Oscar `Oddie' Truemper of Wheaton
Services for Oscar `Oddie' Truemper, 82, a 59-year Wheaton resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, Wheaton. He will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
Mr. Truemper died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Wynscape Health Care Center in Wheaton. Interment will be in River Hills Cemetery.
Born and raised in Aurora, he graduated from East Aurora High School in 1934. He served his country as a chief petty officer in the Navy during World War II. He started the Wheaton Meat Company in 1940, from which he retired in 1979. He served on the Wheaton Board of Zoning Appeals for eight years. He was past president and director of the Wheaton Lions Club. He was a member of the Founders Club of Central DuPage Hospital. He received the Ronald Brinkman award for exemplary contribution of service and talent by the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and was an honorary life time member of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce.
He was honored in 1983, as Wheaton's `Man of the Year' by the V. I. P. Council of Illinois. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Wheaton, where he served on many boards, taught adult and high school Bible classes, and started the Garden Club.
He was a past member of the President's Advisory Council of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leona (nee Gotsch), whom he married on Sept. 8, 1940; sons, Roy C. (Pam) of Columbus, Ohio and Ross D. (Jan) of Oswego, Ill.; grandchildren, Colin, Chance, Ryan, Jill, Katie and Taylor; brother, Bill (Lil) of Aurora; and sister, Ann (Ed) Prestero of Westchester.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. (one block east of Naperville Rd.), Wheaton.

Vernon S. Valenziano of Arlington Heights
Prayers for Vernon S. Valenziano, deacon, 60, will be said at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
Born July 16, 1938, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at home. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Vernon was a transportation manager for McClain Corp. of Woodstock for more than 19 years, retiring in 1998. Mr. Valenziano was a permanent deacon with the Chicago Archdiocese serving St.
Edna Parish, ordained in 1986. He was a field advocate for the Chicago Archdiocese Marriage Tribunal and a chaplain at Northwest Community Healthcare. He served in the
Army Reserves during the Vietname War.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary Jo (nee Hebron); sons, David (Catherine J.)of Flossmoor, Steven (Beth) of Chicago and Paul (Kris) of Palatine; grandchildren, Ashley, John and Anne; mother, Anna N. (nee Cicero); and brothers, Charles (Diana), Peter (Grace) and Nicholas (Nancy).
He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas.

Elizabeth Viesel of Rolling Meadows
Services for Elizabeth Viesel (nee Schott), 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights.
Born May 4, 1908, in Germany, she died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at ManorCare in Rolling Meadows. Burial will be in Arlington Heights-Wheeling Township Cemetery.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late John Viesel; dear aunt of Maria (Joseph) Higgs of Arlington Heights; and great-aunt of Karen and Joey.

Ruth Elizabeth Watson of Naperville

Born April 16, 1906, in Walnut, Ill., she died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at home. Private interment will be in Naperville Cemetery.
A Naperville resident since 1928, Mrs. Watson graduated high school in Walnut and continued her education by taking many classes over the years at Northern Illinois University, Illinois State University, the Art Institute of Chicagoand the University of Colorado. She was the first Art teacher hired in the Naperville schools after World War I, and taught for many years at Ellsworth School. She was a member of the Naperville Woman's Club and served as president in 1953. She also served as president of the Naperville Garden Club. Mrs. Watson served on the Naperville School Board from 1950 to 1958, and then returned to teaching in 1958, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include her son, James Gordon Watson of Naperville; grandson, Jeffery (Julie) Watson of Arlington Heights; stepgranddaughter, Mary (Jalal) Samadani of Virginia Beach, Va.; and great-grandson, Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watson in 1975; and one great-grandchild.

James E. Young of Geneva
Services for James E. Young, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third St., Geneva. Rev. Paul Hammar and Vicar J. T. Miller will officiate.
Born Oct. 16, 1914, in Geneva, the son of Roy and Mary Young, he died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva.
Mr. Young was a member of Geneva Lutheran Church and the B. O. Y. S. Club.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jane; son, Michael (Marguerite) Young of Salem, Wis.; daughter, Jill (David) Neilsen of Port Richey, Fla.; sister, Patricia (Richard) Herter of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Daniel Young, and Elizabeth and Molly Neilsen; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda and Jennifer.
He was preceded indeath by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Dr. Lisa Perozynski of Carlsbad, New Mexico
Memorial services for Dr. Lisa Perozynski, 31, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at First United Methodist Church, Carlsbad.
Born June 5, 1967, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Gil and Jean Stableton Baron, she died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
Raised in Rochester, Minn., she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1985. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota in 1989, receiving her bachelor of science degree. Lisa received her masters of science in 1991, and her Ph. D. in 1996, in human development from the University of Illinois in ChampaignUrbana. While receiving her education, she taught at Heartland Community College in Bloomington, Ill. and was a graduate assistant at the University of Illinois. She moved to Carlsbad in 1995, and married Robert P. Perozynski II on Sept. 1, 1996, in Carlsbad. She taught early childhood development, psychology and education at New Mexico State University in Carlsbad and College of the Southwest. She was a volunteer for the Eddy County CASA receiving the Volunteer of the Year award in 1997.
She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Gamma Delta GraduateHonor Societies and Western Psychological Association.
Survivors include her husband, Robert P. Perozynski II of Carlsbad; parents, Gil and Jean Baron of Rochester, Minn.; brother, Mark Baron of Rochester; sister, Julie Sweeney of Onaha, Neb.; and grandmothers, Minnie Stableton of Rochester and Margaret Baron of Apple Valley, Minn.

C. J. `Carm' Alongi of St. Charles
Funeral Mass for C. J. `Carm' Alongi, 78, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, with Father Anthony Pantyra officiating.
Born Oct. 29, 1920, in Thomas, Ala., he passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva.
Carm was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva and the American Legion Post #75 of Geneva.
During World War II, he served in the European Theatre and in the Battle of the Bulge. At the time of his retirement in 1982, Carm was employed by Accutronics in Geneva.
He is survived by his sister, Josephine Martello of Geneva; brother, Paul (Marian) Alongi of Rochelle; and nine nieces and nephews.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents, Saverio (Sam) and Carmela Alongi.

John Andrup of Arlington Heights
Services for John Andrup, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, Inc., 320 W. Central Road, Mount Prospect.
Born July 3, 1925, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Manorcare in Arlington Heights, following a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
Mr. Andrup was a retired superintendent in the construction trade. A veteran of World War II, he served as a 2nd lieutenant in the
Army Air Corps. He was a 55-year member of Carpenters Union Local 181 and a life member of the Danish American Athletic Club. Mr. Andrup was also an avid golfer and sportsman.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Andrup(nee Jensen); son, John (Debra) Andrup; daughters, Joyann (Rod) Bakken and Kim (Charles) Stephensen; and grandchildren, Adam, Todd, Katie, Robert, Alexander, Erik and Ian.
Mr. Andrup was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Louis P. Berg of Elgin
Funeral services for Louis P. Berg, 80, will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, with the Rev. Steve Kottke officiating.
Born Jan. 29, 1919, in Burlington, N. D., the son of Peter and Gertie Benson Berg, he died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Sherman West Court in Elgin. Burial will take place Saturday in Greenfield Cemetery, Harmony, Minn.
When Louis was three years old, his mother died. The family of three boys and two girls moved to Harmony, Minn., where their aunt raised them. He had lived in Harmony for many years and a resident of Elgin for the past six years.
An
Army veteran of World War II, he was stationed in the South Pacific for three years. A member of the American Legion and VFW for 53 years, he was employed as a janitor at St. Edward High School for 20 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Weiss Berg; stepdaughters, Marcelene (Gary) Gough of McHenry and Kathryn (Larry) Lippincott of Chesapeake, Va.; brother, Richard (Margaret) Berg of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Elizabeth Rostvold of Harmony, Harmony; sister-in-law, Violet Rostvold of LaCresent, Minn.; stepdaughter, Cynthia Sadler of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, J. M. and Emma Rostvold; brothers, Elsworth and Eddie Berg and Joseph Rostvold; sisters, Maybelle Berg and Ruby Hoyem; and stepson, Richard Sadler.
