Marie Catherine Sokal of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Marie Catherine Sokal (nee Ferstel), 83, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Route 83) and Lincoln St., Mount Prospect.
Born Sept. 24, 1915, in Chicago, she died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at Norwood Park Home. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Sokal; daughter of the late Loretta (nee Carey) and WilliamG. Ferstel; and sister of William G. Ferstel Jr., James L. (Mary Alyce) Ferstel and Geraldine M. (Joseph) Reising.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect and from 11:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Tuesday, at the church.

Annalee Traub of Woodstock
Private graveside services for Annalee Traub, 58, formerly of Elgin, will be held at Crystal Lake Union Cemetery, Crystal Lake.
Born Aug. 1, 1940, in Elgin, the daughter of Paul and Anna Anderson Traub, she died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
Ms. Traub had been a resident of the Sheltered Village in Woodstock for the past 13 years. She attended Beverly Lake School and the Elgin Rehabilitation Center, both in Elgin, and the Pioneer Center in McHenry. Annalee participated in the Special Olympics, winning numerous medals.
Survivors include her brother, Glenn (Mary) Traub of Elgin; and nieces, Susan Traub of Milwaukee, Wis. and Karen Traub of Elgin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will not be a visitation.
Memorials may be given to the Elgin Rehabilitation Center or the Pioneer Center in McHenry.

Ruth Elizabeth Watson of Naperville
A visitation for Ruth Elizabeth Watson (nee Oakford), 92, will befrom 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at BeidelmanKunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville.
Born April 16, 1906, in Walnut, Ill., she died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at home. Private interment will be in Naperville Cemetery.
A Naperville resident since 1928, Mrs. Watson graduated high school in Walnut and continued her education by taking many classes over the years at Northern Illinois University, Illinois State University, the Art Institute of Chicagoand the University of Colorado. She was the first Art teacher hired in the Naperville schools after World War I, and taught for many years at Ellsworth School. She was a member of the Naperville Woman's Club and served as president in 1953. She also served as president of the Naperville Garden Club. Mrs. Watson served on the Naperville School Board from 1950 to 1958, and then returned to teaching in 1958, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include her son, James Gordon Watson of Naperville; grandson, Jeffery (Julie) Watson of Arlington Heights; stepgranddaughter, Mary (Jalal) Samadani of Virginia Beach, Va.; and great-grandson, Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watson in 1975; and one great-grandchild.

Vera Mary Wilder of Round Lake Beach
A funeral Mass for Vera Mary Wilder will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 N. Lincoln St., Round Lake.
Born in New Orleans, La., she passed awayThursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at Provena St. Therese Medical Center, Waukegan. Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemeteryin Grayslake.
Formerly of Chicago, Mrs. Wilder had made her home in Round Lake Beach since 1973.
Survivors includeher daughter, Vera Lobono of Round Lake Beach; grandsons, James Michael Remillard and Dominic Christopher Lobono; sister, Ruth Skiera of Round Lake Beach; stepdaughter, Doris Patitz of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Modeste Cousins; sister, Odessa Templeton; and brother, Harold Cousins.

Born Aug. 10, 1907, in Olin, Iowa, she died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Winchester House in Libertyville. Interment will be in Woodman Cemetery, Clarissa, Minn.
A resident of Libertyville since 1991, she and her husband farmed in the Northern Illinois area for many years and later retired to Nevada, Iowa from 1973 to 1983. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Libertyville and was a music teacher before she married. Before her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for Deerfield State Bank.
Survivors include her daughter, Glatha (William) Henson of Libertyville; grandchildren, Michael Henson of Park City, Utah, Thomas Henson of Libertyville, Christopher (Danielle) Henson of Palatine and Julie Cavitt of St. Charles; and nephew, Larry Rogers of Wadena.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Bessie Rogers; husband, Stanley Case in 1983; and brother, Cecil Rogers.

Ernest Harvey Pendergrass, D. C. of Des Plaines
Services for Dr. Ernest Harvey Pendergrass, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Church of Christ, 2300 Cardinal Drive, Rolling Meadows, where hewill lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Born Dec. 11, 1916, in Farmer Branch, Texas, he died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at his residence. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
A resident of Des Plaines for 44 years, Dr. Pendergrass was a chiropractor for 44 years in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago and was a member of the National Chiropractors Association. A veteran, he had served in the
Army during World War II. He also helped establish, and preached for, many Church of Christ congregations. Dr. Pendergrass was a past president of the Northwest Lions Club in Chicago and was also a very talented artist.
Survivors include his wife, Halina J. Pendergrass (nee Sejud); daughters, Mary B. Baney of Wisconsin, Janet C. (Tom) Butcher of Tennessee, Carole E. (John) Stickle of Texas and Diana J. (Casey) Gibson of Hoffman Estates; sisters, Pauline Mullens of Texas and Billie Wright of Washington; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A. Norman Danielsen formerly of Wheaton
Services for A. Norman Danielsen, 84, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream for the past 10 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
Born June 22, 1914, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at Johnson Healthcare Center in Carol Stream. Interment will be in Wheaton Cemetery.
Mr. Danielsen had attended the Mexico (Missouri) military Academy for three years and played French horn in the band. He graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago. Mr. Danielsen retired after 30 years as a design engineer for the electromotive division of General Motors inLa Grange.
After retiring, he worked for Ace Hardware in Wheaton for seven years and enjoyed his hobbies, which included repairing antique clocks and building doll houses and miniature furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Kathryn Danielsen (nee Palmer), originally of La Grange, whom he married Sept. 10, 1938; daughters, Sandra (Richard) Mollitor and Diane (William) Baker; grandchildren, Kathryn (Michael) Bytner, Amy (Robert) King and Robert Mollitor; and great-grandson, Matthew David Bytner.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Gladys MaCurdy DeBeir of St. Charles
A funeral Mass for Gladys MaCurdy DeBeir, 87, will be celebratedat 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Patrick's Church, 408 Cedar St., St. Charles.
Born Nov. 9, 1911, in Batavia, to Charles and Pearl (nee Wall) MaCurdy, she died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Delnor Community Hospital. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Prior to her retirement in 1972, Mrs. DeBeir had been employed as a dental assistant and receptionist to Dr. William Angell and Dr. Paul Traubert. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Women's Club and the Prime Timers of St. Patrick's Church.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Julius `Dutch' DeBeir; sons, Jerry (Yvonne) DeBeir and Richard (Lory) DeBeir, both of St. Charles; daughter, Nancy (Tom) Sweet of St. Charles; grandchildren, Sue (Michael) Frank, Mellisa (Timothy) Messmer, Jay (Traci) DeBeir, Jon and Jamie Dietrich, Elizabeth (Patrick) Berkos, Lynda (Michael) Clementz, Julie Sweet, Patricia (Eliot) Kaufman and Thomas (Debra) Sweet; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Walker of Batavia; brother, Earl (Betty) MaCurdy of Spokane, Wash.; and aunt, Bernadine Pliess of Seattle, Wash.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, John, in 1995; sister, June Schmidt; and brother, Charles MaCurdy.
