Marjorie June Johnson-Andersen
ARGOS — Marjorie June Johnson-Andersen, 86, of Argos, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009 at
5:15 a.m. at her residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 29, 1923 in Argos to Frank Orange Cowen and Hallie Belle Lowry and lived all
of her life in the Argos community.
She married
Dean Milton Johnson Nov. 2, 1941 at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. Dean
preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1987. She then married
Harold C. Andersen April 6, 1991 in
Venice, Fla.
Marjorie worked as a teller at the State Exchange Bank in Argos, for 21 years and retired in June
1985. She was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, Culver and she was a
graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1941.
She is survived by her husband Harold; children: Beverly (Jerry) Gates of Argos, Dennis (Leah)
Johnson of Argos, Randy (Debbie) Johnson of Plymouth, Indiana and Barbara (Timothy) Hackett
of Argos; step-children: Sharon (Del) Allen, Pat (Mike) Hoffman, Penny (Chris) Peterson and
Steve (Joela) Andersen; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Gordon of
Plymouth, Lida (David) Norris of Argos, and Betty (Rex) Castleman of Argos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Dean Milton Johnson; brother, Eldon
Cowen; and sisters: Edith Staley, Florence Baker, and Irene Hissong.
Visitation will take place Friday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home,
208 N. Michigan Street, Argos, IN, 46501.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplin Tom
Padberg officiating.
Burial will take place at Maxincukee I.O.O.F. cemetery at Poplar Grove, Culver.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S.
Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
Delores "Dee" Martin
HAMLET — Delores "Dee" Martin, 82, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, in her home of an illness.
Mrs. Martin was born Aug. 10, 1927 in Gary, to Edward and Jennie (Anderson) Addison. On
Nov. 28, 1947 in Hobart, she was married
to Hobart Martin, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Laura Walters of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Brent (Eileen)
Martin of Plymouth and Brain (Brenda) Martin of Statesville, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Kevin
Walters, Kirsten Martin and Erika Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents and two
brothers.
Mrs. Martin was co-owner of Farm Fertilizer of Hamlet from 1955-2003. She spent her winters in
Florida with her husband for more than 20 years.
She was an avid golfer in both Indiana and Florida. She was a past-member of the Plymouth
Country Club, a 1949 graduate of Ball State University and was a high school teacher for five
years.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. (Central Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet
Chapel with Pastor Tom Padberg officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Oregon-Davis Elementary School
Enhancement Fund.
Eleanor B. Wilson
PLYMOUTH — Eleanor B. Wilson, 89, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 8:05 p.m. at
the Catherine Kasper Life Center.
Services will be at a later date. Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, is handling arrangements.
Rev. Donald E., Sr. Miller
ROCHESTER — Rev. Donald E. Miller, Sr., 86, of Rochester, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at
11:10 p.m. at his son's home in Lafayette.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna A. Lancaster of San Antonio, Texas; sons: Larry D.
(Tammy) Miller of Lafayette, Donald E. (Yolanda) Miller Jr. of Rochester and William L. (Donna)
Miller of Zanesville. Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty L. McFarland
of Indianapolis and several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th
St., Rochester at 3 p.m. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 4 p.m. Burial will take
place at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
LaVerren “Jack” Dale Bradley
MISHAWAKA — LaVerren “Jack” Dale Bradley, 76, of Mishawaka, died at 10:24 a.m. Friday at
Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born in Atwood, Nov. 24, 1932 to Wilbert and Margaret (Wallace) Bradley who preceded
him in death. He married
Esther Faye Pontius May 24, 1953.
She survives with three children: Freddie Dale (Cheri) Bradley of Wakarusa, Teddy Lynn
(Darlene) Bradley of Mishawaka and Peggy Sue (John) Pierce of Granger; and one brother,
Randy Bradley of Tennessee.
Also surviving are his grandchildren: Brooke “Bradley’ Shaw of Wakarusa, Nicolas Bradley of
Mishawaka, Ryan Bradley of Mishawaka, Teddy Bradley Jr. of Mishawaka, Christa Bradley of
Cleveland, Ohio, Brittany Pierce and Taylor Pierce, both of Osceola. His great grandchildren:
Bryce Shaw and Camden Shaw, both of Wakarusa, also survive.
Preceding him in death with his parents are his brothers and sister: Eugene Bradley, Marlene
Zentz and Wayne Bradley; along with one grandson, Christian Bradley; and a son, Larry Allen
Bradley.
Mr. Bradley was a veteran of the United States Army and attended Cedar Road Missionary
Church, Osceola. He retired from Uniroyal Corporation in 1987 and began a second career with
HOMES & LIFESTYLES Magazine in 1987 and was active until his death. His hobbies were
Woodworking and cars.
Friends are receiving guests from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910
N. Main St., Mishawaka and for one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Road Missionary Church.
Burial will follow at Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Charles “Pete” Griggs
TYNER — Charles “Pete” Griggs, 59, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 in Elkhart Hospice House at
3:25 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters: Casey Lott and Morgan Lott, both of South Bend;
seven step-children: Carol Dombkowski and Donna Watts, both of Plymouth, Angelia Coad of
Monterey, Deanna Payne of LaPorte, Daniel Payne of West Columbia, Texas, and Russell
Payne of Culver; six brothers; five sisters; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Tyner cemetery, Tyner.

Leann Jean Schwartz
NAPPANEE — Leann Jean Schwartz, 10, of Nappanee, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at 8:40 p.m.
at her home from complications from cerebral palsy.
She is survived by her parents, Devon and Esther Schwartz; a brother, David Lynn Schwartz, at
home; sisters: Dora Elaine Schwartz, Cheryl Diane Schwartz, Ruby Fern Schwartz, Jolene Kay
Schwartz, twin Leora Jane Schwartz, Debra Ann Schwartz and Sheila Rose Schwartz, all at
home; paternal grandmother, Katie Mae Schwartz of Bourbon; and maternal grandparents,
Roman and Martha Kuhns of Bremen.
Visitation took place at the family residence after 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 and all day Sunday.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mark Stutzman residence,
7806 W. 750 N. Burial will follow at Graber cemetery, Nappanee.

Timothy “Ted” Singleton
KNOX - Timothy “Ted” Singleton, 81, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 in his home.
He is survived by two sisters: Ruby Snyder and Betty Reese, both of Knox; three brothers: Ray
Singleton, Joe Singleton Sr. and Tennis Singleton Jr., all of Knox; and many nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. (Central Time) Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Washington
Township Community Building, Knox. A celebration gathering will take place Saturday at the
community building at 1 p.m. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be given to
the family.
Gerald B. Snyder
HOLTVILLE, Calif. — Gerald B. Snyder, of Holtville, Calif., died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at
Pioneers Memorial Hospital of Brawley, Calif.
He is survived by his sons: Lynn of Holtville, Calif. and Kenny of Yuma, Calif.; daughters-in-law
Glyn and Ana; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Hems Brothers Mortuary was entrusted with arrangements.
Burial will take place at Terrace Park cemetery, Holtville, Calif.
Samuel Anderson
BREMEN — Samuel "Sam" Anderson, 85, of Bremen, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; children: Rick (Karen) Anderson and Tamara Anderson, all of
Bremen, Kelly Anderson of Poinciana, Fla., and Destiny (Barry) Mancuso of Bremen; seven
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Polly) Anderson of Bremen; and a
sister, Carol (Jack) Heinke of Bremen.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030
S.R. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will
follow at Bremen cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Lawrence P. Baumann
SOUTH BEND — Lawrence P. Baumann, 83, of South Bend, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 in
Sterling House, South Bend.
He is survived by step-daughters: June Summers of Tennessee and Deborah (Michael) Rach of
Granger; step-son, William (Ruth Ann) Miller of South Bend; sisters: Alice Pearson of Plymouth,
Lois (Art) Merrill of Argos, Joan Foust of Ocala, Fla. and Doris (Dean) Anders of Niles, Mich.;
brother, Robert Baumann of Argos; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Welsheimer Family Funeral
Home, South Bend.
Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the funeral home.
Burial followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial donations may be made to
the donor’s choice.
Phyllis Miller
MILFORD — Phyllis Miller, 80, of Nappanee, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at 1:55 p.m. at
Lakeland Loving Care, Milford.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie (George) Newkirk of Nappanee; a son, Michael (Barbara)
Miller of Bourbon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma (Gary)
Montgomery of Bourbon.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Thompson-Lengacher &
Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
Evelyn M. Milliser
PLYMOUTH – Evelyn M. Milliser, 93, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at 10:30 p.m. of
natural causes in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home.
Evelyn was the daughter of Lewis O. and Pearl J. (Rosebrook) Hurford. She graduated from
Plymouth High School with the class of 1933.
Russel H. Milliser and Evelyn were married
June 27, 1936, in Plymouth. Together they had three
sons: Robert, Roger, and John. Russel preceded her in death March 17, 1992.
Besides being a homemaker, she worked two years for Meck Industries and 24 years for
Weidner’s Pilgrim Farms in quality control. She enjoyed raising her children, gardening, cooking,
canning, doingembroidery, and reading.
Evelyn is survived by two sons: Robert L. and LeAnne Milliser of South Bend and John A. Milliser
of Plymouth. Her seven grandchildren are: Anne (Roger) Pierce, Kay Beam, Joy (Frank)
Jacquez, Brian Milliser, Holly Milliser, Heather Filson, and Justina Milliser. Thirteen great
grandchildren, and one great-great grandson survives as well.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son Roger L. Milliser, a brother Lewis
W. Hurford, and a sister Margaret (Hurford) Welch.
Friends are invited to share memories with her family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday,
November 19, 2009, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 1p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg will
officiate.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.
