Helen M. Pattison, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Danville, IL & Milford, IL
Helen M. Pattison passed away on Saturday (June 13, 2009) at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Mrs. Pattison was born May 31, 1918 in Armstrong, IL, a daughter of Elmer and Stella Furrow Rickart. She married Joseph G. Pattison on November 2, 1946 in Watseka. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2008.
Surviving Helen are one son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Jane Pattison of Springfield, IL; three step-grandchildren, Michael Unser of Olympia, WA, Elisabeth Unser of Morrisonville, IL and Christian (Jessica) Unser of Waterloo, IL; two step-great-grandchildren, Emily and Evan Unser of Waterloo, IL; two nieces, Sandra (Jack) Warner of Salem, SC and Barbara Maschmeyer of Burbank, CA; and two nephews, Terry (Brenda) Rickart of Charles City, IA and Charles (Judy) Pattison of Tucson, AZ.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and one brother, Kenneth T. Rickart.
Helen graduated from Armstrong Township High School in 1936 and attended Utterbach Business School in Danville. She was employed at the USDA office in Danville for ten years before moving to Milford in 1947. She retired in 1990 after twenty-eight years of serving as librarian at the Milford District Library. She was a member of, and organist for, the Milford United Methodist Church for many years, prior to moving to Sprigfield in 2005. She was also a member of the Women’s Club of Milford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford, with the Rev. Paul Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the services on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Milford District Library or the Milford United Methodist Church.
James Lowell Madison, 46, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Watseka, IL
James Lowell Madison died Friday (June 5, 2009) at his home after a short illness.
Visitation will run for 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service on Saturday, June 20 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Mark Creek will officiate.
Mr. Madison was born July 3, 1962 in Lafayette, IN, a son of Lowell E. and Mayble Noble Madison. He married Jill Johnson on December 22, 1984 in Watseka, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his father, Lowell Madison; two sons, Jake Madison and Jesse Madison, both of Kissimmee, FL; one daughter, Jacqui, of Kissimmee, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Nicole Madison of Wichita Falls, TX and Timothy and Jeni Madison of Watseka; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Madison was in the construction business. He enjoyed fishing and riding go-carts with his boys.

Doyle L. Fowler, Sr., 52, of Milford, IL
Doyle L. Fowler Sr. died Tuesday (June 16, 2009) at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. The graveside service and Burial will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Aroma Twp. Cemetery in Aroma Park.
Mr. Fowler was born October 7, 1956, a son of Darrell A. and Avonelle K. Herrold Fowler. He married Paula McLaughlin on April 13, 1978 in Bradley, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his father, Darrell A. Fowler of Crescent City; one daughter, Deandra Fowler of Milford; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Doyle Fowler Jr. of Ashkum, David Fowler of Milford, Dustin and Amber Fowler of Sheldon and Christopher McLaughlin of Sheldon; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Krystal and Ken Horstmann of Iroquois, Kitty Fowler of Herscher and Karlene Fowler of Kankakee; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dennis and Lana Fowler of Bradley and Darrell L. and Pam Fowler of Chebanse; four step-brothers and two step-sisters-in-law, Ramond and Debbie Sthay of Aroma Park, Gerald Sthay of Algonquin, Gary and Nona Sthay of Kankakee and Howard Sthay of Acworth, GA; two step-sisters and two step brothers-in-law, Ardythe and Joe Lagesse of Bonfield and Edythe and Mike Cuprys of Watseka; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Avonelle Fowler, his step-mother, Therese A. Sthay Fowler and five sisters.

Sally Joann Hansen, 72, of Chebanse, IL
Sally Joann Hansen died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her home. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, where services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Connie Williams Moodie will officiate.
Mrs. Hansen was born May 27, 1937 in Midland, MI, a daughter of Joseph and Laura Elizabeth Jardis. She married Merritt D. Hansen on March 4, 19692 in San Diego, CA. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Meredith and John Anno of Galesburg, IL and Laurie and Shane Sheets of Grayling, MI; five grandchildren, Robert, Kaitlyn and Jeremiah Anno and Nicholas and Luke Sheets; one great-grandchild, Laurie Rose Sheets; and one sister, Jean Hagenow of Raymond, ME.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Hansens enjoyed crocheting and shopping.

Maria M. Koester, 90, of Danforth, IL, formerly of Watseka, IL
Maria M. Koester died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka and for one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. The Rev. Carl Janssen will officiate. Burial will be at Iroquois Memorial Park in Watseka.
Maria Koester was born October 24, 1918, a daughter of Dietrich and Hauke Henrichs Schleef. She married Adolf H. Koester on March 26, 1939 in Woodworth, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Donna Koester of Watseka; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Carl Stubenrauch of Boulder, CO; one brother, Edwin Schleef of Danforth, IL; one sister, Martha Koester of Watseka; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Koester in death was her parents, four brothers, six sisters and one grandson, James Koester.
Mrs. Koester was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and flowers. She was also a former Volunteer of the Year at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.

Robert E. Meyer, 88, of Ocean Springs, MS, formerly of Onarga, IL
Robert E. Meyer died April 19, 2009 in Ocean Springs, MS.

Gladys M. Toelstede, 86, of Milford, IL
Gladys M. Toelstede died Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Sheldon Health Care Center in Sheldon, IL.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford and for one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford. The Rev. Jason Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford, IL.
Gladys was born February 11, 1923 in Thawville, IL, a daughter of Fred and Martha Hornstein Zabel. She married Wilbur W. Toelstede on June 2, 1946 in Watseka, IL. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2003.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jo Ann Toelstede of Atlanta, GA and Gary and Kathy Toelstede of Milford; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Bill Ware of Lafayette, IN and Joyce Napier of Delphi, IN; two sisters, Orilla Kottke of Minnesota and Martha St. Peter of Watseka; nine grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Gladys had been a homemaker. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford; a member of the Ash Grove Household Science Club; and a member of Heritage Woods Kitchen Band. She enjoyed playing cards with friends from Milford, IL, and also enjoyed puzzles and word searches.
Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford or Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
Lola F. Bailey, 90, of Danforth, IL, formerly of Onarga, IL
Lola F. Bailey died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga, IL, where services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Elizabeth Reis will officiate.
Mrs. Bailey was born May 11, 1919 in Gilman, IL, a daughter of Conrad and Gladys Fae Hamer Sharp. She married Harold D. Bailey on September 14, 1940 in Perryville, MO. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1976.
Survivors of Mrs. Bailey include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sally Bailey of Bolivar, MO, Jerry and Catherine Bailey of Ashkum, IL and Alan and Kay Bailey of Watseka, IL; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jerry Gourley of Thawville, IL; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, was her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Bailey worked in the office at and retired from the Louis Melind Company. She was a member of the Onarga United Methodist Church in Onarga and enjoyed flowers, crocheting and visiting with friends.

Lee D. Behrends, 80, of Clifton, IL
Lee D. Behrends died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton, IL. The Revs. Peter Hinrich and William Callister will officiate.
Mr. Behrends was born January 25, 1929, a son of Herman and Mabel Corbin Behrends. He married Helen Joyce Rutherford on September 5, 1953 in Kankakee, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Lisa Behrends of Kankakee, IL, Donald Behrends and fiancee, Katie of Sheldon, IL, and Robert and Valerie Behrends of Brighton, IL; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Sandra Behrends and Larry and Tana Behrends all of Clifton, IL, and Roger and Amy Behrends of Tuscola, IL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Ann and Fred Krueger of Ashkum, IL and Glendola and Roger Meyer of Gilman, IL; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Behrends in death was his parents.
Mr. Behrends was a
Korean War veteran. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton and the American Legion in Clifton.

Luella A. Caisse-Sprehe, 84, of Paxton, IL
Luella A. Caisse-Sprehe died on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Visitation for Mrs. Caisse-Sprehe will be for one hour prior to the 12:00 p.m. service on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Knapp-Miller Funeral Home in Paxton, IL. The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Buckley, IL.
Mrs. Caisse-Sprehe was born June 29, 1925 in Miami County, IN, a daughter of Birch and Ina Bone Finch. She was first married to William A. Caisse and he died in October, 1956. She then married Albert H. Sprehe on June 1, 1963 in Buckley, IL. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2004.
Survivors include four sons, Tom Caisse of Champaign, IL, Bob Caisse of Foristell, MO, Kenny Caisse of Paxton, IL and Danny Caisse of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Mary Bentley of Greentown, IN; one sister, Joan Hardesty and one brother, Robert Finch, both of Kokomo, IN; one special niece and nephew-in-law, Gloria and Scott Stuart of Kansas City, MO; eleven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, one sister and one son, Bill Caisse.
Mrs. Caisse-Sprehe had been a homemaker and worked part-time at Howard County School in Indiana. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buckley, IL.

Rebecca L. Inman, 35, of Hoopeston, IL
Rebecca L. Inman died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at her home.

Ms. Inman was born March 30, 1974, a daughter of LeRoy and Patricia Ann Giroux Inman.
Survivors include one son, Isaiah Inman of Hoopeston, IL; one sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Ronnie Edwards of Milford, IL; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Russell and Serese Inman and Ryan Inman all of Cherryville, NC; a boyfriend, Steve Grant of Rossville, IL; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Rodney Inman; three sisters, Robin Maples, Pamela Inman and Rhonda Longest; and one son, Christian Inman.
Ms. Inman was a member of the Milford Christian Church.
Patricia M. Behm, 74, of Ashkum, IL
Patricia M. Behm died Friday, July 3, 2009 at Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton, IL.

Mrs. Behm was born December 11, 1934 in Ashkum, IL, a daughter of Roy H. and Marjorie Parker Brinkman. She married Derry L. Behm on June 25, 1955 in Ashkum, IL. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Rick Winkel of Urbana, IL and Denise and Lloyd Rattigan of Kenosha, WI; two sons and daughters-in-law, Derry Jr. and Melissa Behm of St. Charles, IL and David and Julie Behm of Philo, IL; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Mrs. Behm had been an RN and a Teacher’s Aid. She was a member of the Ashkum United Methodist Church and an avid fan of both Central High School Athletics and the Cubs. She loved fishing and enjoyed her home on the Iroquois River.
