Knox - Edna Mae Napier, 67, Knox, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Winter song Village nursing
home, Knox.
She is survived by sons: Roy Cullins of Grand Rapids Michigan, Jack (Esther) Noodwang of
Plymouth and Ricky Napier of Knox; daughters: Marjorie (Tim) Stryjewski of Fort Wayne,
Michelle Romine of North Judson, and Jackie (Adams) Cole of North Judson; brothers, Ray
(Judy) Rudd of Frankfurt and Leonard (Catherine) Rudd of Knox; sister, Roberta (Maury)
Frushour of Logansport; stepbrother, Bob (Regina) Howard of North Judson; stepsisters,
Charlotte Mullins of Knox, Kay Trusty of Knox, and Barbara Lopez of Roswell; stepmother, Ruth
Rudd of North Judson; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 at Brahman and Son
Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main St., Knox.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bonnie Jean Batta
South Bend - Bonnie Jean Batta, 78, of South Bend, formally of Culver, died at 8 p.m. Saturday,
August 14 at her residence.
She is survived by her sons, Craig Paluszewski of Los Angeles, Stanley (Debbie) Paluszewski of
Homestead, Fla., Martin (Carolyn) Paluszewski of New Carlisle, Timothy (Cheryl) Paluszewski of
South Bend, Brian (Pam) Paluszewski of South Bend, and Kevin Paluszewski of South Bend;
stepchildren: Marty Carnegie of Nappanee, Pete Batta of Plymouth and Patty VanBlaron of
Plymouth; a brother, Walter (Emma) VanDePutte of Koontz Lake; a sister, Ellen VanDePutte of
South Bend; 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from four to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 18 at Van Gilder funeral home,
300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 19 at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Burr Oak cemetery, Culver.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or the American Cancer

Luethisia E. "Tish" Hillman
Plymouth - Luethisia E. "Tish" Hillman, 76, a resident of 2000 Westgate Ave, Plymouth passed
away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 and Miller's Merry Manor following a three-week
illness.
There she received the highest level of care and attention.
Tish was born the daughter of Harvey A. Gaines Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Watkins) gains March 18,
1934 and Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth high school.
She and her former spouse Donald K. Hillman of Plymouth, together raised four children: D.
Keith (Sandy) Hillman Jr. of Wyandotte, Mich., and Julie A. (Stan) Palmer, Donna K. (Al)
Palbykin and Robert D. (Crystal) Hillman, all of Plymouth, along with 12 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
Titian loved her family unconditionally and was a constant presence in all of their lives. She
never turn down a chance to play any type of wargame, Domino's for sure or a quick trip to the
casino. Her favorite musical artist was Conway Twitty.
She has two surviving sisters: Esther Van Blaircom and Pauline Atkins, both in Plymouth, and
many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her and deaths were her parents; two sisters, grease stains and Ethel Warner; a
brother, Harvey A. Haynes Jr.; and a half brother, Dean Sutherlin.
Tish was a member of the Church of the heartland, Plymouth, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a
former member of the women of the moose.
Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating the life of Tish Hillman Wednesday, August 18
from five to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson funeral home of 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Services will immediately follow visitation at 7 p.m. with Pastor Herb Hiatt officiating.
Burial will be in the new Oak Hill cemetery next to her parents. Memorial gifts may be made to

Ellen J. Siefer
Nappanee - Ellen J. Siefer, 93, of Nappanee, formerly of Bremen, passed away Monday, August
16, 2010 the Goshen General Hospital.
She was born September 11, 1916 in Bremen to Albert and Armata (Snyder) Kiefer. March 26,
1942 she married
Howard E. Siefer. He preceded her in death April 9, 2007.
Ellen was a homemaker and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen.
Survivors include son, John Siefer of Bloomingdale Illinois; daughter Judy (Larry) Skupien of Mt.
Horeb, Wisconsin, three grandchildren: Jon (Kaye) Siefer, Mindy (JR) Collier, and Chad
Skupien; six great-grandchildren: Shannon and Bradley Siefer, Tim, Ashley, Joshua and Ellie
Callier; and one brother, Ted Kiefer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; son, Bill Siefer; grandson, Bradley Siefer; a
sister; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 20 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (605 S.
Center St.) in Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Roger Rhode and Pastor Neil Wonnacott.
Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 19 at the Mishler funeral home, Bremen.

IN 46506) or to the organization of donor's choice.

Glenn R. Flickinger
Wakarusa - Glenn R. Flickinger, 86, Wakarusa, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at
Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Anne (Randy) Griffin of Vancouver, Wash.; sons:
Richard (Rebecca) Flickinger of Leo, Terry (Debbie) Flickinger of Wakarusa, and Jon (Julie)
Flickinger of Wakarusa; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Hunsberger
of Elkhart and Lucille Beck of Wakarusa.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 21 and one hour prior to services
Sunday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder funeral home, 501 North Elkhart, Wakarusa.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday August 22 at Union Center Church of the
Brethren, Nappanee.
Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.

Vivian June Redinger
Argos - Vivian June ratings are, 89, Argos, died August 17, 2010 at 8 a.m. at Mason Health and
Rehabilitation, Warsaw.
She was born June 3, 1921 and Urbana Illinois to Franklin P. and Belle Vance.
She married
Ernest W. Redding or June 5, 1948 in Argos. He preceded her in death August 12, 2005.
Vivian, a homemaker, is survived by: sons, Michael Ridinger and David Redding or, both of
Argos; daughters, Ellen Wolff of Warsaw and Gloria Ridinger of Bloomington Illinois; two
grandchildren, Rachel (John) Gruet and Caleb Action; and four great-grandchildren, Chase,
Devin, Trace and Bryce Gruet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jacqueline, four brothers and
four sisters.
Services will be held Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
at Earl-Grossman funeral home, Argos, with Reverend Mark Fishburn officiating.
Burial will be at Walnut Church of the brethren.

Merlyn D. Albright
Paradise Valley, Arizona- Merlyn D. Albright, 67, of Paradise Valley, formerly of artists, passed
away August 18, 2010 after struggling with ALS.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, to Donita Timmons Albright; son Brenyn Albright (Aili)
Albright; daughter Deena (Wade) Smith; four wonderful grandchildren; mother, Marjorie Albright;
sister, Angela McDonnell; three nieces; and three nephews.
He is a graduate of Perdue and Northern Illinois Universities.Merlyn and his wife moved to
Arizona in 1971 and started their own investment Corporation.
He loves spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, traveling, and collecting wine.
A celebration of his life will be held September 5 at 3 p.m. in his home in Paradise Valley.

Janyce Rae Davidson
Rochester - Janyce Rae Davidson, 64, of Rochester, died at 1:53 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 18,
2010 at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert "Herbie" Davidson; daughters Karla Kahlmorgan of
Mishawaka and Jamie Scherer-Hunsberger of Rochester, two sons, Kevin Kahlmorgan of
Rochester and Shawn Davidson of Indianapolis; a sister, Kitty (Chuck) Moore of Radcliff, Ky.,
brothers, Brad (Linda) Peterson of Benbrook, Texas and Brian Peterson of Bangler, Mich.;
brothers-n-law, Ron Plummer of Avon Park, Fla. And Russ (Karen) Davidson of Rochester; 12
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug 26 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 w. 18th St. Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the family crypt in the Walkerton cemetery, Walkerton.
Colleen May
ROCHESTER -- Colleen May, 62, of Rochester, died at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 19, 2010 from injuries
sustained in a traffic accident.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert; daughters, Allison Tyler of Danville and Kelly (Chris)
Drubert of Brownsburg; brothers, Larry Koebcke of Valparaiso and Walter (Donna) Koebcke of
Kewanna; and two grandsons.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18 St., Rochester, and an hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at The St. John’s Lutheran Church (4th
and Jefferson streets), Rochester.
Ilean J. (Jones) Schultz
Plymouth - a choir of angels saying yesterday when Ilean J. (Jones) Schultz went home to her
beloved Jesus. She died Thursday, August 19 at her home in Plymouth.
Ilean was born October 31, 1921 in Pearson, to Clyde S. and Bessie (Miller) Jones. They
relocated to Mishawaka, while she was still a child.
She graduated from Mishawaka high school and also attended Indiana University at South Bend;
Ancilla College, Donaldson and Billy Graham school of Christian writing, Minnesota.
February 12, 1949 she married
a young handsome pilot named Loren A. Schultz and recently
celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Ilean was a respected licensed realtor and real estate broker for many years. She and her
husband own Schultz Realty with locations in Plymouth and Mishawaka until their retirement in
the late 1980s. Previously, they had owned a number of restaurants in the Michiana area as well
as Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Active in the Plymouth community for many years, she was a cofounder of the Marshall County
Meals on Wheels program as well as past president of Welcome Wagon and the Parkview
Ladies Auxiliary.Ilean was a longtime member of the first Methodist Church, Plymouth where she
was active in the Ladies' Guild and Joy Breaks, which she dearly loved. She was a member of a
prayer chain team and devout in her intercessory prayer.
She and her husband traveled extensively throughout their years together. Whether it was
driving along treacherous western, U.S. Canyon roads at midnight or mistakenly deleting the
entire family into a remote Lumberjack Camp in Michigan's northern peninsula, she was always
eager to share memories of their trips.
Ilean is survived by her husband, Laura; as well as a daughter, Karen (John) Keleher of Granger,
and two sons, Dennis (Roberta) Schultz of Augusta, Georgia and Michael (Sheila) Schultz of
Maryville, Tennessee. Also left to cherish the memory of their "Nanny" are four grandchildren:
Adam (Lori) Dombkowski, Valparaiso; Alyssa (Louis) Schultz Cogswell, Augusta, Georgia and
Brian (Tina) Rains, Plymouth. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her two sisters, Wava Eslinger and Ruth Jones.
Visitation will take place from one to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at Mishler funeral home, Bremen.
A short graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Salem cemetery, Wilmot, Indiana with Reverend
Charles Krieg officiating.
Roscoe J. "Rocky" Markwith
Vero Beach, Fla. - Roscoe Markwith, 86, of Sebastian, Fla., formerly of Kokomo and LaPaz,
August 20, 2010, at "the place, " Vero Beach, Fla.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., January 8, 1924, to Rosco J. and Minnie (Boss) Markwith. He
married
Phyllis King, now deceased, May 26, 1943, and they were married
60 years.he was
proud to be a World War II veteran, stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines and had many
stories. He worked as a cutter grind, starting at Studebaker in South Bend, then onto Pratt and
Whitney in Florida, Chrysler in Kokomo, and Allison in and Indianapolis, from which he retired.
After retirement, he and his wife spent winters in Florida and Summers in Indiana.he had a
wonderful wife, great kids, loved fishing and telling stories, he said he enjoyed his life and
wanted his children to do the same.
Survivors include his children: Linda (James) Stout of Kokomo, Sally (Frederick) Sager of
Sebastian, Fla., and Susan (Richard) Davis of Sebastian, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great
grandchildren; brother, Gerald Markwith of Castleberry, Fla; and sister, Jean Amy Schall of
Zepherhills, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jay Markwith,
There will be cremation in Vero Beach, Fla, and a burial with his wife in Plymouth. No services
are planned.
