WARSAW — Fred E. Maust, 78, of Warsaw, formerly of Nappanee, died at 2:05 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Warsaw Meadows.
He is survived by a son, Shane (Shanna) Maust of Milford; sisters: Patricia (Phil) Hochstetler of
Nappanee, Gertrude Gerkey of Decatur, Mich., Audrey (William) Warren of Elkhart and Beverly
Morris of Elkhart; and brothers, William F. Maust of Nappanee and Tim (Darlene) Maust of
Dunlap.
Cremation will take place.
Private family services will be held at Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
Burial will be in the South Union cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Nappanee Public Library.

Margaret A. Steininger
PLYMOUTH — Margaret A. Steininger, 90, of Culver, died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6,
2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
She is survived sons, Hugh D. (Elaine) Steininger of South Bend and Robert (Susan) Steininger
of Culver; a daughter, Rhea (Thomas) Schmidt of Culver; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren;
and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 at Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Marshall County Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care.
Dewayne M. Weatherholt
MONTPELIER — Dewayne M. Weatherholt, 88, of Montpelier, died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday,
Jan. 6, 2010 at Bridgewater Centre in Hartford City.
He is survived by his wife, Lorada J. (Banter) Weatherholt; daughters: Beverly (Don) Price of
Plymouth, Linda (Dean) Coleman of Eaton, Cheryl (Mike) Barnes of Montpelier; a son, Gary
Weatherholt of Indianapolis; a step-son, Dr. L.T. (Toni) Payne of Dayton, Ohio; step-daughters:
Judy (Lonnie) Adams of Lake Alfred, Fla., Dr. Robyn Payne of Gary, and Margie Sones of Terre
Haute; sisters: Carol (Dee) Schwarzkopf of Hartford City, Mary Blair of Dallas, Texas, Joyce
(Jim) Pace of Dallas, Texas, and Kay Huffman of Poneto; a brother, Galen (Marilyn) Weatherholt
of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine
step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday,
Jan. 11 at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier.
The Montpelier Masonic Lodge #600 F&AM will conduct a Masonic Service Sunday at 7 p.m. at
the funeral home.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Esther M. Young
BREMEN — Esther M. Young, 86, of Bremen, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at the Bremen
Health Care Center.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Lewis) Leeper of Bremen and Jeannette (Les) Grebe of
Knoxville, Texas; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild;
brothers: Delbert (Tomi) Balmer of Lakeville, William Balmer of Rochester and Eldon (Florence)
Balmer of Texas; and a sister, Shirley (Lee) Lakins of Bremen.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at the church.
Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen.

Rhoda Elizabeth (Vires) Craft - Hensley
ARGOS — Rhoda Elizabeth (Vires) Craft - Hensley, 75, of Argos, died at 9:33 a.m. Thursday,
Jan. 7, 2009 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 24, 1934 in Hazard, Ky. to Pierce and Nannie (Wright) Vires and lived most
of her life in the Argos community.
Rhoda married
James Craft in October of 1950 (still living) and later married
Willard Hensley, in
1971 in Jackson, Ky. He preceded her in death in February of 1986.
She was a self-employed housekeeper and attended the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos. She
was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Rochester, and Rhoda was proud that she was a
coal miner’s daughter.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Craft of Argos; a son, Daniel (Jeanie) Craft of Preston,
Wash; seven grandchildren: Clifton Lefever of Wichita, Kan., Shanna (Roger) Webb of Akron,
Bart Craft, Daniel Craft Jr. and Tim Craft all of Muncie, Sean (Morena) Kresge of Lakewood,
Wash., Tim (Jessica) Kresge of Preston, Wash.; sisters: Betty Houin of Argos, Deloris Doody of
Culver and Annetta (Richard) Ritter of Rochester; brothers: Ewen (Shirley) Vires of Argos,
Haroldean Vires of Argos, Pierce (Carol) Vires Jr. of Argos, Charles (Stella) Vires of Argos,
Bernard (Marsha) Vires of Bloomington, and Larry (Rhonda) Vires and wife Rhonda of Argos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers James Arthur Vires and James R. Vires.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at the Church of Jesus
Christ, 15676 Michigan Rd., Argos.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11 at the church with Rev. Lloyd
Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

St., Argos, IN, 46501.

Frances "Evelyn" Grow
INDIANAPOLIS — Frances “Evelyn” Grow, 65, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Methodist
Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
She is survived by two sons, Greg Urednick of Bremen and Gary (Sheila) Urednick of Elkhart;
eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints, 3415 Pleasant Plain Avenue, Elkhart.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Steven E. Landry
JIMTOWN — Steven E. Landry, 45, of Jimtown, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Elkhart General
Hospital.
He is survived by daughters Mellissa (Jesse) Keb of Nappanee, Amber (Kenny) Samuels of
Plymouth, Erica (Rick) Cartwright of Plymouth and Stephanie Landry of Kimmel; sons: Brandon
Landry of Florida, Steven Landry II of Jimtown, Dustin Petre of Middlebury and Devin Petre of
Kimmel; companion Donna Ducolo of Jimtown, ; five grandchildren; sisters: Lorrie (Todd) Golden
of Cromwell, June (Jeffery) MacDonald of Culver and Susan Lamb of Omaha, Neb.; brothers,
Todd (Laurie) Landry of Silver Lake and Wayne (Sandy) Landry Jr. of Knox; and many nieces
and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place.

Dianna L. Barrera
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Dianna L. Barrera, 52, a resident of Meadow View Manor, died there
Friday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2010.
Dianna was born in Plymouth, Ind. Sept. 12, 1957 to Ralph E. and Sonia (Koshaba) Bender.
She had a great love for poetry as well as reading anything and everything she could get her
hands on. Swimming was also a great passion of Dianna’s.
Dianna worked as a nurse for 15 years throughout Texas, Illinois, and Indiana. Her love of
nursing eventually brought her into home health care. Her greatest joy as a nurse came from
caring for infants.
Dianna is survived by three children: Armondo Jr., Serina, and Robert Barrera, all of Texas; two
grandchildren, Dylan and Destiny Barrera of Texas; her father and step-mother, Ralph (Mary)
Bender of Oostburg; two brothers, Ralph Jr. of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Joseph L. of Streamwood,
Ill., and was also loved by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, William Bender.
A celebration of Dianna’s life will be held at the home of Ralph and Mary Bender from 5 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Memorials would be appreciated in her name to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

PLYMOUTH — Virginia Wilson, 75, of Plymouth, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Robert) Gregory, Cecil (Pam) Wilson and Timothy
(Paula) Wilson, all of Plymouth, and James (Rhonda) Wilson of South Bend; eight grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mattie (Oran) Chastine of Indianapolis and Annie Sue
(Leonard) Kelly of Lakeville.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at New Oakhill cemetery.
