 years at the time of Ray’s passing on March 19, 2006.
Stoneburner was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church and was a Charter member
of the Rebekah Lodge #865, in Tyner.
She is survived by her nephew, Kenneth (Loretta) Barr of Plymouth and her sister, Gladys
Sheneman of North Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray and her sister Susie.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300
W. Madison St., Plymouth. There will be a Rebekah Lodge service on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
after the visitation.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, at 10: 30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral
Home in Plymouth, with the Rev. Michael Dixon officiating.
Burial will be in Tyner cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Rebekah Lodge #865, Post
Office Box 111, Tyner, IN, 46572.
Mayme V. Sult
WALKERTON — Mayme V. Sult, 97, of Walkerton, formerly of Grovertown, passed away
Saturday, March 8 at Millers Merry Manor, Walkerton.
Sult was born March 6, 1911 in Westville and lived in the Grovertown area most of her life. On
Dec. 31, 1928 in Donaldson, she was married
to Everett E. Sult, who preceded her in death in 1989.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth Sult; daughter, Patricia
McLaughlin; three grandsons and one great granddaughter.
She is survived by: one son, Dennis Sult of Koontz Lake; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
four great-great-grandchildren and two sisters: Ruth Vantilburg and Hazel
Hubner, both of LaPorte.
Sult was a cook for many years at Grovertown High School and was a member of the
Grovertown United Methodist Church.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. (CDT) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Burial will take place at Grovertown cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Grovertown United Methodist Church.
Andres Fonseca
PLYMOUTH — Andres Fonseca, 49, of 121 Louisa St., Plymouth, passed away Sunday, March
9, 2008, at Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend.
Andres was born on Feb. 17, 1959 in Terry County, Texas, to Israel and Martha (Olivares)
Fonseca. He served in the United States Army and had been stationed in Germany. He recently
moved back to Plymouth, from Texas, where he had worked in the landscaping business.
Andres was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church, in Plymouth.
Andres is survived by his children, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; his sons: Vincent R. Fonseca and
Andres J. Fonseca; his daughters: Victoria R. Meraz and Jessica I. Fonseca; his mother, Martha
Fonseca of Plymouth; his brothers and sisters: Eliazar Fonseca of Plymouth, Rosa Stewart of
Plymouth, Roberto Fonseca of Plymouth, Yolanda Fonseca of Lakeville, Lydia Reyna of Fort
Worth, Texas, Irene Davies of Mishawaka, and Israel Fonseca Jr. of Plymouth; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Israel Fonseca.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11: 30 a.m. at Saint
Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating. Military
Honors, for Andres, will be presented by The American Legion Post #27, of Plymouth.
A time of visiting, with the family, will be on Friday, March 14, 2008, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Van
Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
Roberta Beth Karn
ROCHESTER — Roberta Beth Karn, 87, of Rochester, died Sunday, March 9 at 6: 45 a.m. at her home.
She is survived by three children: Richard Karn of Silver Lake, twins Jean (Greg) Halfast of
Rochester and Pastor John A. (Sharon) Karn of Greenville; three grandchildren: Eric (Jamie
Howton) Halfas, Alicia (Michael) Halfast Scorsone and Gretchen Lynne (Will) Jennings; three
great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys (Eugene) Tully of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral
Home, Rochester and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church,
Rochester with burial to follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County, First Baptist Church, Rochester or
Woodlawn Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
Edna P. Taylor
PLYMOUTH — Edna P. Taylor, 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Bourbon, died Sunday, March 9,
2008 in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth.
She is survived by sons: Jerry (Pamela) Taylor of Plymouth and Ronald (Barbara) Taylor of
Bremen; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Maxine (John) Myers of Plymouth.
There will be no visitation of services. Cremation will take place.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Bourbon at a later date.
