Carl B. Trump
PLYMOUTH — Carl B. Trump, 85, of 9782 Redwood Road, Plymouth, Ind., passed away
Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at 6:50 a.m., at his home.
Carl was born April 19, 1924, in South Bend, to Oscar and Glendora (Thomas) Trump. The
Trump Family, moved to Plymouth, when Carl was eight years old.
Carl Trump and Doris Jean Brewer were united in marriage at the Trinity E.U.B. Church Sept.
30, 1945. They shared 64 years together as husband and wife. Carl worked for the Plymouth
Foundry for 42 years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer.
He played softball until he turned 50 years old. He liked playing ping-pong, pitching horse shoes,
and had a love for draft horses. Carl was a member of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist
Church.
Carl is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Trump; their daughter, Judy (Bill) Fluke of Crestwood,
Ky.; their sons: Ed (Linda) Trump, Tim (Toni) Trump, and Tom (Brandie) Trump, all of Plymouth;
his brother Robert (Mary Ruth) Trump of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Trump; and his grandson, Brad Allen Trump.

WINAMAC — Neal Hiatt, 93, of Winamac, died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Pulaski
Health Center, Winamac.
He is survived by a son, Herb (Sandy) Hiatt of Plymouth; a daughter, Brenda (Nick) Shank of
Casa Grande, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (EST) Monday, Feb. 8 at Frain Mortuary, 305 E. Main
St., Winamac, and one hour before services Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Winamac.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the church.
Burial will take place in the Star City West cemetery, Star City.

Margaret Hatfield Singleton-Harder
KNOX — Margaret Hatfield Singleton-Harder, 76, of Wheatfield, formerly of Plymouth, died
Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.
She is survived by daughters, Vicki (Gregory) Clapp of Orange Park, Fla. and Jennifer (Chris)
Harder Hamilton of Fla.; sons: Michael (Linda) Singleton of Wheatfield, Pat Singleton of
Valparaiso and Shawn (Rachel) Singleton of Crown Point; a sister, Madeline (Ralph) Allen of
Knox; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation took place from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, 153 E.
Washington St., Knox.
Funeral services took place at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at the funeral home.
Burial followed at Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice.
Glenice Balsley
PLYMOUTH — Glenice Balsley, age 80, of Plymouth, and formerly of Bourbon, passed away
Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth.
She was born the daughter of Brightsel Carothers and Wilma Hepler Carothers Sept. 20, 1929 at
Bremen.
Glenice was a graduate of Bremen High School. She had been a restaurant owner in Etna
Green, worked at the Tippecanoe Foundry and most recently retired as a Bus Driver for the
Triton School Corporation. In her spare time she was very active in the Marshall County 4-H
program as a 4-H leader and even participated in Dairy Livestock and Canned Food Products
along with her talent in playing the guitar and working with the Cub Scouts.
Glenice was married
Aug. 15, 1974 to Leonard Balsley who survives along with her four sons:
Terry and wife Barbara Heckaman of Lansing, Mich., Rex and wife Lee Ann Heckaman of
Nappanee, Kim and wife Jane Heckaman of Plymouth, Marty and wife Denise Heckaman of
Etna Green and her step-son Tony and wife Kim Balsley of Tippecanoe.
She was further blessed with 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eudora
Marburger of San Antonio, Texas; and a brother, Garland and wife Muriel Carothers of Bremen.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Brittney Lamb.
In honoring her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services.
The family would welcome memorial contributions to Potawatomi Wildlife Park in her

Paula Marie Davenport
TAMPA, Fla. — Paula Marie Davenport, age 73, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 in Tampa, Fla.
She was born in South Bend, Oct. 29, 1936 to Don E. and Doris Elizabeth (McKowen) Smith.
She was a homemaker, a resident of Avon Park since 1985 coming from Indiana, a member of
Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church; she was a member of the Women’s Guild at Our Lady of
Grace, and she enjoyed church activities and was a loving wife, mother and a devoted friend.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Davenport, Jr. of Avon Park, Florida; a son,
Rick (Mickey) Davenport of Plymouth; daughters, Jodi (Michael) Sportsman of Overland Park,
Kansas and Kim Horvath of Concord, N.C.; sisters, Sheila (Richard) Laman of Avon Park, Fla.
and Kay (Jack) Swank of Michigan; a brother, Don (Joyce) Smith of Ocala, Fla.; three
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at in Our Lady
of Grace Catholic Church.

Scholarship.

Virginia A. Kinnane
CULVER – Virginia A. Kinnane, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at 5:35 a.m. in Miller’s Merry
Manor, Culver.
She is survived by daughters Nancy (Charles) Cannon of Leiters Ford and Judith Dow; a son-inlaw
Bill Cox; a brother, Bob (Mary) Judnick of Dyer; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Judnick; two
grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Following Virginia’s wishes no services will be held.
Memorial contributions in Virginia’s name may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Gabriel C. Morrell
PERU, Ind. — Gabriel C. Morrell, 93, of Peru, Ind., passed away at 4:05 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 6,
2010 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
He was born in Argos April 16, 1916, the son of Herbert and Essie Leffert Morrill. On June 29,
1940 he married
Rosellen Jones in Cass County, Ind. and she preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2007.
Gabe graduated from Argos High School in 1934 and was a retired Standard Oil employee. He
and his wife Rosie moved from Argos to Peru in 1988 and attended the Oakdale Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Roger Morrell and his wife Kimberly of Montpelier, Ohio; three
grandchildren: Jeff Morrell and his wife Lane, Julie Smith and her husband Kevin and Jon Morrell
and his wife Gina; six great-grandchildren: Jasmine Morrell, Brittin Morrell, Jordan Morrell,
Logan Morrell, Kyle Smith and Sarah Smith; two step-grandchildren, Heather Gauden and Heidie
Goebel; four step-great-grandchildren: Mason Gauden, Sage Gauden, Levin Gauden and John
Boyer; and three brothers: Harold Morrill of Greenville, Tenn., Arthur Morrill of Argos and Carl
Morrill of Logansport.
Family and friends will gather after 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at the Eikenberry-Eddy
Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru, Ind.
A service celebrating the life of Gabriel Morrell will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at funeral home
with Pastor Robert Stuck and Pastor Julie Walker officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

CULVER — David A. Zengri, 43, of Knox, died at 1:31 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Victoria; father, Philip Zengri of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Robin Zengri
of LaPaz and Lela Zengri of Ripley; step-daughters, Stephanie Minix and Michelle Minix, both of
Knox; brothers, Donald Zengri and Kevin Zengri, both of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Mary Zengri and
Dena Zengri, both of Chicago, Ill.; and a grandson.

and four great-great-grandchildren.

Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She is survived by daughters, Mary (Ray) Kohn of South Bend and Janice Clark of Elkhart; a
son, James (Cindy) Hummel of Conroe, Texas; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and
four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons: Stephen (Nancy) Ringenberg of Richmond, Paul
(Carolea) Ringenberg of Tampa, Fla., Tim Ringenberg of Fort Wayne, Dr. Tom (Hayley)
Ringenberg of Richmond, and Mark (Brenda) Ringenberg of Plymouth; a daughter, Janis (Gary)
Monroe of New York; son-in-law, John Clark of Melbourne, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Herbert) Weisshart of Las Vegas, Nev.

PLYMOUTH — Alma Rhodes, 88, of Plymouth, died at 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by her daughters: Carole (Jim) Ousnamer of Plymouth, Pat (Michael) McQuaid
of Pensacola, Fla., Angela Sanderson of Luton, England, Debbie (and the late Craig)
Krackenburger of Pensacola, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren;
and five step-great-grandchildren.
