William H. Banks
PLYMOUTH -- William H. Banks, 68, of Plymouth, died Monday, April 19, 2010 at his residence.
He is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Mike) Andrews of Bremen; sons, Billy (Gail) Banks of
Elkhart and Bobby Banks of Somerset, Ky.; sisters, Carolyn Cox and Ruby Smith, both of
Jackson, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 S.R.
331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Marshall County.
Richard M. Hansen
Glen Ellyn, Ill. -- Richard M. Hansen, 55, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., formerly of Palos Heights, Ill. passed
away Monday, April 19, 2010.
Rich was born to Harry and Anne (Pilot) Hansen in Blue Island, Ill. May 12, 1954. He graduated
from Purdue University with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.
He was the founder and president of Richard M. Hansen & Assoc., for 15 years, which is an
electrical and forensic engineering company in Lombard, Ill. He was also an employee at ComEd
for more than 20 years.
Rich was the beloved husband of Diane L. Thomas; devoted father of Katherine D. Hansen; dear
son-in-law of Jerry and Virginia Thomas; and fond brother-in-law of Susan Pisciotti, Gwen (Bill)
Adams, and Krista (Kevin) Kasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Anne (Pilot) Hansen.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. (CST) Thursday, April 22 at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home,
Wheaton, Ill.
A second visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (EDT) Saturday, April 24 at Wesley
United Methodist Church, 511 School St., Culver, IN, 46511.
Rev. Larry Saunders will officiate services at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Culver Masonic cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental
Fund, P.O. Box 187, Culver, IN, 46511.
The Odom Funeral Home, Culver, was entrusted with local arrangements.
Susie Sellers
PLYMOUTH – Susie Sellers, 79, of 1211 N. Center St., Plymouth, a resident there for the past
56 years, died, following an illness, at 5:50 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at her residence,
surrounded by the love and care of her devoted family.
Born June 20, 1930, in McLaughlin County, Ky., she was the daughter of Homer and Offa
(McCarty) Patrick. There she was raised and attended school.
Nov. 19, 1949, in Knox, Susie and Robert A. Sellers were married
.
She worked for four years at Plymouth’s Parkview Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor, but
was primarily a content homemaker for her husband and children. She loved Gospel music and
a good cup of coffee.
Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and she enjoyed traveling and collecting dolls and
souvenirs. She collected pink Depression glass and was also a quilter.
Susie was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse for more than 40 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert, and their three daughters and a son. They are
Della (Dan) Creighbaum, John (Dawn) Sellers, Nancy M. (Kevin) Sellers and Cathy A. (Roger
Jr.) Mullins, all of Plymouth.
Twelve grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive, as well as six brothers and a
sister. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
Susie was preceded in death by a brother; three sisters; and a grandson, Isaiah.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, in the funeral home. The
Rev. Herb Hiatt, pastor of Plymouth’s River of Life Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

WAKARUSA -- John Downie, 89, of Wakarusa, formerly of South Bend, died at 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at his residence.
She is survived by his son, Chris (Tamara) Downie of Wakarusa; five grandchildren; and two
great-grandsons.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26 at Sunnyside Presbyterian
Church, South Bend.

ROCHESTER -- Cruz "Cuca" F. Pena, 67, of Rochester, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
He is survived by daughters: Rosie (Michael Trutanich) Bennett of Torrance, Calif., Vilma (Bob)
Wall of Rockledge, Fla., and Amada (Timothy) Liddell of Rochester; sons, Cruz Pena Jr. of
Rochester and Joselito (Denise Barry) Pena of Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;
a sister, Alma Medina of Rochester; brothers, Juan Ochoa of Killeen, Texas and
Hector Ochoa of Pierceton; sisters-in-law, Yolanda Merlo of Texas and Sharon Cantu; and
brother-in-law, Ernest (Diane) Cantu of Georgia.
Visitation will take place from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 26 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.

John L. Thompson
BERNE, Ind. -- John L. Thompson, 91, of Berne, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010
at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He is survived by daughters, Marsha (Carl) Lotter of Monroe, and Paula (Don) Fisher of Carmel;
a sister, Eileen Sickmiller of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23 and one hour prior to services Saturday
at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at the funeral home
Burial with military graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Oakhill cemetery,

BREMEN -- Julie Weldy, 46, of Bremen, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband Tracy; daughters, Crystal (Clint) Dennie of Bourbon and
Stephanie Weldy of Bremen; a grandson; her mother, Rose Plake of Warsaw, her father, Earl
(Ruth) Plake of Wakarusa; a brother, Keith (Susie) Plake of Pierceton; and sisters, Marsha
Russell of Greenville, Ky. and Becky Tyson of Warsaw.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Bremen United Methodist
Church.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.

STURGIS, Mich. -- Grace L. Hull, 86, of Sturgis, Mich., formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday, April
22, 2010 at Sturgis Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight; a daughter, Kathleen (Stephen) Becze of Howe; five
grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Hillmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and brothers, Ralph Doermann of
Columbus, Ohio and Alfred Doermann of Taneytown, Md.
Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, April 26 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church,
797 N. Detroit St., LaGrange.
Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will take place at a later
date in Donaldson.

Dorothy M. Van Noy
FARIBAULT, Minn. -- Dorothy M. Van Noy, 84, of Faribault, Minn. died Thursday, April 22, 2010
in Faribault.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Roxi (Rick) Ruud of Plymouth and Robin
Shannon of Fairfield, Conn.; two grandsons; one great grandson; and a step grandson.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault,
and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church, Faribault.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at Fourth Avenue United Methodist
Church, Faribault.
Burial will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
Stanley Evan Curtis
URBANA, Ill. -- Stanley Evan Curtis, 68, of Urbana, Ill., died at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, April 25,
2010 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Dr. Curtis was born April 3, 1942 in Plymouth. He was the son of Forrest and Mildred Henning
Curtis.
His mother, Mildred Curtis of Pensacola, Fla. survives. He married
Carol Sell June 17, 1967 in
Big Rapids, Mich. She also survives.
Dr. Curtis was Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois and was a former department head
from Penn State. He and his former wife Carol started the Mahomet Citizen in 1975. He enjoyed
working, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife Carol, of Champaign, Ill.; one son, Lain S. Curtis of Urbana, Ill.; two
daughters, Margaret (John) Curtis-Brown of Savoy, Ill. and Frances Siegel of Urbana, Ill.; four
grandchildren: Cara and Colin Siegel of Urbana, Ill. and Evan and Elena Brown of Savoy, Ill.;
three brothers: Thomas Curtis of Massachusetts, David (Darla) Curtis of South Carolina, and
Lindon Curtis of Georgia; and one sister, Colleen (Petar) Grozdanovski of Pensacola, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. (EDT) Friday, April 30, 2010 at Poplar Grove cemetery,
Culver.

PLYMOUTH -- Sandra I. Davenport, 64, of 8338 King Road, Plymouth, IN, 46563, passed away
at 4:31 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010, at her home.
Sandra was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Plymouth to Charles and Evelyn (Howard) Barcus. Sandra
married
Don Davenport Sept. 3, 1975, in Plymouth. Sandra was a wife and a “stay-at-home
mom.”
Sandra is survived by her husband of 33 years, Don Davenport; their sons, Keith and Tiffany
Davenport of Plymouth and Bill and Lisa Lovely of Plymouth; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren;
her sisters: Jean and Robert Rees, Ruth and Jack Shorter, Laura and Harold
Stiles, Sharon and Dale Kamp, and Linda and Phil Keller; her brothers: Ed and Lendaee Barcus,
James and Maryann Barcus, and Bobby and Darleen Barcus; and her mother, Evelyn Barcus.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy and Betty; and her brother, Paul.
