Betty Colacicco
ROCHESTER -- Betty Colacicco, 82, of Rochester, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010
at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
She is survived by sons: William Steelman of Philadelphia, Penn., Ron Steelman of Rochester,
Anthony Colacicco of Rochester; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a niece.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at the Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to Hickory Creek Health Care Center.

Ruth M. Parker
MUNCIE -- Ruth M. Parker, 88, formerly of Bremen, died Sept. 20, 2010 of complications from
a stroke at Parkview Nursing Center in Muncie. A graveside ceremony will take place at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 12 in Bremen cemetery.

Marcella P. White
CULVER -- Marcella P. White, 88, of Culver, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Sept. 20, 2010 at
Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver.
Marcella was born May 30, 1922 at home in rural Starke County. She was one of six children
born to Oscar and Nellie (Duddelson) Zechiel. After graduating from Culver Comm. High School
she fell in love and married Jesse White Nov. 14, 1942. Together they raised three sons.
Marcella and her sister Mildred owned and operated the M & M Restaurant in downtown Culver
for 19 years. Marcella enjoyed shopping and cooking for others. She also loved gardening and
was a faithful member and servant of the Lord in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in
Culver.
Marcella is survived by her sons: Paul (Lonni) White of Roanoke, Ind., Philip (Kathy) White of
LaPaz, and Perry (Becky) White of Peoria, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Alvin and Zina Zechiel; sisters,
Mildred Ditmire and Emma Hepler; and a twin brother who died at birth.
A gathering of remembrance with Marcella’s family will be held Thursday, Sept 23, 2010 at the
Odom Funeral Home in Culver from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT. Rev. Ron Lewellen will officiate funeral
services at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept 24, at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, S. Main Street in
Culver.
Interment will follow at the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Marcella’s memory to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church or the
American Heart Association.
The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is entrusted with the arrangements.

Helen Irene DeForest
WALKERTON -- Helen Irene DeForest, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Survivors include two brothers, Russell (Stella) Frazier of South Bend and Daniel (Phyllis)
Frazier of Walkerton and 11 nieces and eleven nephews.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. (EST) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel, where friends may visit with the family 10 a.m. EST until the time of services.

Frances L. Hesch
BREMEN -- Frances L. Hesch, 86, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at the
Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born Oct. 30, 1923 in Kosciusko County to Alfonzo and
Stella Zentz. She was married to William P. Hesch, who preceded her in death in 1981.
Frances worked for Selmer Company in Elkhart and enjoyed playing euchre. She was a member
of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Woodland.
Survivors include son Rick (Gina) Hesch of Lakeville, daughter Pam (Dale Klapp) Berkey of
Bremen, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Peggy Woodworth, infant son
Tommy, one brother and one sister.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the Mishler Funeral Home in
Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Neil Wonnacott. Burial will follow at the Resthaven
cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Irene B. Listenberger
Hibbard – Irene B. Listenberger, 79, of Hibbard, passed away at 4:48 a.m. Sept 21, 2010 at Our
Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka.
Irene was born July 25, 1931 near Hibbard. She was one of six children born to Floyd and Lavina
(Rosebaum) Triplet. She attended school in Hibbard.
Irene then fell in love and married Ward “Bud” Listenberger on Jan 31, 1948 in Hibbard.
Together they raised four children. Ward preceded her in death in November 1989.
Irene was a longtime cook for the Culver Community School Corp., starting at the elementary
school and finally retiring from the high school. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and
gardening. She was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for her family. Irene also
enjoyed many good times drinking coffee and visiting with friends at Hansen’s Restaurant in
Culver. She was a very giving lady who will be dearly missed.
Irene is survived by her sons Terry (Jo Lynn) of Culver and Steven Listenberger of Hibbard;
daughter Sandra, also of Hibbard; sister Rose Meadows of Bourbon, grandchildren Mindy (Kelly)
Hoffman of Culver and Chad Listenberger of Mishawaka; and great grandchildren Kagnie and
Karsen Hoffman of Culver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Linda Listenberger, brothers
Donnie, Roy, Bob, and Alvin Triplet, and grandson Daniel Clark.
A gathering of remembrance will be held Friday, Sept. 24 at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver,
from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will follow Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials
may be given for her children, Steven and Sandy.
The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is entrusted with arrangements.

Rhonda Kay Palmer
Rhonda Kay Palmer, 59, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the home of her parents, Tom and Ladonna
Nicklaus, after a three-year battle with cancer.
Rhonda is survived by her parents, Tom and Ladonna Nicklaus of Rochester; and a sister, Rhea
Sherwood and husband Russell of Missouri, Texas.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St.,
Rochester.
Services are at 7 p.m. Monday, with Chaplain Martha Cory officiating. Burial will be at Rochester
IOOF cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hope Hosoice of Fulton County.

Geraldine M. Hoeffler
PLYMOUTH -- Geraldine M. “Gerry” Hoeffler, 83, 16492 Pretty View Drive, Plymouth, passed
away Wednesday afternoon in the Our Lady of Peace Hospital, Mishawaka.
Her death came unexpected to her family who has long witnessed her battle of multiple illnesses
with courage and dignity while never uttering a word of complaint.
Gerry was born Aug. 5, 1927 in Royal Oak, Mich., the daughter of Frank and Marie Ferguson.
The family moved to Lapeer, Mich. Where she graduated from high school in 1944. She grew up
a Detroit Tiger fan and first baseman Hank Greenberg was her favorite player.
With a nurturing heart, Gerry enrolled at Wayne State University and entered the Army Nurse’s
Training Program attaining her practical experience at Grace Hospital. Following graduation her
first assignment was at the V.A. Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. While there she attended
Michigan’s win in the Rose Bowl and when the goal post was coming down she took a splinter as
a souvenir.
A niece’s illness with Cystic Fibrosis brought Gerry back home to Michigan. Upon that return she
met her husband-to-be, Calvin A. Hoeffler. They chose the perfect little church in Dearborn and
were wed Oct. 2, 1954. Together they experienced 56 joyful years. They began a family and
raised two sons, all while Gerry maintained her nursing career. Gerry performed volunteer work
with her church guild and community and developed strong friendships that remain even today.
In 2006 the couple moved to Plymouth to be ever closer to family.
Her beloved family includes her loving husband, Calvin; two sons and their attentive spouses:
Mark K. and Anne Hoeffler of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Douglas A. and Marie Hoeffler of
Plymouth; and the three grandchildren she doted over: Jessica, Calvin and Kelly. Retirement
allowed her to attend their every activity.
Also surviving is a sister, Nancy Brown of St. Johns, Mich.; and a brother, Gordon and his wife
Elon Ferguson of Belleville, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Patricia Pearson.
There are no services or visitation planned at this time.
Memorial gifts in memory of Gerry may be given to St. Michael School Improvement Fund, 612
N. Walnut St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Jim Blevins
WALKERTON -- Jim Blevins, 62, of Walkerton, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010.
He is survived by his mother, Louise Ellison of Hammond; a brother, William (Susan) Blevins of
Stevenson, Ala.; a sister, Cathy Comforti of Hammond; a son, Scott Lindsey of Missouri;
daughters, Lori (Mark) Landers of Decatur, Ala. And Mary (Tom) O’Connor of Koontz Lake; and
four grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EDT) Thursday,
Sept. 30 in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in
Woodlawn cemetery.

Herman Booker
BREMEN -- Herman Booker, 84, of Bremen, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at his
home in Bremen.
He was born Nov. 10, 1925 in Marshall County to Delma E. & Rosetta (Ervin) Booker. June 27,
1953 he married Joyce Beane; she survives. He and his wife lived in their same Bremen home
for their entire married lives.
Herman graduated from Bourbon High School in 1944 and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in
the Korean War. He retired from Bremen Castings after 42 years of service. He was a member
of the Bremen VFW; he was a bowler, golfer, fisherman, and hunter; played softball; and loved
to hunt mushrooms.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Bremen; son, Lester (Deb) Booker of Bremen; daughter,
Gail Ann Bope of Bremen; grandchildren: Chad Booker, Dana Davis and Mark Bope, Tim Bope,
Brenda Haas, Dawn Bice and families; great-grandchildren: Lexy, Skyler, Shianne, Zachary,
Amberlynn, Courtney and Kyle; a sister, Linda (Bob) Stoneburner of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Opal Huffman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen
and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Hinkle.
Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery with military honors.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society.

Marjorie Reamer Clarke
KOONTZ LAKE -- Marjorie Reamer Clarke, 95, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Miller's Merry
Manor, Plymouth.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (David) Arndt of Koontz Lake; many grandchildren, great grandchildren
and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Hay of Galva, Ill.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.

Delbert G. Hall
ARGOS -- Delbert G. Hall, age 68, of 18465 Michigan Road, Argos, IN, 46501, passed away at
3:39 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
Delbert was born Nov. 3, 1941, in Pulaski County, Ind. To John and Katie (Ludwig) Hall. Sept.
27, 1960, Delbert, and the former Martha Ann Himes, were united in marriage in Plymouth.
Together they raised their four children. Delbert retired from Van's Moving and Storage
Company, in Plymouth, and Standard Motors, in Mishawaka. Although Delbert enjoyed moving
families into their new homes, his favorite pastime was spending time with his children and
grandchildren.
Delbert is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Martha Ann Hall; their daughter, Penny
(Bill) Davis of Argos; their sons: DeWayne (Rhonda) Hall of Argos, Robert Hall of Argos, and
LeRoy (Shelly) Hall of Argos; his sisters, Shirley Conley of Elkhart, Deloris Dipert of Plymouth,
and Sharon (Jim) Stanley of Plymouth; his brothers, Jim Pike of Plymouth and Ronnie (Bonnie)
Pike of Elkhart; his mother, Katie Pike of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren,
with one more on the way.
VISITATION: SUNDAY, SEPT. 26, 2010, 3 to 5 P.M.
