He is survived by his wife Jean; a son Rick (Libby) Albert of Warsaw; daughters, Paula (Roger)
Miller of North Webster and Lorraine (John Jr.) Anglin, of Warsaw; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
brothers, Louis Albert and Larry Albert, both of LaPaz; and a sister Luella Staner
of Redlion, Pa.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford.
Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Stony Point cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clunette United Methodist Church or the Amyloidal Research Center.

Jack E. Parker
KENDALLVILLE -- Jack E. Parker, 76, of Kendallville, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in his residence.
He is survived by his wife, G. Eileen Parker; daughters, Kelly (Kenneth) Miller of Garrett and Amy
Gulbranson of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Garry (Sara) Polakovic of LaOtto; a stepdaughter,
Jeannie Polakovic of Winamac; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers,
Alton Parker of Albion and John (Esther) Parker of Woodburn.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Young Family Funeral Home,
Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. State St., Kendallville. An Elks Lodge service will be conducted at 6
p.m. with a prayer vigil to follow.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, Kendallville.
Burial will be in Lake View cemetery, Kendallville with military graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Cancer Fund, Knights of Columbus Gibault
School, or Parkview Noble Hospice.

Eugene "Gene" Carithers
BREMEN -- Eugene “Gene” Carithers, 85, of Bremen, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at the
Bremen Health Care Center.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Carithers; and sisters, Mary Jo Luke of Goshen and Ruth Smith
of Ligonier.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.

Virginia D. Colin
WALKERTON -- Virginia D. Colin, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
She is survived by her sons: Louis Seitz of Elmwood Park, Ill., William (Yvonne) Colin of
Walkerton, and Robert (Maureen) Colin of Carmel; stepson, Donald (Susan) Colin of Las Vegas;
three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (ET) Friday, Dec. 10 at Rannells Funeral Home,
Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

Sister Jeannette, PHJC Cyr
DONALDSON -- Sister Jeanette Cyr, PHJC, 96 years old, died of natural causes at 12:15 p.m.
in the Catherine Kasper Life Center Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010.
Sister Jeanette was born, the daughter of Stephen and Milanese Patnaude Cyr, in Fowler, Ind.
June 21, 1914. She entered the Poor Hand Maids Convent Dec. 7, 1930 and professed her vows June 25, 1933.
She was educated and trained in home nursing and social services. Her ministry in life was as a
kindergarten teacher, an office manager and bookkeeper and home nursing with a ministry to the elderly.
Sister Jeanette is survived by a brother, the Rev. Lawrence Cyr, CPPS, Liberty, Mo., and by a
sister-in-law, Esther Cyr. Many nieces and nephews survive as well.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 10, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. (EST) in the Catherine Kasper Home
Chapel, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held for Sister Jeanette Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. (EST)
in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel. The celebrants will be the Rev. Lawrence S. Cyr, the
Rev. Martin Kirk, CMF and the Rev. Ed Konerman.
Interment will be in the Mount Carmel cemetery, Donaldson.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Morris
NAPPANEE -- Ruby Morris, 87, of Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee, died Tuesday, Dec. 7,
2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She is survived by a daughter, Cherryl L. (Robert) Jensen of Nappanee; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Freeman; and an aunt, Jenny Caldwell.
Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at Union Center cemetery,
Nappanee. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home are assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert A. “Bob” Richard
PLYMOUTH -- Robert A. “Bob” Richard, 74, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 in the
Life Care Center at Rochester, due to natural causes. It was fitting that he should receive his
Heavenly Reward on the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception in honor of Christ’s mother
Mary, as he always held great devotion to her.
The son of Charles A. and Agnes H. (Crist) Richard, Bob was born at home on the farm, the
youngest of 10 children on a cold 29th day of February in 1936. Bob was an exceptionally gifted
child who graduated from St. Michael Elementary School and was the Valedictorian of his Argos
High School Class in 1954. Bob then graduated with honors from the International College of
Commerce in Fort Wayne.
Bob went on to work for the Farnsworth Electronics Co. in Fort Wayne. He felt called to the
ministry and entered the seminary. Although he did not continue into the priesthood, Bob led a
devote life filled with the Spirit.
A lifetime member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Bob served as an usher for many years.
Survivors include two brothers, Lewis Richard of Plymouth and Raymond Richard of South
Bend; and two sisters, Lucy Schlosser of Plymouth and Judy Stevenson of Bayfield, Colo.; as
well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Martha Zeiger Barker, Loyola Davis, Mary
Richard, Joseph Richard, and George Richard.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. where a
Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 in St. Michael Catholic
Church, 613 N. Center Street, Plymouth, where friends may call after 10 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Michael Parish, 612 N. Walnut Street, Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Gary L. Hawk
HAMLET -- Gary L. Hawk, 58, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 in his home of a sudden illness.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Carrie Ann (Michael) Avery of Hamlet and Jennifer
(Curt) Benge of Plainfield; five grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Dec. 12 and one hour prior to services
Monday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. (CT) Monday, Dec. 13 at the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow at the Grovertown cemetery where military graveside services will be
conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Connie L. McCuddy
PLYMOUTH -- Connie L. McCuddy, 81, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 in Miller’s Merry
Manor, Walkerton.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Ann (Keith) D. Dyer of Lakeville; a son Robert L. (Jody)
McCuddy of South Bend; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka.

Tini C. "Tina" McKnight
MICHIGAN CITY -- Tini C. “Tina” McKnight, 66, Michigan City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9,
2010 at 3:52 a.m. in St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Evergreen Baptist Church, 2005
Coolspring Ave., Michigan City, with the Rev. Jonathan A. Rumley officiating.
Cremation took place and ashes will be interred privately.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418
Washington St., Michigan City, and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
She was born June 15, 1944 in Grand Forks, N.D. to the late Gottlieb and Elnora (McCullough)
Lautt.
Surviving are two daughters, Erin (Daniel) Nall and Shannon (Eric) Mokrycki, both of Michigan
City; a son, Christopher (Shannon) McKnight of LaPorte; a sister, Judith Sutton of Rochester;
two brothers, Glen Lautt of Geraldine, Mont. And George Lautt of Panama Beach, Fla.; five
grandchildren: McKenzie, Kathleen, and Connor McKnight and Cody and Danielle West. She
was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Ardell Lautt.
She retired as a registered nurse from Franciscan Home & Community Services. She was a
member of Evergreen Baptist Church where she was very active in the Mission Committee &
Fidelia Guild, Church Choir, AWANA, and was the parish nurse. She also was a volunteer
literacy tutor at Michigan City Public Library and a camp nurse at Twin Lakes Baptist Youth
Camp in Hillsboro. She enjoyed doll making, water color painting, and arts and crafts.
Contributions may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 2005 Coolspring Ave., Michigan City,
IN, 46360, or to the Twin Lakes Baptist Youth Camp, 1451 E. Twin Lakes Rd., Hillsboro, IN,
47949.

Wayne Eldon Slabaugh
NAPPANEE -- Wayne Eldon Slabaugh, 79, Nappanee, died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9,
2010 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Patricia; sons, Randall (Jo Lynn) Slabaugh of Nappanee and Stephen
Slabaugh of Nappanee; a daughter, Carla (Ken) Becker of Sweetwater, Texas; three
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Max (Shirley) Slabaugh of Goshen; sisters,
Mary Crowe of Bremen, Jo Anne Kroft of Ashland, Ohio and Rita Moore of Nappanee; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at South Union cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church or Goshen Health Care and Hospice.

Gerald J. Fingerhut
KNOX -- Gerald J. Fingerhut, 71, North Judson, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at Starke Memorial
Hospital, Knox.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Lisa (Richard) Brettin of Plymouth and Marsha
(Michael) Reimbold of North Judson; son, Bruce Fingerhut of North Judson; brothers, Kenneth
Fingerhut of Elwood, Neb. And Keith A. Fingerhut of North Judson; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation took place from 3 to 6 p.m. (CT) Sunday, Dec. 12 at O’Donnell Funeral Home Inc.,
North Judson. Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home.
Burial followed at Highland cemetery, North Judson.

Terry C. Hall
BREMEN -- Lake of the Woods resident Terry C. Hall, 71, a devoted family man and dedicated
professional, has passed away following a one year illness at 4:58 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 in
the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
Terry was born in McHenry, Ky. Aug. 2, 1939, the son of Oswald S. “Buck” and Susan Isabelle
(Carman) Hall. At the age of two the family moved to Indiana and he would graduate from Griffith
High School in 1957 and then earned an associate degree from Purdue in Electrical Technology.
Later he would follow his desire to interact with people and attained his certificate from the
Chicago Barber School. He clipped and styled alongside his brother at Oz’s Barber Shop in
Highland, Ind. Even after he and his wife Linda moved to Bremen in 1975, Terry commuted
every working day back to Highland to serve his clients until 1980 when he opened a shop in
Plymouth. Terry’s Barber Shop served the community for 30 years from two locations.
Terry would have been honored in January as a 50-year member of the Griffith Masonic Lodge
No. 735 F & AM. With his wife Linda he faithfully attended St. Michael Church in Plymouth. He
was a past president of the Highland Adult Boosters Club.
Terry loved people, especially his family with whom he shared countless stories and practical
jokes. He held true to high standards and values in life and served as a role model for his
children and grandchildren.
Living on the lake brought Terry many joyful times with family and friends, either on his sailboat
or pontoon. He was an accomplished skier, fisherman, bowler and golfer. He had an
appreciation for cars, trains and Coca-Cola collectibles. Terry was known for always having a
“project” going in the family garage.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L. (Murphy) Hall, whom he married April 8, 1967 in Highland,
together they enjoyed 43 wonderful years. Their surviving family members include a daughter,
Kimberly A. (Anthony) Patton of South Bend and children: Andrea, Alex and Noah; a son, James
R. (Susan Sheridan-Hall) Hall of Mishawaka, and children, Brandon and Ryan. His sister, Janet
C. (Ronald) Adams of Andrews, Ind.; and sister-in-law, Alvina “May” Hall of New Smyrna Beach,
Fla. Survives; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Oswald N. “Oz” Hall.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home following visitation at 8 p.m.
provided by members of Plymouth Kilwinning Lodge No. 149.
Services will be held in the funeral home Thursday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. EDT with Pastor Mark
Waltz of the Granger Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, 112 S. Center St. Plymouth, IN, 46563.
