Joseph Jacob Richard
ROCHESTER -- Joseph Jacob Richard, 89, 3830 W. 500 North, Rochester, passed away at 3:10 p.m.
Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
He was born May 24, 1921 in Plymouth, the son of Charles and Agnes (Crist) Richard. Aug. 24,
1954 in Monterey, he married
Ellen Rineholt. She preceded him in death Nov. 8, 2008.
Mr. Richard was a farmer and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester. As a
youngster his parents always told him he was the “special one” because he shared his birthday
with their anniversary. He had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and loved to be
outside on his Gator traveling from farm to farm.
Survivors include his four daughters: Mary and husband Jim Rockenbaugh of Peru, Ind., Rita
and husband Jim Jenkins of Rochester, Ruth and husband Dwight Gunter of Rochester, and
Jane Richard of Rochester; eight sons: Frank and wife Ruby Kietzer, of Rochester, Ted and wife
Lynda Richard of Rochester, Hugh and wife Vicky Richard of Rochester, Charles Richard of
Rochester, Carl and wife Charla Richard of Rochester, Joe Richard of Rochester, Mark and wife
Kristy Richard of Holiday, Fla., and Ed and wife Amy Richard of Avon; 39 grandchildren; 24
great-grandchildren; brothers, Lewis Richard of Plymouth, Raymond Richard of South Bend, and
Robert Richard of Rochester; sisters, Lucy Schlosser of Plymouth, and Julieanne and husband
Thomas Stevenson of Bayfield, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, James Edward Richard; infant granddaughter,
Tracy LeeAnn Richard; sisters, Martha Zeiger Barker, Loyola Davis; infant sister, Mary Richard;
infant brother, George Richard; and daughter-in-law, Carla Richard.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday July 8, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church,
Monterey, with the Revs. Joseph Jacob and John Heim officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home,
Rochester, where rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Monterey.
Burial will be in the St. Anne’s Catholic cemetery, Monterey. Memorial contributions may be
made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester.
Mary Beth Carroll
ROCHESTER -- Mary Beth Carroll, 56, of Rochester, died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010
at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by two sons, Ryan Cheeseman (Casey Bailey) of Rochester, and Kyle (Sandra)
Cheeseman of Rochester; a granddaughter; a sister, Kay (Greg) Brash of Rochester; and
brothers, Paul Schroeder of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Dale (Julia) Schroeder of Columbus.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 9 at the Good Family Funeral Home., 1200
W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
JoAnn Method
NAPPANEE -- JoAnn Method, 83, of Nappanee, died at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her
residence, after a six-month illness.
She is survived by her husband Frank; son Richard (Kay) Method of Nappanee; three
grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Beverly) Ritter of Nappanee.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Baintertown cemetery, New Paris.

Floyd D. Stutzman
NAPPANEE -- Floyd D. Stutzman, 75, of Nappanee, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his
residence after an extended illness.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Marie (Miller) Stutzman; sons: Ernest (Polly) Stutzman of
Middlebury, Norman (Rose) Stutzman of Nappanee, Vernon (Loretta) Stutzman of Middlebury,
Herman (Mary) Stutzman of Plymouth, LaVerne (Rose) Stutzman of Etna Green and Dennis
(Becky) Stutzman of Bremen; daughters: Ruth (Howard) Helmuth of Nappanee, Dorothy
(Jonathan) Helmuth of Dundee, N.Y. and Wilma (Rudy) Otto of Arthur, Ill.; 67 grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; brothers: Vernon Stutzman of Warsaw, Alvin Stutzman of Iowa, Eldon
(Lydia) Stutzman of Warsaw, Edwin (Laura) Stutzman of Etna Green, Eli (Kathy) Stutzman of
Bremen, and Robert (Loretta) Stutzman of Nappanee; and sisters: Velma (Eli) Borkholder of
Bremen, Sue (Harvey) Kauffman of New Paris, Laura Stutzman of Shipshewana, Ruby Chupp of
Bremen, Rosie (Vernon) Miller of Nappanee, Martha Snyder of Goshen, and Treva (Harley)
Bontrager of Shipshewana.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 6 and all day Wednesday, July 7 at the
Norman Stutzman residence, 7033 W. 1000 N., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8 at the Norman Stutzman residence.
Burial will follow at Graber cemetery.

Antonio Tre Kerbey
KNOX -- Antonio Tre Kerby, 10, of Knox, formerly of North Judson, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
He is survived by his brothers Dominic and Donta.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home,
153 E. Washington St., Knox.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Highland cemetery, North Judson.
Dean Rhodes
TIPPECANOE -- Dean Rhodes, 99, a resident of Tippecanoe, passed away Wednesday, July 7,
2010 in his home.
He was born the son of Riley Rhodes and Mattie Martin Rhodes Jan. 8, 1911 in north (Richland
Twp.) Fulton County, Ind. He had been a resident of the Tippecanoe area since March of 1938.
Dean was a farmer and he loved children and drove a school bus for 25 years until he was 65
years old. He was also a graduate of Richland Center School in 1928.
He married
Edith May Kochel June 11, 1933. She died Feb. 20, 2000.
He is survived by three sons: David and wife Marian Rhodes of Baroda, Mich., Russel and wife
Janice Rhodes of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla. And Donald Rhodes of Tippecanoe. He was also
blessed with nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Beecher Rhodes.
A celebration of Dean’s life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12 in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral
Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN, 46504, with Pastor Stormy Scherer-Berry of the Bourbon
First United Methodist Church officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Parks cemetery north of Bourbon.
The family would welcome memorial contributions in his memory to be made to the Tippecanoe
Community Center or Tippecanoe Fireman’s Auxiliary in lieu of flowers.

PLYMOUTH -- Richard E. Brady, 20, of Plymouth, died Friday, July 9, 2010.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy (Jeff) Beere of Plymouth; a son, Issiah Michael James
Brady of Knox; a daughter, Lilly Ann Marie Brady of Knox, IN; sister, Crystal (Clint) Cyr of
Newport News, Va.; and a brother, Jeremiah Brady of Culver.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. (EST) Wednesday, July 14 at Blissville Church of the
Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail, Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., (EST) Wednesday, at the church.
Burial will take place at the Eagle Creek cemetery, Knox.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Gary Triplet, 47, of Indianapolis, died July 9, 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Triplet; daughter, Catherine "Catie" Triplet; mother, Jean
Triplet; sister, Gina (Andy) Hupprich; several aunts and uncles; and a niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at St. Christopher

John L.W. Duncan
Lakeland Florida - John L.W. Duncan, 89, died July 10, 2010 at his home in Lakeland Florida.

Robert of South Aynor, S.C. and Sharon (Gus) Tambini of Jackson N.J.; four grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will take place Saturday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at the
Bremen cemetery Chapel in Bremen.

Keith W. Hyland
KNOX -- Keith W. Hyland, 83, of Culver, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010.
He is survived by his stepsons: Donald Lessaris of Tampa, Fla., David W. (Linda) Lessaris of
Greenwood, Ind. And William Lessaris of Clearwater, Fla.; two nieces; a nephew, Harvey Alan
(Kay) Hyland of Culver; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nine great-nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, 153 E.
Washington St.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Crown Hill cemetery.
Treva F. Nelson
PLYMOUTH -- Treva F. Nelson, 88, of 805 Baker St., Plymouth, passed away Saturday, July
10, 2010, at 1 a.m., at the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth.
Treva was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Fulton, Indiana, to Ivan and Daisy (Stuber) Read. He became
the bride of Wendell Nelson May 23, 1943, in Plymouth. Treva was a hairdresser for more than
60 years. She was a member of Sunrise Chapel, in Plymouth, was in the church choir, and was
very active within her church.
Treva is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Wendell Nelson; their sons, Phil and Patti
Nelson of Orange, Calif. And Tim and Susan Nelson of Fort Collins, Colo.; her grandchildren:
Dru and Stacy Nelson, Jennifer and Matt Abshire, Kaitlin Nelson and Alec Nelson; her sisters,
Wilma Ambler of Plymouth and Ellen and Bruce Snyder of Toledo, Ohio; and her brothers:
Lester and Sue Read, James and Barbara Read and Jay Read all of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Flosenzier.

11, 2010 at her daughter's home near Macy.
She is survived by daughters, Chaume (Wayne) Smoker of Louisiana, Mo. And Charone Savage
of Macy; twin sons, Lawrence J. Crabbs of Godfrey, Ill. And Dr. Jerry Ray Crabbs of Burlington,
Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Lee Allen Eskridge
LOGANSPORT -- Lee Allen Eskridge, age 60, of 200 26th St., Logansport, passed away at
12:43 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Miller's Merry Manor.
Lee was born May 5, 1950, in Marshall County, to Charles and Iris (Burkett) Eskridge. He retired
from Bomarko, in Plymouth.
Lee also was employed by the Culver School Corporation as a custodian and bus driver. He was
a lifetime resident of the Marshall County area.
Lee is survived by his sister, Judy (Al) Jenkinson of Kewanna; his brothers, Charles (Elaine)
Eskridge of Beech Grove, and Arthur (Jean) Eskridge of McHenry, Ill.
