Kathleen Mason
ETNA GREEN - Kathleen Mason, 86, of W. 500 N., Etna Green, Ind. died Friday, July 24 at 9:30 p.m. in Indiana
University Medical Center of Indianapolis after a short illness.
She is survived by her two children: daughter, Avis (Richmond) Slone of Etna Green and son,
David Iden (Ann) Mason of Indianapolis and three grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Etna Green Church of Christ
206 W. Broadway St. Etna Green, Indiana.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29 at the church.
Burial will follow at the Etna Green cemetery, Etna Green, Ind.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Harold W. Farver
PLYMOUTH — Harold W. Farver, 69, a lifetime area resident, died at 4:27 a.m., Saturday, July
25, 2009 at his residence, after a battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Born in LaPaz, June 2, 1940, Harold was the son of Glenn and Dora Carlson Farver. He attended LaPaz schools.
On June 13, 1959, in Walkerton, Harold and Judy M. Minnix were married
.
He retired from AM General Corp. in 1996.
Harold was well known for his love of sports. He was a die-hard Cubs fan, a Chicago Bears fan
and a huge Notre Dame fan.
He also loved to fish, play golf, play pool and watch Nascar. Harold was a member of the Sons
of the American Legion Post in Plymouth.
He is survived by Judy, his wife of 50 years, and by their son, Jeff (Lisa) Farver, of Plymouth and
their daughter Kim Correll of Nappanee.
Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive together with two sisters: Betty
Kizer of Lakeville and Doris Sliter of Koontz Lake, and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Helen M. Lemert and Norma Jean
Hoover and three brothers: Robert Farver, Dale Farver and Bill Williams.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Harold will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, in the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Bremen cemetery, Bremen.
Memorial gifts may be made to the A.L.S. foundation.
Ruth Ann Deaton
MACY — Ruth Ann Deaton, 71, of Macy, died at 10:38 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Parkview
Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughters: Lora Ann (Jim) Chester of Chili and Shari Lynn
(Brian) Simonson of Rochester; sons: Charles Kenneth Deaton of Macy and William Earl
(Pamela) Deaton of Macy; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ruby (Sid) Mawbly
of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Judy DePlant of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Lee Francis of Flint,
Mich.; and sister-in-law, Lora Davis of Macy.
Services are Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at
the funeral home.
Joel Aaron Brugh
ROCHESTER — Joel Aaron Brugh, 31, of Rochester, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009
at Dailey Lake in Emigrant, Mont.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Ronda Hood Brugh of Rochester; brothers: Joshua
(Mandie) Brugh of South Bend, Jason (Teena) Brugh of Livingston, Mont. And Jim Brugh of
Mishawaka; sister, Audra Brugh of San Diego, Calif.; and grandparents: Doris Hood of
Rochester and Joseph and Mildred Brugh of Rochester.
Services are Friday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with
visitation two hours prior.

Jack R. Pittman
BREMEN — Jack R. Pittman, 58, of Bremen, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his residence.
Survivors include nieces: Staci Hendricks of Bremen and Misti Hendricks of Bremen; nephew,
Corky Hendricks of Bremen; aunt, Martha Martin of Bremen; uncle, Stanley Mutti of South Bend;
and brother-in-law, Fred Eby of Bremen.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Kristy Jean Kline
BREMEN — Kristy Jean Kline, 44, of Bremen passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the
Hospice House in Elkhart. She was born March 13, 1965 in Bremen to James and Loretta
(Hochstetler) Huff and married
Shane A. Kline on May 20, 1989. He survives.
Kristy was a 1983 graduate of Bremen High School, 1987 graduate of Manchester College and
worked in sales with Space Management in Mishawaka. She attended Community Gospel
Church in Bremen, was active in the Marshall County 4-H and participated in the Holy Walk
since it started more than 25 years ago. She was also owner of Kline’s Bison with her husband
and enjoyed camping and four-wheeling.
Survivors include her husband, Shane Kline of Bremen; two daughters: Lorinda and Amanda, at
home; parents, James and Loretta Huff of Bremen; one sister, Carlene (Tony) Leeper of
Bremen; and two brothers: Max (Linda) Huff of Bremen and Rex (Kerry) Huff of Bremen.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Community Gospel Church in Bremen
and will be officiated by Pastor Mike Fanning. Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery/ Friends
may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or
Center for Hospice or Ryan’s Place.

Rose Marie Simon
GROVERTOWN — Rose Marie Simon, 65, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in Memorial
Hospital, South Bend.
Survivors include two daughters: Tammy Kwist of South Bend and Lisa Lindsley of Grovertown;
two sons: Troy Kwist of Knox and Charles Lindsley of Grovertown; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren;
nine step-great-grandchildren; mother, June Wesszo of South Bend; three
sisters: Bonnie Simon and Susan Simon, both of Walkerton and Carolyn Bunton of Grovertown;
two brothers: James Simon of Lawrence, Mich. and Thomas Simon of South Bend and her longtime
companion, Randy Daley of Grovertown.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 7 at noon (Central Time) at Grovertown cemetery.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Keeley Shay Marie Barnes
ROCHESTER — Keeley Shay Marie Barnes, 9 months, died at 8:23 p.m. Thursday, July 30,
2009 at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.
She is survived by her parents, Lacy Clemons-Anderson and Shaun Barnes; sisters: Haylee
Dawn Barnes and Jayda Lynn Barnes; and brohter, Cayden Joseph Holloway.
Services are Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. in the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with
visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
W. Charles "Chuck" Huff
Our dear son, brother, dad, granddad, and friend passed away on July 30, 2009. Born on Oct.
13, 1942 in Belleville, Ill., he was raised in Bremen.
From a very early age, he wanted to learn to fly, and earned his private pilot’s license as a
teenager. He went on to earn his Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and flew for several years as
a corporate pilot, at one time flying Lear Jets for Burger Chef. Wanting to pursue his education,
he moved to Bloomington and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from IU, and eventually a MBA
from Butler. He worked several years in various positions for the City of Indianapolis and State of
Indiana. In the 1980s, he returned to his first love — flying. A natural teacher, he was a CFI,
CFII, MEI, and Certified Ground Instructor and earned the FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor
status. In 2004, he earned the CSIP credential to allow him to provide high quality transition
training and other approved training courses to Cirrus owners and pilots. Chuck instructed many
professional people in the art and skill of flying and maintaining their personal airplanes.
In addition to flying, Chuck had a tremendous passion for life and was very active and involved in
a number of activities. He was a former state champion in archery and was previously active in
the Indianapolis Flycasters Association. He enjoyed reading, running, snow skiing, hiking,
hunting, fishing, and playing jazz on his trumpet. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol
and patrolled at Ski World in Nashville, Ind., then transferred to Perfect North Slopes in
Lawrenceburg. He won several local and regional service awards for his contributions and
commitment while a member of both patrols. After becoming involved with ski patrol and always
wanting to further his education, he earned an Emergency Medical Technician certificate.
Chuck is survived by two children: Shayne (Edward Mamenta) Huff of Brookline, Maine and
Tony (Miki) Huff of Boise, Idaho; four grandsons: Kenji, Ethan, Seji, and Yuji; mother, Llana Huff
of Indianapolis; two brothers: Curtis (Carol) Huff of Fishers and Carter (Sharon) Huff of
Brownsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce (Jack) Nelson of South Bend; maternal
grandparents Charles and Jenny Hiester of Bremen; and paternal grandparents Welcome and
Bernice Huff of Bremen.
Chuck’s loss leaves a tremendous emptiness in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him.
Services will take place at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. A
calling is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a memorial service to follow immediately
thereafter.

Joseph Glendon Voreis
PLYMOUTH — Joseph Glendon Voreis, 28, of Michigan Rd., Plymouth, died Thursday, July 30,
2009 at 4:36 p.m. at his residence.
He was born Aug. 7, 1980 in Plymouth to William L. Voreis and Rebecca Chamberlin and lived
all of his life in the Plymouth and Marshall County area.
He married
Andrea Small June 23, 2001 in Plymouth. Joseph was a farmer and a member of St.
Michael’s Catholic Church of Plymouth and the (NRA) National Rifle Association.
He was a graduate of the Plymouth High School class of 1999.
He is survived by his wife Andrea of Plymouth; children: Dylan Joseph Voreis and Madison Lynn
Voreis of Plymouth; his father, William “Bill” L. Voreis of Argos; his mother, Rebecca (Alan)
Collins of Plymouth; a brother, William (Natalie) Voreis Jr. of Argos; two sisters: Jennifer (Troy)
Wethe of Phoenix, Ariz. And Angela (Kyle) Reese of Plymouth; grandmothers: Carole Meredith
and Carol Sue Collins both of Plymouth and Lillian Kenny of Culver.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Orville and Louise Voreis and grandfathers: Jim
Chamberlin, Glendon Meredith, F.J. Collins and Henry Kenny.
Friends may visit with the family Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Michael
Catholic Church, 613 N. Walnut St., Plymouth.
A celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 at St.
Michael Catholic Church, Plymouth with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.
Burial will take place at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michael Parish Playground Fund, 613 N. Walnut
St., Plymouth.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
Edith M. Danner
GROVERTOWN — Edith M. Danner, 79, of Rocky Mount, Va., formerly of Grovertown, died
Friday, July 31, 2009 in Virginia.
She is survived by three daughters: Glenda Melton of Grovertown, Wanda Stull of Virginia and
Billie Jo Van of Colorado; one son, Tony Danner of Niles, Mich.; two sisters: Mildred Pate and
Lorene Lawler, both of Alabama; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. (Central Time) until the time of services
at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Grovertown
cemetery.
