Charles Edward Morgan
ROCHESTER -- Charles Edward Morgan, 98, of 5578 N. 100 W, Rochester, died at 10:45 p.m.,
Monday, July 18, 2011 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He is survived by three daughters, Sonja (Phillip) Mow of Middletown, Del., Pat (Gary) Huppert of
Rochester, and Lori (Bobby) Schoen of Rochester; daughter-in-law, Joyce Morgan of Nashville,
Tenn; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Richland Center cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St.,
Rochester.
Memorials may be made to the Richland Center United Methodist Church.
Albert L. Odiorne
PLYMOUTH -- Albert 'Al' L. Odiorne, 87, of Plymouth died July 19, 2011 at 8:20 a.m. in his
residence.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche; sons, Tom (Alom) Odiorne of Atlanta, Steve (Cindy) Odiorne
of Plymouth; daughter, Marcia (Tim) Barts of Bremen; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren;
and two sisters, Isabel Kitson and Gertie (Dutch) Schaal.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.
Leola June Martin
ARGOS -- Leola June Martin, 89, of 310 E. Plum St., Argos died July 20, 2011 at 8 p.m. in her
residence following an illness.
She is survived by her son, Mark Birney of Argos.
There will be no calling or services per June’s wishes.

Russell (Pete) M. Porcher
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Russell (Pete) M. Porcher, 95, of Sevierville, Tenn. passed away
Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Mr. Porcher was a sheet metal worker and union member for more
than 50 years and his hobbies included fishing and intricate woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Warner Porcher; parents, Harry and Laura
Porcher; grandson, Scott W. Plummer; and brothers, Howard and Clarence Porcher.
He is survived by a daughter, Kay Williams; niece, Eleanor Heckaman; and nephew, Charles
Porcher.

Ralph L Umbaugh
NAPPANEE -- Ralph L. Umbaugh, 78, of 25747 CR 52, Nappanee, died Wednesday, July 20,
2011 in an automobile accident on CR 52, east of Nappanee.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (David) Riggle of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Bruce A. Umbaugh
of Phoenix, Ariz., and Paul A. Umbaugh of Nappanee; three grandchildren; and sisters, Helen
(Loren) Stackhouse of Huffman Lake, and Linda (Everett) Maurer of Nappanee.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home,
Nappanee, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Union Center
cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the Nappanee American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be given to the NorthWood High School Athletic Department.
Jack Allen Hurley
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- Jack Allen Hurley, 65, of Mountain Home, Ark. passed away
Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Jack Allen Hurley was born Sept.
21, 1945 in Gary to Earnest and Isabelle Hurley. He enjoyed fishing and music, especially Willie
Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Jodi) Hurley of the home; three sons, Jack (Darlene) Hurley
of Texas, Robert Hurley and family of Arkansas, and Daniel (Jen) of Maryland; seven daughters,
Deanna (Jeff Kraft) of Indiana, Joi (Mark) Walters of Indiana, Michelle (Michael) Michaels of
Indiana, Sandy (Mark) Reihl of Indiana, and Jill Colpitts (Dale) of Oregon, Jana (Gary) Parnell of
Arkansas, and Tammy Haines of Indiana; sister, Judi (Billy) Faulkner; grandchildren, Bobby,
Jake, Ray, Angel, Jordan, Jasmine, Cooper, Nick, Lacy, Justice, Cassie, Adam, Christopher,
Travis, Angel, LeAnna, Jennifer, Arianna, Alyssa, Marky, and nine great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents and one son; Doug Lippert.
All services will be private. Arrangements are by Twin Lakes Cremation Society & Funeral Home.
James Walter Keen
KNOX -- James Walter Keen, 59, of Knox died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Starke Memorial
Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Keen of Knox; son, Steve (Debra) Keen of LaPaz; two
grandchildren; brothers, Mark (Pat) Keen of Plymouth, Scott (Melody) Keen of Columbus; and
sisters, Elizabeth Sallee of Knox and Jeanne Keen of Knox.
Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox.
Funeral service was Monday, July 25 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Methodist Church.
Burial is at Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
Helen L. Johnson
BREMEN -- Helen L. Johnson, 98, formerly of Riley Road, North Liberty and Sherman Street,
Bremen, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Bremen Health Care Nursing
Home, Bremen. She was born Sept. 17, 1912 in Marshall County to the late Wilbur Maxson and
Beth 'Bessie' (Armentrout) Phillips and lived in this area all of her life. March 19, 1932 in
Plymouth, she married
Chester Johnson, who preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1974.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by three daughters, Patsy M. Schlemmer of Bremen, Wanda L. (Galen)
Mangus of North Liberty and Nancy L. (Norman Matuszak) McCartney of South Bend. Also
surviving are 16 grandchildren, Mike (Barb) Gouker, Cindy (David) Leavell, Pam Gouker and
Betsy Paul, Brenda (Rob) Schloneger, Sandra Mangus, Lorna Mangus, Rollo (Patsy) Mangus,
Leo (Darlene) Mangus, Marlo (Lucinda) Mangus, Darro (Beth) Mangus, Dr. Lora (Todd) Wenger,
Beverly Peebles, Neil (Jolie) McCartney, Brien McCartney, and Beth (Scott) Styers, 45 great grandchildren,
25 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren, and a
brother, Arnold (Shirley) Phillips of Bremen. Two sisters, Ruth Roush and Opal Gardner and a
granddaughter, Peggy Schlemmer Paul preceded Helen in death.
Mrs. Johnson was the eldest member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed
driving the tractor when helping on the farm, gardening, crocheting and volunteering in her
church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren,
69531 Pine Road, North Liberty, IN 46554. Burial will follow in Fair cemetery, North Liberty. The
family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville and
one hour prior to services at the church.
Contributions in memory of Helen L. Johnson may be offered to Harbor Light Hospice, 4330
Miami St., South Bend, IN 46614 or to Pine Creek Church.

Dusty D. Kasten
KNOX -- Dusty D. Kasten, 40, died July 22, 2011 in IU Health Starke Hospital due to an ATV
accident.
Surviving are his wife, Tawnya; three daughters, Tiffany Kasten, Brittany Kasten and Dusty Rose
Kasten, all of Knox; one son, Tyler Kasten of Knox; six sisters, Linda Ritchie of Big Sandy,
Tenn., Kathy Upchurch, Tina Singleton, Sandy Singleton and Tommie Byer, all of Knox and
Rosanna Kasten of Frankfort; and four brothers, Robert Kurtz Jr. of Tennessee, Virgil Kurtz and
John Kasten, both of Knox and Theodore Kasten of Frankfort.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. CDT at the Washington Township Community
Center. Cremation will follow. Visitation is Tuesday at the Washington Township Community
Center from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. until the time of services. A firefighter service will
be held Wednesday at 8 p.m by the Washington Township Fire Department. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be given to the family. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is
handling arrangements.
James W. Walker
PLYMOUTH -- Lifetime Plymouth resident James W. Walker, 56, of 711 Magnetic Parkway,
passed away unexpectedly at 2:40 a.m. Friday in the emergency room of St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center, Plymouth campus. His death has been attributed to heat stroke.
Jim was a caring person who volunteered his time and construction talent helping build Habitat
for Humanity houses in Plymouth and surrounding areas. He could often be found serving as a
clerk in the Habitat Re-Store in Plymouth.
He was born James Wesley Walker June 17, 1955 in Plymouth to James Paul and Barbara
Jean (Falconbury) Walker. Raised in Plymouth, he attended St. Michael Church and School and
graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1974. He then entered the U.S. Coast
Guard.
Jim worked part-time in construction and found contentment as an avid reader of books by his
favorite authors of Steinbeck, Hemingway and Kerouac. He also spent countless hours watching
classic movies.
Surviving family members include his sisters, Jo Ann Walker Morrow of Plymouth and Jeanne S.
Walker (Alan Ehrich) of Chicago and a brother, John H. Walker of Plymouth. Two nephews also
survive, they are; Schuyler H. Mitchell of Chicago, Ill. and Ian C. Pope of Los Angeles, Calif.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Lynn Walker.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
A Mass in Memoriam will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27 in St. Michael Catholic
Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. Fr. William J. Kummer will officiate. Burial will
follow in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Military honors will be accorded Jim by members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 27,
Veterans of Foreign Wars -- Marshall County 1162 and the Disabled American Veterans.

Edward Scott Wenrick
ROCHESTER -- Edward Scott Wenrick, 78, of 420 Jefferson St. Rochester, died at 10:30 p.m.
Friday, July 22, 2011 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He is survived by his wife, Marcie Suddith Wenrick, at home; son, Michael Edward Wenrick of
Rochester; two sisters, Jean (Neil) Johnston of Rochester, Mabel (Bill) Cave of South Bend;
brother, Jim Wenrick of South Bend; brother-in-law, Dr. Bob Suddith; and sister-in-law, Roberta
Suddith of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27 at St. John Lutheran Church, 404
Jefferson St., Rochester. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Good Family Funeral
Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester and one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment
will be in the Rochester IOOF cemetery with military rites conducted by the LeRoy Shelton
American Legion #36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1343.
Barbara Ann Myszkowski
PLYMOUTH -- Former Chicago area resident, Barbara Ann Myszkowski, 71, finished her race
into the arms of Jesus at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Barbara has been in the gentle care of her family and the Miller’s staff since 2009 and more
recently the Center for Hospice Care.
Barbara was born the eldest child of Peter Paul and Stella Pearl (Szajek) Myszkowski Tuesday,
July 25, 1939 in Chicago, Ill. She and her four siblings were raised in the Chicago neighborhood
of Brighton Park. There she was a member of St. Pancratius Parish where she attended grade
school. She graduated from Lourdes High School with the class of 1956. With determination,
she then attended classes at Northwestern University over a period of her working career and
attained her degree in history. Prior to moving to Indiana, Barbara lived in Orland Park, Ill. and
was active in St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
Barbara worked with the 3M Corporation in Bridgeview, Ill. as a secretary and then the Sealed
Air Corporation in Hodgkins, Ill. for 35 years as a customer service representative, serving many
years as the national customer service manager. She retired in 2006.
Barbara enjoyed the arts as well as movies and she loved to read. She would often reminisce
with her friends and family about her extensive travels, many with her dear cousin Maryann.
Barbara also liked to work jigsaw puzzles and spend time on her computer.
Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, two sisters and their families. Jerome and Nita
Myszkowski of Simi Valley, Calif. and children, Peter, Carol, Tim, Jenny and Patti; William (the
late Dianne) Myszkowski of Naperville, Ill. and children, Michael, Rachel and Leah; Theresa and
Ken Hansen of Valparaiso, and Donna and Ron Sikorski of Plymouth and children, Amy, Dan
and Katie. Many grandnieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Dianne.
Visitation in Plymouth will be held Thursday, July 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. (EDT) in the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 613 N.
Center St., Plymouth with calling in the church after 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Fr. William Kummer will
celebrate the Mass.
A service of committal will be held at 2 p.m. (CDT) Friday in the Resurrection cemetery Chapel,
7200 Archer Road, Justice, Ill. Burial will follow.
