Kenneth Harrington
PLYMOUTH — Kenneth Harrington, 91, 11385 13th Rd., Plymouth, died of natural causes at
Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 5 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009.
It is said of Kenneth that he was a kind, thoughtful man and never did anything to hurt anyone.
Kenneth was born on Oct. 11, 1917, in Plymouth. He was the son of Theodore and Mary Alice
Harrington.
He attended school in Inwood.
Kenneth served his country in the United States Army in World War II.
On Oct. 30, 1949, in Bremen, he and Onie Bell Speegle were married
.
Kenneth worked at Uniroyal in South Bend for 40 years, retiring in 1981.
He loved to hunt, fish and trap and was still cutting fire wood at 88-years-old. He was a true
sportsman and outdoorsman.
Kenneth is survived by two sons and a daughter. They are Kenneth L. Harrington, Rochester,
and Jon E. Harrington, Plymouth. His daughter, Alice K. Harrington, lives in Cocoa, Fla.
Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Onie, who died in 2003, Roger
D., and two brothers, Ralph and David Harrington.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, April 24, 2009, from 10 to noon at the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Kenneth will follow the visitation in the funeral home at noon. The Rev.
Chuck Krieg will officiate. Military graveside services will be accorded by the Plymouth American
Legion Post 27 in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Lois E. Hubeny
KNOX — Lois E. Hubeny, 69, died Monday, April 20, 2009 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Loh of McHenry, Ill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 23 at 11 a.m. (Central Time) at St. Thomas
Aquinas Church, Knox.
Burial will be at the Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
Visitation is at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, Wednesday, April 22 from 4 to 8
p.m. CDT and Thursday 10 to10:30 a.m.
A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
John W. Jacobs
GROVERTOWN — John W. Jacobs, 78, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 in his home after
an illness. Mr. Jacobs was born Nov. 26, 1930 in Culver to Harland and Florence (Tyler) Jacobs
and lived in the area all of his life. On Feb. 19, 1955 in Plymouth, he was married
to the former
Adeline Menczynski.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; three daughters: Donna (Marvin) Schuh of Grovertown,
Diane Stevenson of Walkerton and Darlene (Randy) Richardson of Mentone; five grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Luella Nicodemus of Mesick, Mich.; two brothers: Richard
Jacobs and Arthur Jacobs, both of Plymouth.
Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; one sister; and two brothers.
Mr. Jacobs was a retired employee of McCord Corporation of Plymouth. He was a member of
St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Hamlet, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Hamlet
American Legion Post #356.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. (Central Time) at St. Matthew Lutheran Church,
Hamlet, with Pastor Kyle Wright officiating. Burial will be at the Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet,
where military graveside services will be conducted. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 4
to 8 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church or hospice of choice.

Marla Kay (Greenlee) Morgan
PLYMOUTH — Marla Kay (Greenlee) Morgan, 46, a former Plymouth resident, died Monday,
April 20, 2009 following an vehicular accident.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde W. Morgan Jr.; sons: Joshua and Benjamin Morgan, both
of Battle Creek, Mich.; a daughter, Michelle (Ivan) McHerron of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two
grandchildren; mother, Nila Greenlee and brother David Greenlee, both of Plymouth.
A celebration service and luncheon will be held 3 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Family Alter
Chapel, 14844 6 1/2 Mile Rd. in Battle Creek, Mich.
Memorial contributions be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence, 5470 Glenn
Cross Rd., Battle Creek, MI 49015.

Malissie Sanders
CULVER — Malissie Sanders, 98, of Culver, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at Miller’s
Merry Manor, Culver.
She is survived by sons: Jesse Taylor of Durant, Miss., James Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colo.
And Ezell Taylor; and daughters: Margaret Thorn of Rochester and Ruby Taylor of Chicago, Ill.
Visitation is Monday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Services are Monday at noon at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Eugene A. Yoder
NAPPANEE — Eugene A. Yoder, 76, of Nappanee, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, April 20 at
Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; daughters: Diane Enos of Elkhart and Gina Yoder of Hanover,
N.H.; sons: David (Jeanne) Yoder of Niles, Mich., Bob (Troy) Yoder of Plymouth and Steve
(Maggie) Yoder of Erin, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and brother, Duane (Carol)
Yoder of Goshen.
Visitation is Thursday, April 23 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, Nappanee. Services are Friday, April 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,
Bremen. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Nappanee American Legion. Burial
will be at the Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Joan Glover
BREMEN — Joan Glover, 62, of Bremen, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center, South Bend.
She is survived by her husband, Bo Glover of Lake of the Woods; sons: John Eric Gingerich of
Three Rivers, Mich. and W. Vincent (David Wilson) Gingerich of Columbus, Ohio; daughter,
Angela Renee (Ryan) Pope of South Bend; four grandchildren and one on the way; one stepson;
two stepdaughters; six step grandchildren; and brothers: Fredrick (Lois) Call of Bristol, James of
Maine, John (Deb) Anglemyer of Bremen and Lee (Deb) Anglin of Elkhart.
Funeral services are Friday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Visitation is Friday at 4 p.m. until the service.

Loretta M. Hoffer
PLYMOUTH — Loretta M. Hoffer, 93, of 805 Baker St. Lot 92, Plymouth, passed away at 2:45
a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center in Donaldson.
Loretta was born on Oct. 29, 1915, in Inwood to George and Bessie Fern (Stiles) Cappaus. On
Jan. 17, 1933, Loretta and Clarence J. Hoffer were united in marriage. Together they raised
their three children. Loretta enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother. She enjoyed going
camping and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson. The Hoffers had
been residents of Donaldson for many years.
Loretta is survived by her two daughters: Wanda Gibson of Plymouth and Mary Helen (Richard)
Palmer of Plymouth; her son, Jerry (Donna) Hoffer of Plymouth; two granddaughters: Connie
Goad and Diane Williams; two grandsons: Stanley Palmer and Darrel Hoffer; three great granddaughters:
Jessica Goad, Jenelle Plamer, and Elizabeth Palmer; five great-grandsons:
D.J. Hoffer, Robbie Hoffer, J.D. Goad, Jamie Goad, and Jason Goad.
She was preceded in death by her brother; Raymond Cappaus; and two sisters: Mary Roberts
and Zelphia Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the VAN GILDER
FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Denise Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher
cemetery, Grovertown.
A time of visiting with the Hoffer family will be Friday, April 24, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the VAN
GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Evangelical Covenant Church,
Post Office Box 67, Donaldson, IN 46513.
Leona F. Taylor
PLYMOUTH — Leona F. Taylor, 91, of 635 Oakhill Ave., Plymouth, passed away at 12:32 a.m.
Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, in Plymouth.
Leona was born Dec. 3, 1917, in Rochester to John and Gail (Galbreath) Good.
Leona and W. Kenneth Taylor were united in marriage on June 3, 1935, in Rochester. Leona
enjoyed being a mother and making a home for her family. She also loved to read and to garden.
Leona is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl and Garry Bowman of Plymouth and Nancy and
Kevin Bammerlin of Plymouth; her son, Dennis and Marcia Taylor of Rochester; her sister, Patty
Bryant of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband; W. Kenneth Taylor; their daughter, Connie Sue
Taylor; her sisters, Ida Mae Overmyer, Donnabelle Summers, and Clarice Castleman; and her
brothers, Max Good and Delbert Good.
VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the services. A family service for Leona was
held. Burial was in Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery, in Rochester.
Anna (Trcka) Oudes
NORTH JUDSON — Anna (Trcka) Oudes, 81, of North Judson, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009
at LaPorte Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Oudes of North Judson; daughter, Hanna Easter of
North Judson; son, John H. Oudes of Plymouth; and two grandsons.
Services are Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at Highland cemetery, North Judson.
O’Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson, is in charge of the arrangements.
Patricia Edgell
KNOX — Patricia Edgell, 70, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 in Wintersong Village Nursing Home, Knox.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Edgell; daughter, Lanette Wireman of Knox; son, Joel
Edgell of Hamlet; five grandchildren; one half-sister; and one half-brother.
A memorial service will be Sunday, April 26 at 4 p.m. Central Time at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witness. Visitation is at the church one hour prior to the service Sunday.

BREMEN — Gary Allen Stuntz, 62, of Bremen, died Thursday, April 23, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; a son, Tate (Amy) Stuntz of Noblesville; two daughters: Tara
(Clint Town) Stuntz of Bremen and Deanna Stuntz of Bremen; parents, Howard and June Stuntz
of Bremen; a brother, Glenn Stuntz of Fla. And six grandchildren.
Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030
State Road 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place Monday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Bremen Ceme†ery.
Memorials may be made to the Bremen VFW Parking Lot Fund.

KNOX — Dawn Back, 47, of Knox, died Friday, April 24, 2009.
She is survived by sons: Jessy Back of Michigan City, Jamie Back of West Frankfort, Ill.,
Matthew Back of Miller, and Brian Back of Knox; 10 grandchildren; brothers: Doug Campbell of
North Judson, Michael Campbell of Chesterton, David Campbell of Knox and Dwain Campbell
of Cookville, Tenn.; and sisters: Marcia Thorne of Plymouth, Cindy Campbell of Plymouth and
Carla Campbell of Chesterton.
Services are Wednesday, April 29 at 1 p.m. at United Baptist Church of Aldine. Visitation is one
hour before the service at the church.
