Rex, Sr. Allen
PLYMOUTH -- Rex Allen, Sr., 61, died of natural causes at his home at 2 a.m. Wednesday,
Sept. I5, 2010.
Born Feb. 5, 1949, in Curtis, Mich., Rex was the son of Alvin and Marian Etoile Griffith Allen.
Dec. 24, 1966, in Knox, Rex took Nancy Gilbert as his bride.
Rex worked and retired from the Indiana State Highway Department. He was a foreman and
heavy equipment supervisor and worked there for 23 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and collecting antique firearms, coins and stamps. An
outdoor person, he delighted in being outside and one with nature. He also had great love for his
children and grandchildren. He was a member of the N.R.A.
Rex is survived by his devoted wife Nancy, Plymouth; and by daughters, Coni (Jay) Dubois of
Houma, La. And Tonia (John) Gould of Camarillo, Calif.; a son, Rex Allen Jr. of Culver; seven
grandchildren: Kayla, Kasey, Bobbie Campbell, Whitrey and Miles Gould, Josie and Keegan
Allen; and one great-grandchild, McKenzie Lawton.
Two sisters, Gracie Cole of Plymouth and Bonnie (Ronnie) Lee of Argos; and two brothers, Pat
(Pam) Allen and Russ (Georgia) Allen of Rochester survive as well.
Rex was preceded in death by one grandchild, Dustin Adam Allen, and four sisters: Anna May
Cole, Barbara McAlpine, Georgia Ash, all from Michigan, and Roseman Swan of Indiana. Two
brothers, Francis Griffin of Florida and George (Butch) Allen of Michigan have also died.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, Sept. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. in Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. immediately following visitation.
Burial will take place at a later date in the Burr Oak cemetery in Culver.
Memorial contributions in Rex’s name can be given to Nancy Allen through the funeral home.
Glenna H. Andrews
WAKARUSA -- Glenna H. Andrews, 93, Nappanee, died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15,
2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She is survived by a son, Larry Andrews of Nappanee; a daughter-in-law, Sheri (Rich) Dodson of
Nappanee; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 and one hour prior to
services Monday, at Union Center Church of the Brethren.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20 at the church.
Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Alexander Mack.

Patricia Collums
ELKHART -- Patricia Collums, 80, of Bremen, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at Center for
Hospice, Elkhart.
She is survived by daughters, Marika (Timothy) Kunder of Bremen and Cindie (Jack) Shumaker
of Grand Island, Fla.; sons, Allen (Arlie) Wardlow of Albertville, Ala.; 33 grandchildren; many
great- and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Carey of Frostproof, Fla. And Lou
Kincade of Cicero; four stepdaughters; and a stepson.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 and one hour prior to services
Saturday at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 S.R. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice, Elkhart, or the American Cancer
Society.
Patricia Ann (Conner) Mundinger
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Patricia Ann (Conner) Mundinger, beloved mother and grandmother,
passed away early Sept. 15, 2010 due to advanced Alzheimer’s. She suffered from this terrible
disease for the last 10 years. The youngest of eight children born in Ft. Branch, Ind., the family
moved to Beecher, Ill. where she also went to high school. Captain of her cheerleading squad
and graduating in 1960, she married
Clifford E. Mundinger in August of 1962, and moved to Park
Forrest Ill. in 1969, where she worked as a bookkeeper for a car dealership until the family
moved to Plymouth in 1978.
With bowling a passion, she worked at Quick’s Lanes throughout the 80s and eventually opening
up JR’s Lanes & Lounge Family Fun Center in Crown Point, Ind., in January 1992.
Active in foster care and helping underprivileged children, she became ME’MA in June 1994
when her first grandson was born. She was blessed with two more.
Forced to retire from St. Thomas More Church in Tallahassee, Fla. During 2002 due to the onset
of Alzheimer’s, she was cared for at home by her husband of 45 years.
Pat is survived by two sons, Cliff Jr., (Debi) and Richard (Clare), three grandsons: Jonathan,
Christian and Mathew and many other "adopted" kids she called her own.
A memorial service will be held Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. at 917 Jessica St., Tallahassee, FL, 32305.

Alex Clemons
WALKERTON -- Alex Clemons, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughters: Crystal (Randy) Givens of Walkerton, Juliet
(Rodney) Keeling of Plymouth, Janeen (Laszlo) Kovach of Granger, Cherie Marek of North
Liberty and Angela (Joseph) Clemons of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
and sister, Louise (Adam) Mann of Walkerton.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. (Eastern Time) Saturday, Sept. 18 at Rannells Funeral
Home, Koontz Lake Chapel and Sunday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 at Michiana Baptist Church, Walkerton.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton, where military graveside services will be
conducted.
Doris May Rovenstine
PLYMOUTH -- Doris May Rovenstine, 98, passed away at 12:10 a.m., of natural causes at
Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
A former resident of the communities of Bourbon and Bremen, she has made her home for the
past five years in the Miller’s Assisted Living Center in Plymouth.
She was born in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Jesse S. and Ethel (Campbell) Ward Aug. 7,
1912. She graduated from Crawfordsville High and then Indiana University – Bloomington with a
degree in social work. Following graduation she worked in Terre Haute, as a social worker.
May 1, 1937 in Lafayette, Doris became the bride of Clarence E. “Gene” Rovenstine who
preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2006. Together they enjoyed 68 years together and spent more
than 30 winters in various parts of Florida. Their passion was antiques. As dealers they bought,
sold and traded at numerous shows in the Midwest and Florida. Doris was most fond of dolls,
dishes and teapots.
A homemaker, Doris possessed a green thumb especially for African Violets. The couple
enjoyed bridge, golfing and bowling and after Gene’s passing, Doris continued a most active life.
She was known by her family to be adventurous, kind and gracious with a creative side and a gift
for writing.
She is survived by three loving daughters and their families. They are: Rosemary E. and Richard
Stutzman of Crawfordsville and their children, Belinda Hartzler and Tod Stutzman; Rita A. and
Roger Thayer of Argos, and their children, Robin Davidson, Pamelyn Eads and Jennifer Silva;
Roberta J. and Steve Mann of Osceola, and their children, Michael Mann and Matthew Mann;
and 14 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Preston and Marlynne Stutzman, Audrey and A.J. Hartzler,
Griffyn and Quentyn Carpenter, Braydon and Christin Davidson, and Caroline and Jake Eads,
Natalie, Nicole and Nathan Mann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; a granddaughter, Jill Carpenter; and a great granddaughter,
Madelyn Eads.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Ken Walker of the Argos
United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bremen cemetery.

Patti Jean Cox
PLYMOUTH – Patti J. Cox, 51, of 13616 6C Road died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn.
She was born Nov. 11, 1958 in South Bend, to David L. and Wilma Jean McGowan. Patti was a
1977 graduate of LaVille High School and attended college in Pittsburg, Pa., before graduating
from Michiana College of Commerce.
April 19, 1980 in Lakeville, she married
Jeffrey R. Cox; he died Feb. 22, 2008.
Patti worked for 16 years as a medical assistant at South Bend Orthopedic.
She enjoyed painting, drawing and reading novels. She also enjoyed traveling and was active in
the Plymouth Bowling League. Patti was an animal lover, she spent many hours walking her dog
Foxy Ann, whom she saved by adopting her. Another thing she enjoyed was ballroom dancing
with her beloved husband Jeff, and being with family and friends.
Patti is survived by her son, Christopher R. and Jessica K. Cox of Fort Mill, S.C.; brother, Dr.
Jack and Rose McGowan, Montgomery, Texas; sister, Suzanne and David Adams, Lakeville;
father-in-law, James R. Cox, Bremen; sister-in-law, Joetta and Greg Balsley; and brother-in-law,
Jerry and Cindy Cox, all of Plymouth. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
She is also survived by an aunt and uncle, Bud and Jean Mummert, Monticello; an aunt, Marilyn
Downs, Plymouth; and a cousin, Michael Downs, LaPaz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff; her parents; and her mother-in-law, Lucille Cox.
Friends are invited to a time of sharing with the family Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. in
the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home at 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Paul Hancy will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 10:30
a.m. in the Plymouth Wesleyan Church 11203 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Burial will be in the Bremen cemetery, Bremen.

the Marshall County Humane Society.
William N. Martin
GRANGER -- William “Bill” N. Martin, 71, of Granger, passed away at 1:41 p.m. Sunday, Sept.
19, 2010 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born Feb. 2, 1939 in Indianapolis, to William H. and Florence E. (Day) Martin. On June
7, 1970 in Vietnam, he married
Kim (Hoang Thi Kim) Martin, who survives.
He is also survived by daughter, Audrey (John) Cavinder of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Justin,
Jessica, Veronica and Stephanie; and brother, Ken Martin of Quincy, Ind.
A son, Jeffrey Alan Martin preceded him in death on July 23, 1993. A sister, Joyce Austin and
brother, Mitchell Martin also preceded him in death.
Mr. Martin served his country honorably in the United States Army in Vietnam. He retired in 2004
as the owner of Aabsolute Electric Company, Inc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, in the Palmer Funeral HomeGuisinger
Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend.
Military services and burial will follow in Southlawn cemetery, South Bend.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Richard K. Reese
PLYMOUTH -- Richard K. “Dick” Reese, 81, a resident of 10B Road for the past 56 years, died
at his home Sunday evening following an illness. Dick has been a lifetime Marshall County
resident.
He was born in Bremen, June 8, 1929 the son of David and Violet (Hepler) Reese.
Dick attended LaPaz High School and like many young men he enlisted in the armed forces with
the desire to serve his Country. From January of 1947 until June of 1948 he served as a Tech 5
in the U.S. Army.
July 25, 1947 he took the former Viola A. “Doddy” Kuskye as his bride in the Pretty Lake Trinity
United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death Sept. 4, 2005.
Dick was a carpenter most of his life and had been employed by Kent Reese Construction,
Strang Construction and Carroll Zartman Construction, but was always there to help family,
friends and neighbors when in need.
Some of his greatest joy came while working with his wife Doddy restoring and refinishing many
antiques they offered at The Old Barn Shop. He loved relaxing times spent with family, visits
over a cup of coffee, smoking his pipe, being outdoors hunting and fishing or simply riding his
scooter.
Surviving are two daughters, two sons, six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. They are:
Nancy S. and Bob Holtzman of Plymouth and their children, Melanie Clark, Mary Drew, Mechelle
Cascardo, Nicki Kauffman and Kelly Holtzman; daughter, Ricki J. and Joe Garrison of Plymouth
and their daughter Jacki Larimore; son Tony A. Reese of Plymouth; and son Richard K. Reese,
Jr. of South Bend.
A brother, Bill Reese of Bremen; sisters, Jane Ringle of Bremen and Joyce Manning of
Plymouth; and a sister-in-law, Jan Reese of Bremen, also survive as well as numerous nieces
and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; a grandson, Matthew Garrison; and a
brother. Bob Reese.
Visitation for Dick will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 in the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home where services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Charles Krieg
officiating.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
