SOUTH BEND — Joyce L. Michael, 83, died June 9, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Jasper “Mike” Michael; children: John (Christine) Michael, Pamela (Jim) Werner, Susan (Bill) Czarnecki, Vickie (Bob) Pinckert, Tom (Kelli) Michael, Tim (Kari) Michael and Kristin (Joe) Jasinski; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 12, in Lydick United Methodist Church, 26510 W. Edison Road, South Bend, Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, and one hour prior to services in the church on Friday.

Devon Weise
NAPPANEE — Devon Weise, 77, of Nappanee, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at LuAnn Nursing Home.
He is survived by sons: Wayne (Sue) Weise of Noblesville, Mickeal Weise of Nappanee and Charles (Jane) Weise of Milford; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Mary (Rolf) Neitzel of Battle Creek, Mich. And Carol (Gene) Emerson of Winsted, Minn.
Visitation is Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Services are Saturday, June 13 at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
William E. Brown
PLYMOUTH – William E. Brown, 220 Klinger Ave., died of natural causes in Plymouth’s Miller’s Merry Manor, at 7:33 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009. He was 88 years old.
Bill was born on November 6, 1920, in Winslow, Ind., the son of James and Lillie Mae (Noland) Brown. He graduated from Bicknell Indiana High School with the Class of 1940.
He attended Purdue University for two years and graduated with a B.S. from Indiana State, followed by at Master’s degree from Ball State University.
As a teacher and a coach for nearly 40 years, his students now adults still greeted him as “Mr. Brown”. He was a familiar face at many schools including: Tyner, West Township, North Webster and LaPaz. After 26 years, he retired from the Union-North United School Corporation in 1984.
His first wife was Betty Faye Matz who passed away on Dec. 11, 1989. On Sept. 4, 1993 in Plymouth he married
Elizabeth “Betty” Peterson Brown who survives.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at North Liberty, and a former member of the Indiana State Teachers Association. Bill enjoyed all sports especially Notre Dame and making the deal for a new car so he and Betty could ‘up and go’ as they traveled the United States.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty, Plymouth, and by a son, Gerry E. (Deborah) Brown, North Liberty, and Dale R. (Laurel) Peterson, a step-son of Rensselaer, and Diane Peterson, a step daughter of South Bend.
A grandson, Jameson M. Brown, a granddaughter, Kirsten E. Brown, both of North Liberty also survive, together with grandson, Todd R. (Julie) Peterson, Remington, survives as well, together with their children, Ashley Elaine Peterson and Blake Peterson, both of Remington, and grandson, Patrick J. (Kim) Hoehne and their children Nicole L. Hoehne and Camryn P. Hoehne all of Carmel.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a brother, Jack Keasling and a grandson, Jeremy T. Hoehne.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Monday, June 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 in the funeral home. Pastor Fred Stayton of the Bristol United Methodist Church will preside. Burial will follow in the Morris cemetery, LaPaz.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.
Richard Eugene "Tarz" Evans
NAPPANEE — Richard Eugene "Tarz" Evans, 85, of Nappanee, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Evans; daughters: Barbara Diegel of Willston, Fla. And Pam (Tom) Moody of Sturgis, Mich.; sons: Larry Evans of Bluntstown, Fla., Dennis (Doris) Evans of Nappanee and Roger Evans of Bristol; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 15 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Sunday, June 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Services are Sunday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Stony Point cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Nappanee American Legion Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care.
Robert L. Ruggles
HAMLET — Robert L. Ruggles, 41, died June 11, 2009 at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox.
Survivors include two daughters: Breanne Ruggles and Rebecca Ruggles, both of Hamlet; his parents, Larry and Judith Ruggles of Hamlet; and one sister, Joan Piedmonte of Goshen, Ky.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. (Eastern Time) at Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton.
Memorial contributions may be given to Tracy United Methodist Church. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, is handling arrangements.
Ronald E. Scott
ROCHESTER — Ronald E. Scott, 77, of Rochester, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 10:05 at his residence.
He is survived by daughters: Terri Sweet, Regina (Terry) Lloyd, all of Rochester, Rene’ (Rodney) Schmeltz of Ft. Wayne; son, Dennis (Marci) Scott of Granger; seven Grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
and sisters: Carol (Duane) Conrad of Florida and Betty (Griff) Griffen of Arizona.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rochester.
The Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Elizabeth “Bydalek” Abair
PLYMOUTH — Mary Elizabeth Abair “Bydalek”, age 51 of Plymouth, passed away Friday, June 12 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
Mary went to fly among the angels in heaven after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Bydalek of Sand Lake Mich.; brother, Mark Bydalek (Sarah) of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five children and four grandchildren: daughter, Jessica (Fred) Misner and grandchildren Brendan and Elizabeth of Sand Lake, Mich., daughter Rachell (Nate) Davis and granddaughter Lucy; Sarah Abair and granddaughters Lily and Melissa Abair and son, Nicholas Abair of Plymouth.
Mary was preceded in death by her father Raymond Bydalek of Sand Lake, Mich. And sister Linda Provo (Jim) of Escanaba, Mich.
Mary has selflessly donated her body to Indiana University in hopes of helping others with this illness.
A memorial church service will be held at St Michael’s Catholic Church, in Plymouth, Tuesday, June 16 at 11:30 a.m.

Charles Raymond Bradley
ARGOS — Charles Raymond Bradley, 71, of 18th Road, Argos, Ind. died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 9:52 a.m. at Life Care Center of Rochester, following a short illness.
He was born May 1, 1938 in Columbus, Ind. to John R. and Elva Mae (Foreman) Bradley and moved to the Argos community in 1988 coming from Decatur County.
He married
Diann Lee Hulsman March 7, 1970 in Shelbyville, Ind. And worked for Purdue University for 24 years as a Youth Educator for 4-H. Working in Decatur County for 13 years and Marshall County for 10 years, he retired from the Marshall County Cooperative Extension office in 1998 as the County Extension Agent. He had also been a substitute teacher at Argos High School.
Bradley was a graduate of Columbus High School with the class of 1956. He attended Indiana University where he earned his bachelors degree and the University of Louisville earning a master degree. He is a member of Saint Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church. Culver, Ind.; Knights of Columbus; Saint Mary’s Chapter, Culver, Ind.; Kiwanis-Plymouth Noon Club; Friends of the Argos Library, Argos, Ind.; Wythougan Historical Preservation and Master Gardeners, both of Marshall County; Hoosier Recreation Workshop of Camby, Ind.; I.A.R.L.W. – International Workshop; Epsilon Sigma Phi – National Honorary Extension Fraternity.
He was formerly very active with Indiana Rural Youth Organization.
He is survived by his wife, Diann L. Bradley of Argos; a daughter, Ann Bradley of Argos; sons, John Robert Bradley and wife Dawn of Argos, Ind., James Thomas Bradley and wife Melissa of Argos, Ind. And Joseph Scott Bradley and wife Jeannie of Lake Butler, Fla.; six grandchildren: Chelsea, Sabrina, Jessica, Kaylee, Kyle, Wyatt; a brother, Robert Eugene Bradley and his wife Catherine of New Palestine, Wyo.; a sister, Iva Marie Koffman and husband George of Indianapolis, Ind.; and mother-in-law, Mary Louise Hulsman of Shelbyville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Boyal and brother, James Bradley.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Argos High School Auditorium, 500 Yearick Ave., Argos, Ind. And from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Rd., Shelbyville, IN, 46176.
A Rosary Service will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
Funeral Services for Charles Raymond Bradley will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday June 17, 2009 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Shelbyville, Ind. With Rev. Father Glen Kohorman officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic cemetery, Shelbyville, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County 4-H Scholarship Fund or Kiwanis of Marshall County — Riley Hospital Fund.

Evelyn J. Froeschke
PLYMOUTH — Evelyn J. Froeschke, 51, died, following a long battle with cancer, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn was born, the daughter of Norman W. and Loretta M. Guise Beatty, in South Bend on Aug. 25, 1957.
She was a 1975 graduate of Plymouth High School.
On Oct. 2, 1976, in Plymouth, Evelyn and Stephen W. Froeschke were married
.
A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, the Cub’s baseball and, most of all, her two granddaughters, Gaia Froeschke and Hayley Galke, both of Plymouth.
She was a member of the Old Bowling Bags in the Queens League, bowling on Wednesday nights.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Steve, and their daughter Jessica Ringer and her fiancé Matt Galke and their son, Nick Froeschke, all of Plymouth.
Three sisters and five brothers also survive. Her sisters are: Rhonda (Buster) Johnson, Plymouth: Kathy S. Beatty, Culver and Teresa A. ( Jack) Huffer, LaPaz.
Her brothers are Michael W. (Shelly) Beatty, Argos: Ronald E. (Cheryl) Beatty, James E. (Julie) Beatty: David A. Beatty and Larry N. Beatty, all of Plymouth.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Evelyn’s family invites her friends to celebrate her life with them on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be held in the funeral home Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Les Johnson, Chaplain at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials in Evelyn’s memory may be made to Autism Resources of Marshall County.
John David Hall
ROCHESTER — John David, Hall, 74, of Rochester, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons: William D. (Nathalie) Schmicker of Orinda, Calif. And Richard D. (Wendy) Schmicker; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services are Monday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.
