Joseph M. Jeffirs
ELKHART -- Joseph M. Jeffirs, 73, of Elkhart, passed away July 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born June 29, 1937 to Ralph and Irene (Kennedy) Jeffirs in Plymouth. Joseph married
Christine Zornow Nov. 4, 1972 in Elkhart and she survives.
Survivors also include daughter Michelle (Douglas) Johnson of South Bend; son Michael (Stacie)
Jeffirs of South Bend; sisters: Helen (Tom) Rudd of Mishawaka, Marilyn (Joe) Metzinger of
Lafayette, Rosemary Compton of Portage, Mich; brother, Patrick Jeffirs of Mishawaka; and
granddaughter Ellie Jeffirs of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Jeffirs.
Joseph was a U.S. Navy Veteran, a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church,
eucharist ministry, and he volunteered much of his time to the Eucharist ministry and visited shutins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman
Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 15 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with
Father Glen Kohrman officiating the service.
Memorials can be made to the St. Vincent's De Paul Catholic Church or Hospice and Palliative Care.
Brent Allen Troyer
PLYMOUTH -- Brent Allen Troyer, 44, of Plymouth, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at his
residence, as a result of a lawn mower accident.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Troyer of Plymouth; his father, Lewis Troyer of Ocala, Fla.; a
sister, Cheryl Lowry of Winamac; a brother, Rick Troyer of Troy, Ala.; and grandmother, May
Dixon of Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 12 p.m. Friday, July 16 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will take place at noon Friday at the funeral
home. Burial will follow at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Esther L. Overmyer
CULVER -- Esther L. Overmyer, 92, of Culver, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at
Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
She is survived by her husband Russell; a daughter, Kay (Harvey) Hyland of Culver; a sister,
Evelyn Bottorff of Plymouth; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 16 at Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Roger D. Balsley
BREMEN -- Roger D. Balsley, 74, of Bremen, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Community
Hospital of Bremen.
He is survived by daughters, Debra (Desmond) Barr and Cheryl Renee Balsley, all of Bremen;
and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the

Kathleen D. (Jones) Davit
FORT WAYNE -- Kathleen D. (Jones) Davit, 47, Ft. Wayne, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at
Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Davit; a twin daughter and son, Natalie and Nicholas
Davit; daughter, Nina Davit; brothers, Mike (Cheryl) Jones, Jeff (Kathie) Jones, and Tim
(Debbie) Jones; mother-in-law, Ilse Davit; and father-in-law, Domenic Davit.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 23 with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. and one
hour prior to services Saturday at Randall & Roberts Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers.

Roland L. Gibler
CULVER -- Roland L. Gibler, 71, of Culver, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his
residence.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; a son, Scott (Ellen) Gibler of Illinois; daughters, Robyn Van
Herik and Suzanne (Terry) Wakefield, both of Culver; a brother, James Gibler of California; a
sister, Marilyn Stephens of Oregon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

ROCHESTER -- Myron Alderfer, 87, of Rochester, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at
Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Bruce Ganggon Sr.) Bailey of Akron and Diana Van
Norstron of Vevay; a son, Randy Alderfer of Rochester; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
sisters: Ruby (Earl) Thompson, Mary Bruce and Phyllis (Richard) Grimes; and
brothers: Earl Alderfer, Merle Alderfer, Wayne Alderfer and Howard Alderfer.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19 and one hour prior to services
Tuesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

Bernice Orene Devereux
BREMEN -- Bernice Orene Devereux, 93, of Bremen, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 15,
2010 at Bremen Health Care Center following a brief illness.
She is survived by daughters Lisa (Richard) Cain of Argos and Betty Miller of Crystal Lake, Ill.;
sons Richard (Angela) Devereux of Fort Myers, Fla. And Michael (Denise) Devereux of Elkhart;
seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.

PLYMOUTH – Emma “Jean” Favorite, 85, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the
Hospice House of Elkhart.
She is survived by her son, Michael D. Favorite of Plymouth; her stepdaughter Barbara
(Dewane) Cessna of Elkhart; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, in the New Oakhill cemetery Chapel.
Burial will follow at Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

DELONG -- Margaret L. Allen, 77, died Friday, July 16, 2010 in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor Floyd Allen; daughters, Jewel (Larry) Ketcham of
LaPorte and Barbara (Richard) Brown of Peru; sons, Alan (Tina) and Patrick (Barbie), all of
Delong; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers,
Charles Laffey of Indianapolis and John Kane of Anderson; and sisters: Patricia Wentz and Mary
Byer, both of Knox, and Marlene Shaffer of Arizona.

Edna Berline (Weygand) Lutes
AUBURN -- Edna Berline (Weygand) Lutes, 101, of Auburn, formerly of Nappanee, died at 4:50
a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 a Betz Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Eugene) Zahner of Auburn; three grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Violet Lutes, Joy Weygand and Velma Weygand.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Glenda M. McFarland
BOURBON -- Glenda M. McFarland, age 65, a resident of 200 W. Florence St., Apt. 15
Bourbon, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 in Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth.
Glenda was born the daughter of Glenn Secrist and Alice Ellsworth Secrist May 20, 1945 at Warsaw.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary. She was a
resident of the Bourbon and Mentone area most of her life and was able to spend time with
family in Texas, Louisiana and Alaska until she recently moved back to the Bourbon area.
She was also a graduate of Mentone High School, class of 1963.
She is survived by her three children: Dawn and husband David Birkey of Lewisville, Texas,
Tonya White of Fort Wayne, and Patrick and wife Brenda McFarland of Bourbon, IN. She was
also blessed with five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Ellen Elliott and Serita
and husband William King all of Bourbon; and her three brothers: Jerry and wife Mary Secrist of
Mentone, Larry and wife Jean Secrist of Columbia City and Steve and wife Donita Secrist of Milford.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Secrist.
In keeping with Glenda’s wishes there will be no funeral services, however, the family would like
to welcome friends and family to share memories Thursday, July 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the
Bourbon American Legion.
The family would welcome memorial contributions in her memory to Marshall County Hospice
and Palliative Care.

Rev. Henry Charles Bradley
ROCHESTER -- Rev. Henry Charles Bradley, 88, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his
residence.
He is survived by his daughters: Mary (Don) Beliles of Inwood, Barbara (Brad) Tam of Fulton,
and Joan Bradley of Rochester; sons, Chuck (Christine) Bradley of Rochester and Rev. Erve
(Dee) Bradley of Hamlet; a sister, Zola Smith of Wheatfield; 10 grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 20 and one hour prior to services
Wednesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Sycamore cemetery, north and east of Rochester.
Kenneth C. Nettrouer
ARGOS -- Kenneth C. Nettrouer, 53, of Argos, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Memorial
Hospital, South Bend, following injuries sustained in an auto/motorcycle accident on U.S. 31,
south of 11th Road in Marshall County.
He was born May 25, 1957 in Plymouth to Charles Dale Nettrouer and Genevieve Bell (Elkins)
Nettrouer. He lived in the Marshall County area all his life and in the Argos community since
1984.
He married
Rinda L. Wagoner Feb. 3, 1979 in Plymouth. He was a plumber with Plumbers and
Pipe Fitters Union Local 172 since 1987.
Kenneth served in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1989 where he obtained the rank of
Staff Sergeant as a Corrosion Control Specialist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Plymouth and had formerly been active with Argos Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Pack #255
from 1989 to 2004. He enjoyed time with the grandkids, computers, his motorcycle, and
especially Saturday breakfast with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Rinda; sons, Christofer Nettrouer of Churubusco, Ryon (Victoria)
Nettrouer of Argos, and Erik Nettrouer of Churubusco; five grandchildren; his mother, Genevieve
Nettrouer of Donaldson; sisters, Jeanette Phillips and Shirley (Al) Klinedinst, both of Plymouth;
brothers, LeRoy (Geraldine) Nettrouer of Lakeville, Charlie (Pat) Nettrouer of Plymouth, and
Jerry (Dianne) Nettrouer of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Nettrouer.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday July 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist
Church, Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Lonnie Nicholl
officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos, with military rites.
