Charles Louie, Jr. Rudd
ROCHESTER -- Charles Louie Rudd Jr., 85, of Rochester, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20,
2010 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He is survived by his wife Jan; sons, Roy (Lucinda) Rudd of Rochester and Robert (Karen) Rudd
of Akron; seven grandchildren; and brothers, James (Thelma) Rudd of Rochester, and Dale
(Sandy) Rudd of Wash.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Audrie Mae (Hensley) Wright
PLYMOUTH -- Audrie Mae (Hensley) Wright, 86, Oakhill Avenue, Plymouth, formerly of Argos,
died at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, following a lengthy
illness.
She was born Dec. 2, 1924 in Breathitt County, Ky. To Shelton and Zilla (Dyer) Hensley. She had
lived in the Argos community since 1950 coming from Breathitt County, Ky.
She married
Samuel Wright Oct. 30, 1943 in Breathitt County, Ky. And was a homemaker. She
was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Argos.
She is survived by her children: Harold Wright and wife Joyce of Argos, Helen Epley of Kentucky,
Sandy Schori and husband Ken of Argos, Wanda Lloyd and husband Fred of Culver, Rita
Pennington and husband David of Argos, John Wright, Jack Wright and wife Sarah of Culver,
Joe Wright of Florida, and Janice Wright of Kentucky; 32 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren;
a great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Beatrice Patrick and husband Manifee of Magoffin County,
Ky., and Faye Duff and husband Carl of Argos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Wright; two daughters, Lorena
Fritters and Elizabeth Wright; son, Jammie Wright; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; a
sister, Della Wright; and brothers: Willard, Carl, John, and Clay Hensley.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ,
15676 Michigan Rd., Argos.
Funeral services will take place at noon Thursday at the church, with Rev. Lloyd Howard
officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Jacob "Jake" Borkholder
NEW PARIS -- Jacob “Jake” Borkholder, 66, of New Paris, died at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21,
2010 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Mae; daughters: Loretta (Kenny) Yoder of Milford, Edith
(Vernon) Slabaugh of Nappanee, and Sharon (Carl) Miller of New Paris; sons: Lavon (Katie)
Borkholder of Millersburg, Olen (Lois) Borkholder of Milford, and Leon (Laura) Borkholder of
Nappanee; 30 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers: Perry Borkholder of Etna
Green, Oba (Laura) Borkholder of Mendon, Mich., Melvin (Linda) Borkholder of Milford, and
Larry (Susie) Borkholder of Topeka; and sisters: Ada (Monroe) Miller of Nappanee, Ann Miller of
Burr Oak, Mich., Katie (Vernon) Hochstetler of Centerville, Mich., Clara (Marvin) Miller of
Centerville, Mich., and Mary Borkholder of Wisconsin.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at Mt. Tabor Fellowship Hall.
Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24 at Mt. Tabor.
Burial will follow at Fairview Amish Mennonite Church cemetery.

Mary Edith Craig
WAKARUSA -- Mary Edith Craig, 97, of Wakarusa, formerly of Bremen, died Tuesday, Dec. 21,
2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by sisters: Esther Craig of South Bend, Alice Newsom of Fort Myers, Fla., Edna
Gibboney of Elgin, Ill., and Wilma Rolston of South Bend.
A memorial service will take place at a later date with burial at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in
Bourbon.

Mildred Clemons
KNOX -- Mildred Clemons, 89, of Knox, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at Starke Memorial
Hospital.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois (Larry) Kinsinger of Hamlet; sons, Lorenzo (Darlene) Watson
of Phoenix, Ariz. And Ronald (Pam) Clemons of Lakeville; brothers, Willard (JoAnn) Minix of
Granger and Herbert (Deloris) Minix of Rochester; and a half-sister, Donna (Greg) Stiles of
Plymouth.
Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27 at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel,
Knox. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.
Franklyn J. “Frank” Deisch
SOUTH BEND -- Franklyn J. “Frank” Deisch, 85, passed away at 8:36 a.m. at his residence.
Frank was born on April 21, 1925, in German Township, Bremen, to Frank H. and Fairie A.
(Heckaman) Deisch. His wife, Phyllis (Clark), died April 13, 1982. Five brothers, Lester, Lloyd,
Roscoe, Dallas and Virgil; a sister, Marjorie Leets; and a great-granddaughter, Kamdin Deisch
preceded him in death. Surviving are three children, Jane Ann (Kenneth) Thompson of South
Bend, David (Fortune) Deisch of Nappanee and Melinda (Johnny Grantham) Badman of
Osceola. Also surviving are six grandchildren; David (Tonya) Thompson of Jimtown, Erica Deich
of Nappanee, Casey (Sundown) Deisch of Wakarusa, Katrina (Jeff) Swartz of Chapel Hill, N.C.,
Dustin (Tonya) Badman of Elkhart and Nicole (John) Phillips of Bristol. Six great-grandchildren
also survive: Kayla Thompson of Jimtown, Greyson Deisch of Wakarusa, Isabella of Chapel Hill,
N.C., MacKenzie Badman of Wadsworth, Ill., Korey Alexander of McClellanville, S.C., and
Autumn Badman of Elkhart.
Frank was founder, president and chairman of the board of Desco Chemical Corp. of Nappanee
until it was sold to Brayton Chemical of West Burlington, Iowa, in 1983 and later to Wilbur-Ellis
Corp. of San Francisco, Calif. The company, which Frank founded in 1948, began as Deisch
Supply Co., a paint and garden supply store in Nappanee. It grew to become a leading supplier
of agricultural chemicals in the Midwest with 14 branches operating in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and
Michigan. Frank was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, South Bend; South Bend
Lions Club (Lion of the Year in 1986-87); South Bend Elks Lodge 235; Elkhart Moose Lodge
599; Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend; Orak Shrine Temple, Michigan City; and South Bend
Shrine Club, South Bend.
He was past president of the Nappanee Lions Club and past vice president of Nappanee Utilities
Co. and the Nappanee Public Library. He served as Indiana State license branch manager at
Nappanee from 1948-50, was on the Elkhart county election board for years and was active in
various political activities and commissioner boards for more than 30 years. He served on the
University of Notre Dame Hesburgh Library advisory council from 1983 to 1998 and was a
member of the Edward Sorin Society, University of Notre Dame.
In later years, he was active in genealogy, writing and publishing two ancestral books. He was a
life-long Notre Dame fan and loved Boston Terrier dogs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday Dec. 28, in Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road. Visitation was
held in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
and will be one hour prior to services today.
Burial will be at Bremen cemetery.

Mildred A. Wagoner
ROCHESTER -- Mildred A. Wagoner, 95, of Rochester, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22,
2010 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She is survived by daughters, Betty Ann (Richard) Hassenplug of Rochester and Janice (Larry)
Zellers of LaFountain; son, David Wagoner of Rochester; sisters, Mable Wagoner of Rochester
and Vernice Rhoades of Rochester; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Good Family Funeral
Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Linda L. (Grubbs) Price
LAPAZ -- Linda L. (Grubbs) Price, 62, of LaPaz, died Dec. 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
She is survived by sons, Rick Willard of Alabama, Jim (Jane) Williams of Plymouth, Terry
(Angel) Price of Walkerton; daughters, Pamela Hutchins of Kokomo and Tracy (Anthony) Boulas
of Argos; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Michael Grubbs of Plymouth; and a
sister, Sherry Lowry of Plymouth.
Visitation took place from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030
S.R. #331, Bremen.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial followed at Bremen cemetery.

Robert C. Hickman
BREMEN -- Robert C. “Bob” Hickman, 72, of Bremen, passed away Dec. 24, 2010 at
Community Hospital of Bremen.
He was born Nov. 11, 1939 in Homer, Neb. To Joseph and Gladys (Queen) Hickman. April 6,
1963, he married
Susan “Sue” Welch, and she survives.
Robert was a graduate of Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a U.S. Marine
Veteran and he retired from the Engineering Department at Hehr International in Plymouth after
37 years. He enjoyed spending time with his six grandsons.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Hickman of Bremen; a daughter, Kim (Norm) Sellers of
Wakarusa; a son, Kevin (Heidi) Hickman of Bremen; and six grandsons: Trent, Chad and Kyle
Sellers, and Dawson, Camden and Maddux Hickman. Also surviving are four sisters: Phyllis
Nelson of Santee, Calif., Mary (Lyle) Brennen of Springfield, Mo., Shirley (Don) Fender of
Whichita, Kas., and Dorothy Weidner of Sioux City, Iowa; and a brother, Les (Eva) Hickman of
Santee, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rose Loraditch and Virginia Burns; and a
brother, Al Hickman.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Misher Funeral Home, 2030 S. R.
#331, Bremen. Burial will be in the Bremen cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

George E. Hilliard
PLYMOUTH -- George E. Hilliard, age 86, of Pretty Lake Trail, Plymouth, passed away at 1 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
George was born July 14, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Mich. To Dr. George H. and Edna (Marlatt)
Hilliard. George received his B.S. from Western Michigan University and earned his M.S. from
University of Michigan. George proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Navy
during WWII on the U.S.S. Boston and remained active in the Navy Reserves until 1984.
George was very active in his community and church. He was president of the District 144
School Board and a member of the District 228 School Board in the southern suburbs of
Chicago. He served as election judge for many years.
At the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Flossmoor, Ill., he served as a member of the vestry,
served as a lay reader, and sang in the choir. He wrote and played piano for several musicals at
the church and played the organ at church. After retirement, he was the treasurer of the preschool
located at St. John’s.
He retired as a Project Manager from A. Epstein & Sons in Chicago, Ill. He was also active in
helping his son, David, start his own business, IDEAS Advertising, Inc. in Chicago.
George and Jean had their primary residence in Hazel Crest, Ill. And owned a family home in
Plymouth, on Pretty Lake. In 2006 they moved to their Plymouth home permanently.
George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (Jones) Hilliard of Plymouth; their daughter,
Anne Hilliard, of Fishers; their son, David Hilliard and his wife Nichole of Aurora, Ill.; his
granddaughter, Rebecca Hilliard of Aurora, Ill.; his daughter-in-law, Karen Hilliard (Jeffrey) of
Vienna, Va.; and his sister and brother.
George was preceded in death by his sons, Stephen and LCDR Jeffrey Hilliard.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in
Flossmoor, Ill.
A short reception will be held following the service.
