Earl Clayton Hall
ROCHESTER -- Earl Clayton Hall, 81, of Rochester, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Life Care Center.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughters, Vickie (Tom) Snyder of Temperance, Mich., and
Kathy Powers, Rochester; son-in-law, Jon Fultz of Rochester; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren;
and one great-grand-daughter.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3 and one hour prior to services Friday
at the Good Family Funeral Home 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
David H. Hite
CULVER -- David H. Hite, age 68, of 13813 State Road 17, Culver, IN, 46511, passed away
Monday, May 31, 2010, at 2:45 p.m., at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth, Ind.
David was born Nov. 25, 1941, in Marshall County, Ind., to David Loyal and Mary Marguerite
(Hoeszle) Hite.
David married
the former Valerie Johnston Aug. 7, 1965, in Chesterton, Ind.
David owned J.D.H. Truck and Trailer Repair Service. He enjoyed spending time with his
grandchildren. David, and his son Bobby, were involved in 4-H in: Horse and Pony, Showing of
Sheep, and Dog Obedience divisions. They also showed a horse on the Reining Horse Circuit.
David is survived by his wife, Valerie Hite; their son, Bobby and Jessica Hite of Culver; three
grandchildren: Aurora, Westin, and David; his sisters: Shirley and Edward Wilcox of Argos, Ind.,
Barbara and Kenneth Dickson of Plymouth, Sue and Jan Warner of Plymouth, Lettie and Dennis
Maxson of Plymouth, and Rosemary Johnston of Culver; and his brothers: Alvin and Connie Hite
of Plymouth, Dwight and Donna Hite of Culver, Bruce and Pat Hite of Plymouth, Ronald and
Mary Hite of Argos, and Ray and Margie Hite of Plymouth.
Memorials may be given to the choice of the donor.

Lavaun (Jasinski) Hunt
WALKERTON -- Lavaun (Jasinski) Hunt, 87, of Walkerton, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at
LaPorte Regional Hospital.
She is survived by a sister, Doris Eldridge of LaPorte; son-in-law, Keith Betz of South Bend; a
grandson; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral
Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery.

KNOX -- Earnest Pinks, 77, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in Valparaiso Care & Rehab Center.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sisters: Dolly Karch, Barbara Decker and Cindy Karuss, all of
LaPorte, and Ethel Feddeler of Knox; and brothers: Virgil of Griffith, Ga., William of LaPorte,
Charles of Francesville, and Mack of Stanton, Ky.

Saturday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.

BREMEN -- Maurice "Mick" Stevens, 89, of Bremen, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in Angola.
He is survived by his wife, Berthella; children: Michael (Suzanne) Stevens of Logansport, Patrick
Stevens of Hunstville, Ala., Janet Jyoti Weaver of Indianapolis; Dr. Thomas (Donna) Stevens of
Angola; Kerry (Gloria) Stevens of Austin, Texas; Julie (Jerry) DuVal of Marysville, Ohio; 17
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4 and one hour before services Saturday
at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 S. R. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the funeral home. Burial will
follow at the Bremen cemetery.

Gary Lee Keck
WARSAW -- Gary Lee Keck, 62, of Warsaw, died at 12:25 a.m. Thursday June 3, 2010 at
Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
He is survived by a brother, Dennis (Eileen) Keck of Wheatland, Wy.; sisters: Nancy Smith of
Plymouth and Sue Wagoner of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m to noon Tuesday, June 8 at the Redpath-Fruth Funeral
Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Funeral services will take place at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Timothy A. Grubbs
BOURBON -- Timothy A. Grubbs, 53, of Bourbon died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his home of
natural causes.
He is survived by his wife Tammy; sons Justin (Emily) Grubbs of Bremen and Landon Grubbs of
Bourbon, and daughter Alyssa Grubbs of Bourbon; parents Leslie and Doris Grubbs of Bourbon;
sisters Beverly (Terry) Lewis of Rochester and Denise (Marty) Heckaman of Etna Green; and
one grandchild.
Funeral services will at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 in the Bourbon Bible Church at 2002 12th
Road, Bourbon.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St.,
Bourbon, and for one hour before services in the church Wednesday.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Bourbon.

Marty Goe Hogman
PLYMOUTH -- Marty Goe Hogman, 48, died of natural causes unexpectedly Saturday morning
in the emergency room of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center/Plymouth.
He was born in South Bend, the son of Robert R. and Betty M. (Eby) Hogman. Marty has lived
most of his lifetime in Plymouth and graduated from PHS with the class of 1980 and attended
Ancilla College. As a high school freshman he was a member of the state championship football
team and played all four years. Marty also lettered in baseball as a catcher and has carried his
love of sports into his adult life, teaching baseball skills to Plymouth youth as a travel team coach
many years. He loved the Cubs, the Bears and remained an avid supporter of Plymouth athletics
as member of the Booster Club.
Marty worked for 12 years in auto sales, many at Country Motors and then at Lincolnway Auto
Sales with close friend Rob Moore. He then completed training in the field of insurance and
currently served as a representative of Humana, Blue Cross & Blue Shield.
Marty had attended the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge.
He and his former spouse Terri Shafer are the parents of one son Braxton Robert Hogman, a
senior at Ball State University, Muncie.
Also surviving is Marty’s one sister, Vaughnette L. (Jim) Wheeler of Washington state and one
brother, Leslie R. (Claudia) Hogman of Westville.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth where services will be held at 7 p.m. The Rev.
David Terhune will officiate. A graveside burial service will be held Wednesday morning at 10
a.m. in the New Oakhill cemetery in Plymouth.

Joan Eileen Xaver
PLYMOUTH -- Joan Eileen Xaver Johnston, 83, of 805 Baker St., Lot 96, died in Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, of natural causes, at 4:32 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010.
Born in Plymouth June 17, 1926, she was the daughter of John and Hattie Morrow Xaver.
Joan graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1944 and was an avid class
reunion participant.
Aug. 18, 1951, Joan married
DeVor L. Johnston, from Kewanna. They divorced in 1976.
For most of her life, she was a homemaker. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to PHS
and Notre Dame sporting events on the radio and television, as well as cheering on the
Indianapolis Colts.
She will be remembered for her enthusiasm about her hometown and the people in it. To her,
there was no place like Plymouth.
Joan happily shared her fond memories of her happy childhood. She would tell her children how
she spent time at the local skating rink in her teenage years and how she got in the movie
theater for free when her grandpa, Win Morrow, was Chief of Police.
During WWII, Joan helped the war effort working at Meck’s building walkie talkies for U.S.
troops. She is described by her children lovingly as being a feisty, independent woman.
Joan is survived by a son, Gary Reed (Bonnie) Johnston, Huntsville, Ala., and by a daughter,
Terri Jo (Kenneth) Keller, Plymouth.
Eight grandchildren also survive. They are Gary’s children: Brent Matthew (Sarah) Johnston and
Gregory James (Ashly) Johnston; and Terri Jo’s children: Kristopher Erik (Schivonne) Keller,
Justin Ryan Keller and Evan Patrick Keller. Five great-grandchildren survive: Lauren, Emma,
Allyn, Camden, and Avery.
Two sisters, Phyllis Nash, Plymouth, and Marilyn (Robert) Leeney, Aurora, Colo.; two brothers,
Michael (Lori) Xaver Seattle, Wash.; and James (Sharon) Xaver, Plymouth, survive as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Jeffrey Wayne Johnston; and a
brother, John Xaver.
Friends are invited to meet with Joan’s family and to celebrate her life Thursday, June 10 from
12 to 2 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Joan will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at the funeral home with Rev.
Mr. Terrence Coonan Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in New Oakhill cemetery.

PLYMOUTH -- Leeroy Gross, 70, of Plymouth, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He is survived by sons: Rick (Sherry) Gross of Plymouth, Robert Cook of Clay Center, Kan. and
Greg (Tracey) Gross of Argos; sisters: Barbara (Harry) Fisher of Plymouth, Janet Boyer of South
Bend, Linda Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary (Jerry) Krick of Plymouth; and brothers, Dale
(Tammy) Gross of Rochester and David Gross of South Bend.
Services will be held at a later date. Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.,
Plymouth, is handling arrangements.

BREMEN -- Carol A. Main, 65, of Bremen, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenna (Steve) Zbieranski of Bremen; sons: Curtis Main of Wyatt,
Scott (Shirley) Main of Bremen and Braden (Cindy) Main of Bremen; seven grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; a sister, Ann (Carl) Fette of Florida; and brothers: Myron (Gloria) Fraser of
Wisconsin, Doug (Diane) Fraser of Leesburg, and Dick (Vickie) Kovach of Bremen.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 at Mishler Funeral
Home, 2030 S.R. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10 at
the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.

BREMEN -- Lillie D. Graverson, 84, of Bremen, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Bremen Health
Care Center.
She is survived by her husband John; daughter, Sheila (Glenn) Reed of Bremen; son, John
(Betsy) Graverson of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers,
John (Connie) Marburger of Bradenton, Fla. and George (Suetta) Marburger of Bremen; and a
sister, Cecilia (Jim) Lauderback of Troy, Ohio.
