Bernard "Bud" N. Childs, Attica
Bernard “Bud” N. Childs, 77, Attica, died at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette, on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 7:58 a.m.
Bud was born in Indianapolis, IN, on July 23, 1929. He was the son of the late Myron and Bessie (Brickett) Childs. Bud grew up in Indianapolis where he attended Ben Davis High School. He moved to rural Attica in Warren County in 1971. He worked at Link Belt as a machinist for 25 years. He also farmed in Warren Township for many years. Bud was a school bus driver for the Metropolitan School District of Warren County for 25 years.
Bud was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Otterbein. He enjoyed woodworking and also raised and rode horses. He was an avid outdoors man and camper.
On April 11, 1971, Bud married Greta L. Feldkamp in the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Otterbein, IN. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mickie (husband-Jerone) Rhodes, Hot Springs, Ark; Anne Brigham, Illinois and Mary Childs, Florida; three sons, Paul (wife-Bonnie) Childs, Jon (wife-Angie) Childs, and Dennis (wife-Cindy) Childs, all of Indianapolis; two step sons, Lon (wife-Cindy) Garriott and Rick (wife-Tina) Garriott, both of Attica; a brother, Don Childs, Plainfield, IN; a sister, Iris Morris, Attica; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bernie Childs and two sisters, Eillean Burkett and Marge Jones.
Visitation at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, Jan. 5th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church, Otterbein on Saturday, Jan. 6th, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastors Dean Skow and Rex Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in the Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Maxine (Cox) Lanie, Williamsport
Maxine (Cox) Lanie, 89, Williamsport, died in the Hawthorne Inn in Danville, Illinois, on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.
Maxine was born in Taylorville, Illinois, on November 2, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Nettie Mann Cox. She was raised in Rossville, Illinois, graduating from Rossville High School. She has lived in rural Williamsport since 1937 and in Hawthorne Inn since August of 2006.
Maxine married Raymond “Slim” Lanie on January 1, 1937 in the St. Francis Xavier Parish in Attica. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Maxine was a farm wife. She enjoyed raising flowers and loved her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Steve (wife-Peppy) Lanie, Williamsport; two grandchildren, Jacob (wife-Katie) Lanie and Lyndsey (husband-Joe) Salts; a great granddaughter, Joanna Lynn Salts. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Cox and a sister, Roberta Ingram.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, January 13th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions are preferred to the Warren County Community Foundation.
Kathy J. Matillo, Attica
Kathy Jane (Burtron) Matillo, 53, of 302 N. Third St., Attica, died on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at her residence.
Kathy was born in Lafayette on September 11, 1953. She was the daughter of Chelse C. “Dick” and Ura B. (Bowman) Smith. She was raised in Attica and attended Attica High School. She later attended the Danville Area Community College earning her Associate of Science Degree in Business.
Kathy worked as a secretary for the Wabash Valley Outpatient Center in Attica from 1985-1991. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Danville, IL. She was an active member of the Moose Lodge #1482 of Attica. She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3318 and Eagles Auxiliary #2596 both of Attica.
Survivors include two sons, Donny Anders of Arcola, IL and Boyd (wife-Tuesday) Anders of Lafayette; a daughter, Karla Anders of West Lafayette; two brothers, Charles (wife-Clarissa) Allen of Kingman and Robert Burtron of Burton, SC; two sisters, Sue Blanchard of Rochester and Nancy Hammond of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Stephen Anders, Bryan Rogers, Haley Jean, Dallas Bader, Trinity Anders and Evan Anders. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alicia “Mary” Brinegar, and a daughter, Janeil Bader.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery
at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating.
Dorothy Marie (Self) Jahnke, Hillsboro
Dorothy Marie (Self) Jahnke, 91, formerly of Hillsboro, died at 6:22 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2007 at Hickory Creek at Crawfordsville.
Dorothy was born on January 25, 1915, in Advance. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Lillie May (Wiseman) Self. She was a 1934 graduate of Darlington High School. She had lived in Hillsboro for 61 years.
Dorothy was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. She had worked in the Cafeteria at Hillsboro High School.
Dorothy married Ernest P. Jahnke on October 17, 1937 in Darlington. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly (husband-Dale) Keeling of Veedersburg; a son, Larry (wife-Shirley) Jahnke of Corpus Christi, TX; a brother, Jack Self of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Ada Pickerling, Virginia Anglin and Flossie Tonda, all of Sarasota, FL; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence and Kathren.
Friends may call at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church on Monday, January 8, from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. A gravesite service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, on Monday at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dorman Winger officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro will be handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Arrison Lee Booe & Brayden Ramonte Booe, Westville, IL
Arrison Lee Booe, age 4 and Brayden Ramonte Booe, age 2, of 121 Wisconsin St., Westville, IL, died in a house fire at their home on Friday, January 5, 2007.
Arrison Lee Booe was born in Indianapolis, IN, on October 16, 2002.
Brayden Ramonte Booe was born in Lafayette, IN, on September 21, 2004.
These boys are the sons of Felix Elorza and Jennifer Lee Booe. They are also survived by a twin brother of Arrison, Addison Booe; grandparents, Larry & Kimberly Booe of Attica; Brenda & Paul Kearschner, Shelburn, great grandfather, Paul Booe, Attica; great grandparents, Jesse & Sharon Stockwell, Terre Haute, IN; aunt, D.J. Booe, Attica; uncles, Josh Booe, Shelburn, IN and David Hanover, Attica; Chris & Shelly Hinkle, whom the boys referred to as uncle and aunt.

Rev. Chris Yazel officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN.

Carrie Jenelle (Foxworthy) Duncan, Hillsboro
Carrie Jenelle (Foxworthy) Duncan, 28, Hillsboro, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at her residence in Hillsboro.
Carrie was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on October 29, 1978. She was the daughter of the Fred L. Foxworthy and the late Susan A. Wagoner Foxworthy, who died April 25, 2001. She lived in Hillsboro, graduating from Fountain Central High School in 1997.
Carrie was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her father, Fred L. Foxworthy, Hillsboro; two sons, Dylan Duncan, West Lebanon; Jakob VanPelt, Clarks Hill, IN; a sister, Alyssa S. Foxworthy, Portland Arch; two brothers, Rodney L. (wife-Hollie) Foxworthy, Hillsboro; Ryan P. Foxworthy, Houston, TX; grandparents, Harold & Pat Wagoner, Hillsboro. Several aunts and uncles; two nieces and a nephew.
Friends may call at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, January 13th, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. (noon), with Pastors Greg McDonald and Linda Lawler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Larry D. Hill, Williamsport
Larry D. Hill, 59, Williamsport, died in the Home Hospital, Lafayette, on Friday, January 12, 2007, at 3:15 p.m.
Larry was born in Sikeston, Missouri, on September 3, 1947. He was the son of the late Jack and Ruth Bryant Hill. He has lived most of his life in Williamsport and attended Seeger High School.
He was formerly married to Vicki Newman. On October 9, 1998, Larry married Jane (McCutchan) Combs in Lafayette, Indiana. She survives.
Larry worked for 31 years at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica. Larry worked as a hand grinder for many years and at the time of his retirement in 1997, due to disability, he was a line foreman.
He was a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Kramer. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was an avid poker player.
Surviving besides his wife are his five children, Lori (husband-Adam) Pate, Pine Village; Michael (wife-Megan) Hill, Lafayette; Tyler Hill, Williamsport; Stephanie Bartlett (fiancé - Brandon Lock), of Covington; Paul (wife-Charity) Combs, West Lebanon; 8 grandchildren, Dakota Bartlett, Skylar Hill, Brooke and Brice Combs, Cole Lock, Michelle, Jordan and Kira Bailiff; a brother, Joseph Hill, Lafayette; four sisters, Marilyn (husband-David) Roach, Betty (husband-Hobert) Strunk and Virginia Trammel, all of Attica; Shellie (husband-Rick) Cup-Jones, Newton, IA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vickie Watterson and Jackie Mediate along with an infant brother, Jackie “JR”.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, Jan. 15th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Baham officiating. Burial with military gravesite services will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
