David J. Rinkenberg
PLYMOUTH -- David J. Rinkenberg, 86, of 1001 W. Adams St., Plymouth, IN, 46563, passed
away at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his home.
David was born May, 6 1923, in Plymouth, to Leyland and Edna (VanVactor) Rinkenberg. David
served his county, in the Army during WWII, and was in the 225th Field Artillery Battalion. David
married Christina Brown Feb. 14, 1947, at the Mount Pleasant Church.
He worked for Bendix Corporation, in South Bend, for 27 years and retired. He then went back to
work and worked for PiRod, in Plymouth, for 15 years and retired again.
He enjoyed hunting and was a lifetime member of the Plymouth Gun Club and the National Rifle
Association. David and Christina could be found on many Saturday mornings, at the Farmer’s
Market, in Plymouth. They had a booth that displayed many of David’s beautiful woodworking
pieces, from handmade baby cradles, to special wooden treasure chests.
David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christina; their sons: Gene and Brenda Rinkenberg of
Plymouth, John and Sheila Rinkenberg of Plymouth, Dave and Kimberly Rinkenberg of
Plymouth, and Ken and Peggy Rinkenberg of Goshen; his brother, Robert Rinkenberg of
Sheridan; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Helen.

Margaret Marie Arnold
ROCHESTER -- Margaret Marie Arnold, 84, of Rochester, died at 12:20 p.m. Friday, April 30,
2010 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by her husband Calvin “Cal” Arnold; a daughter, Denise (Brian) Henke of
Noblesville; a son, Mel (Colette) Arnold of Noblesville; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 3 at Good Family Home, 1200 W. 18th
St., Rochester.
A second visitation will take place in Noblesville from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 and from 9 to
10 a.m. Wednesday at the Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home.
Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Woodlawn Women’s Auxiliary.

Roberta B. Reprogle
NAPPANEE -- Roberta B. Reprogle, 100, of Nappanee, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010
at LuAnn Nursing Home.
She is survived by a son, Robert Dean (Josephine) Reprogle of Kokomo; 12 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene (Charles) Holderman of Nappanee.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 6 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Stony Point cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nappanee Church of the Brethren or Southern Care
Hospice.

Willard F. "Bill" Snyder
PLYMOUTH -- Willard F. “Bill” Snyder, 88, of Plymouth, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, April 30,
2010 at Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend.
He is survived by a son, Charles W. “Chuck” (Sue) Snyder of Plymouth; two grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Anderson of Mishawaka.
Private services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.

Freida Lucile Swihart
PLYMOUTH -- Freida Lucile Swihart, 87, died of natural causes at Miller’s Merry Manor,
Plymouth, at 2:15 p.m. Friday April 30, 2010.
The daughter of Melvin L. and Nora E. Fry Wilhelm, she was born in Remington, Ind., Oct. 11,
1922. She graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1941
March 21, 1942, in Plymouth, she became the bride of Donald Swihart and was a resident of
North Twp., Marshall County, for more than 40 years.
Don died in 2006, following a long and happy marriage of 64 years.
For 10 years she worked as a cook at LaVille High School, retiring in 1983.
Freida was a former member of the Royal Neighbors, LaPaz and the Happy Homemakers Home
Economics Club, also in LaPaz.
Freida and Don loved to travel and camp in their motor home. They lived in Avon Park, Fla. for
nearly 15 winters.
A loving mother, she is survived by her two sons and two daughters.
Her sons are Richard L. and Alice Swihart, Walkerton; and David E. and Brenda Swihart,
Plymouth.
Her daughters are Sandra L. and Jerry Anders, Plymouth; and Linda K. and Paul Tyler, LaPaz.
Freida is also survived by three step-daughters: Brenda L. and David Hummel, Bremen; Donna
S. Roberson, Bremen and Debra A. Swihart, Warsaw.
Twenty grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a great-granddaughter Haley.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Freida Swihart from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, May
4 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Freida will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 in the funeral home, with
Pastor Glenn Jerrell officiating.
Burial will be next to her beloved husband in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Freida’s name may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Gail Leroy Whitaker
THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- Gail Leroy Whitaker, 74, formerly of Walkerton, died Friday, April 30,
in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Susan (Brad) Middleton of Three Rivers; sons:
Mark (Kim) Whitaker of Spring Hill, Fla., Kevin (Brittnie) Whitaker of Walkerton, and Gary
(Dorthee) Whitaker of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; and sisters, Carol Chapman of Walkerton
and Erma Northam of Gurnee, Ill.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (Eastern Time) Sunday, May 2 and one hour prior to
services Monday at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3 at the funeral home, with Pastor Sam
Maddox officiating.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton where military graveside services will
be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Cedric Leroy Berdine
ROCHESTER -- Cedric Leroy Berdine, 77, of Roche-ster, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his
residence.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; a daughter, Aline Berdine of DeMotte; sons, John (Beverly)
Berdine of Leasburg, N.C. and Scott Allen Berdine of Leasburg, N.C.; three grandchildren; and a
brother-in-law, Fred (Barb) Neuman of Rutherfordton, N.C.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 and one hour prior to services
Wednesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W.18th St., Rochester. Funeral services will
take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fulton
cemetery, Fulton.

Zachary Joseph Ellsworth
PLYMOUTH -- Zachary Joseph Ellsworth, 20, a Plymouth resident for the past 15 years, died at
6:47 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
The son of Stanley J. and Sandra K. Wyman Ellsworth, Zach was born in Riverside, Calif. May
25, 1989.
Zach was a 2008 graduate of Plymouth High School, and was currently attending Ancilla College.
He enjoyed cooking, fishing, listening to music and was an avid American Red Cross blood donor.
Zach is survived by his parents; two sisters, Brittany A. Ellsworth of Honolulu and Courtney L.
Ellsworth of Indianapolis.
A time of sharing with the family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday May 5 in the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
A memorial service to celebrate Zachary’s life, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, will be held
immediately following visitation at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Financial or blood donations may be made to the American Red Cross in Zach’s name.

Helen Jane (Henderson) McKinstry
EASTON, Md. -- Helen Jane (Henderson) McKinstry, 86, of Easton, Md., formerly of Culver,
died May 1, 2010.
She is survived by her husband Robert E. McKinstry; children: Michael W. McKinstry of Colorado
Springs, Colo, ; Anne M. Dunnington of Ambler/Philadelphia, Pa.; Mary M. Marriner of Marietta,
Ga.; and Robert E. McKinstry Jr. of Palm Bay, Fla.; siblings: Robert W. Henderson of Tucson,
Ariz.; Mary Alice Hassett of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; Norma Joyce MacNab of Pioneer, Calif.;
and James A Henderson of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Culver Academies Memorial
Chapel, Culver. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. McKinstry’s
memory to the Johns Hopkins University, Department of Psychology, Dementia Research, Attn:

Margaret E. Pitrowski
OBER -- Margaret E. Pitrowski, 94, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Jim) Parker of Knox; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
a sister, Loretta Earnest of Knox; and brother, William (Gloria) Dickson of Knox.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (CT) Tuesday, May 4 and one hour prior to services
Wednesday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 at the funeral chapel. Burial will
be at the Lerch cemetery.

Tim Ray
PLYMOUTH -- Tim Ray, 42, of Plymouth, died May 1, 2010 at his residence, of natural causes.
He is survived by sisters: Debbie (Randy) Spoor of Plymouth, Donna (Jamie) Stiles of Koontz
Lake, and Cheri (Phil) Bottorff of Knox; and brothers, Steve Ray of South Carolina and J. Ray of
Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the
funeral home. Burial will follow at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Darrell R. Regnier
PLYMOUTH -- Darrell R. Regnier, 65, 1809 Westgate Avenue, Plymouth, IN, 46563, passed
away at 11:44 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Darrell was born Feb. 27, 1945, in Beach Grove, Ind., to Evert V. and Tura Shafer Regnier. He
was a graduate of Plymouth High School in the Class of 1963.
Darrell married the former Mary K. Rothermel Sept. 12, 1992. He worked at M.P.I., in Knox, as a
tool and die maker.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth and the Plymouth Masonic
Kilwinning Lodge #149.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Mary Regnier; his daughters, Darellee and James Naccarato of
Jacksonville, Fla. and Jennifer Regnier of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his grandchildren: Conor,
Quinn, and Kelsi Naccarato of Jacksonville, Fla.
