M. EVELYN KRIGBAUM

Mary Evelyn Krigbaum, 86, of 120 Southwood Drive, Clinton, North Carolina, died at 4:50 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at the Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton, North Carolina. She was formerly of Sunnyland and Glasford.
Born July 1, 1918 in Monmouth to Edward James and Clarinda Estelle Hedding Robertson, she married William Thomas Krigbaum on February 5, 1937 in Monmouth. He died November 9, 1968 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, two brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are one son, Robert C. (Veda) Krigbaum of Grand Forks, North Dakota; three daughters, Janet L. (Reuben) James of Falcon, North Carolina, Barbara A. (Arthur) Fore of Metamora and Carol L. (Dennis) Raines of Glasford; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
She retired from K-Mart in Peoria as a department manager in 1984 after 25 years of service.
She was a member of Highview Church of God in Washington.
She enjoyed painting, working crossword puzzles and making crafts.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. Edwin R. Beasley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

DOROTHY M. BENNETT
(1915~2005)
PEKIN ~ Dorothy Mary Bennett, 89, of 706 South 7th Street, died at 4:20 a.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at her residence.
Born November 12, 1915 in Minier to George and Rachel Matilda Winstead Hayes, she married Joseph Renic Bennett on January 22, 1940 in Pekin. He died October 13, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri. She also was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are three daughters, Rachel J. Myers, Patricia A. Barker and Mary J. Bennett, all of Pekin; three sons, Thomas W. (Linda) Bennett, Joseph D. (Judy) Bennett, both of Pekin and Charles W. Bennett of East Peoria; thirteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren and twenty-three great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Floy’s Nursing Home in Pekin for 3 years and then for 23 years at Pekin Hospital, retiring on December 31, 1980. She was a member of the Pekin Hospital Retirees Club.
She enjoyed reading, quilting and crocheting.
She was a former member of Deer Creek United Methodist Church.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Imhoff Cemetery at Congerville.

JERRY WINGER
(1968~2005)
PEKIN ~ Jerry Lee “Skeeter” Winger, 36, of Pekin, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Pekin Hospital Emergency Room.
Born November 27, 1968 in California to Suzanne Winger, he married Jackie S. Bartholomew on January 8, 1994 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; one daughter, Kelsie J.J. Winger at home; one sister, Lia (David) Daniels of Texas; two brothers, Phillip (Misty) Winger and Aaron Winger, both of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.
He worked for Pepsi Americas in Morton as a fleet mechanic for the past 5 years, last working on Friday. He was a member of Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria.
He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and four wheeling.
His graveside funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

NELLIE P. DICKERSON
(1911~2005)
PEKIN ~ Nellie Pearl Dickerson, 93, of 1520 El Camino Drive, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Pekin Manor.
Born July 27, 1911 in Brookston, Indiana to Terry Albert and Laura Jane Roby Deweese, she married Donzil John Dickerson on November 27, 1934 in Edwardsville. He died October 13, 2002 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jack (Helen) Dickerson of Bethesda, Maryland; two grandchildren, Jacqueline C. (Nestor) Olivier of Saddle River, New Jersey and Brian J. Dickerson of Washington, D.C.; and one great-granddaughter, Anais I. Olivier of Saddle River, New Jersey.
A homemaker, she enjoyed baking and family time.
Private graveside services will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
Arrangements are by the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

DAVID H. BEIMFOHR
(1985~2005)
PEKIN ~ David Hallie Beimfohr, 19, of 13780 1st Street, Midway Addition, died at 7:04 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2005 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazelcrest.
He was born April 28, 1985 in Pekin to Hallie Lee and Rita Marie Wheeler Beimfohr.
Surviving are his parents of Pekin; three brothers, Dustin Lutz, Jeremy Beimfohr, and Daniel Lutz all of Pekin; two sisters, Amber Beimfohr and Deanna Huffman, both of Pekin; Paternal Grandparents, Hallie and Judy Beimfohr of Pekin; maternal grandparents, Bonnie Munson, and Rich and Brenda Wheeler, all of Pekin; and great-grandmother, Betty Wiggins of Pekin.
His great-grandparents preceded him in death.
He enjoyed boating, swimming, riding his bike, listening to music, and loved to visit his family.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

WENDELL W. PERKINS
(1917~2005)
PEKIN ~ Wendell W. Perkins, 87, of 622 Washington Street, Pekin, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. He was formerly of Creve Coeur.
Born October 20, 1917 in Narrows Township, Macon County, Missouri to Henry Clauda and Lelah Banta Perkins, he married Hettie Ruth Whiles on September 22, 1940 in Moberly, Missouri. She died March 25, 2004 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two sons, David C. (Connie) Perkins and Rodney J. (Sue) Perkins, both of Pekin; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Beatrice Baldwin of Macon, Missouri.
He was a World War II
Army veteran and served with the 1265th Engineer Combat Battalion in the European Theater of Operations.
He was employed by Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1974 from the special attachments area in East Peoria.
A folk artist, he was a handyman and able to fix just about anything. He also enjoyed fishing and
hunting.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

WILBUR F. STEINGRABER
(1926~2005)
PEKIN ~ Wilbur Francis Steingraber, 78, of 925 Audubon Drive in Pekin, died at 2:37 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born April 21, 1926 in River Grove, IL to Fred and Martha Rickert Steingraber, he married Kathryn Marie “Kay” Maurer on January 26, 1952 in Normal, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra K. (Jeff de Castro) Steingraber of Trumansburg, New York and Julie M. (Doug Jones) Skocaj-Jones of Pekin; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four step-great-grandchildren and three brothers, Fred (Lois) Steingraber of Villa Park, Leroy (Violet) Steingraber of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Roger (Joyce) Steingraber of Clinton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
A World War II
Army veteran, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations and in the Yukon Territory in Canada. He also was a recruiter of the Fifth
Army in Chicago. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Steingraber attended the United States Armed Forces Institute, Northwestern University, The University of Illinois and received his Masters Degree in Business Education from Illinois State University. He was a charter member of the Delta Pi Epsilon Honor Society and was awarded membership in the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society.
Mr. Steingraber was a professor of Business Administration and Accounting at Illinois Central College in East Peoria from 1967 until retiring in 1983. He previously taught business department classes at Pekin Community High School from 1953 to 1967.
He was a life member of the Illinois Education Association, National Education Association, Midwest Business Education Association, American Accounting Association, Illinois Vocational Association and the Illinois Business Education Association.
He wintered in Gulf Shores, Alabama and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and golfing 
.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin, where a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2005. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Cremation will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.

SYLVIA L. DODILLET
(1925~2005)
MORTON ~ Sylvia Lee Dodillet, 79, of 191 East Queenwood Road, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Morton Terrace Care Center. She was formerly of 541 Roberts Street in Creve Coeur.
Born June 30, 1925 in Jay, Oklahoma to Floyd and Cora Lackey Birkes, she married Lloyd Justin Dodillet on December 22, 1945 in Piggott, Arkansas. He survives of Morton.
Also surviving are one son, Larry R. (Rebecca) Dodillet, Sr. of East Peoria; one daughter, Jo Ann (Robert) Sims of East Peoria; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna (Samuel) Stuber of Centralia and Velma (Ivan) Yates of Flora; and two brothers, Floyd (Peggy) Birkes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and William (Gale) Birkes of Monahans, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Harvey Birkes and John Birkes), and two sisters (Addie Arnold and Betty Lambird).
She was a former member of the McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin and Elmridge Baptist Church in East Peoria where she was a primary Sunday school teacher. She assisted her husband in his lay ministry at area nursing homes for many years. On June 3, 1962, she accepted Jesus as her Savior at the Elmridge Baptist Church in East Peoria.
She enjoyed making singing, cooking, baking, and making crafts.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. Brother David B. Hickman will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded.

MILDRED E. ARMSTRONG
(1922~2005)
PEKIN ~ Mildred Evelyn “Millie” Pye Armstrong, 82, of 2007 Sheridan Road, died at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005 at her home. She was formerly of East Peoria and Escondido, California.
Born January 10, 1922 in Bartonville to Warner and Mary Wick Pye, she married Paul E. Armstrong on March 24, 1967 in Janesville, Wisconsin. He died February 16, 1989 in California. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Surviving are one brother, Warner Pye of Glasford; two sisters, Leona “Sis” Helms and Marie Wyss, both of Bartonville; and her niece, Cheri J. Davis, and grand-nieces, Mary Schlitt, Stacy Ogborn, and Amy Cunningham with whom she made her home.
A licensed funeral director and embalmer for 47 years, she was the first woman to practice in the East Peoria area. She began working for Harold Schmidt in 1942 at the Schmidt Funeral Parlors in East Peoria where she worked for many years and later owned and operated, until the sale of the funeral parlors to the late Robert Haller in 1968. In 1990, she was honored by the Illinois Funeral Directors Association for her 46 years of being licensed.
She also had been a deputy coroner for the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office under Coroner Harold Schmidt.
She was a member of the United Reformed Church and Emblem Club, both in Escondido, California. She also had been a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Pekin.
She enjoyed reading and gardening.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before services. The Rev. Harmen Heeg will officiate. Burial will in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorial contributions for a grave marker may be made to a fund which has been established at Herget National Bank in Pekin.
WAUNITA MAE GRAMMER
(1929~2005)
CREVE COEUR—Waunita Mae Grammer, 75, of 240 N. Stewart St. died at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Morton Terrace, Ltd. in Morton.
Born June 3, 1929 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Collett and Waunita Traverse Schahfer, she married Russell R. “Buck” Grammer on November 5, 1948 in Lafayette, Indiana.
Surviving are her husband; 4 sons, Collett Russell (Carol) Grammer, William “Bill” Edward Grammer, and Kyle Eugene Grammer, all of Creve Coeur, and Shannon Troy (Denise) Grammer of Campbell, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Edward Jones; and 1 son, Martin D. Grammer on December 7, 1975 in Killeen, Texas.
Mrs. Grammer last worked as a school bus driver for the Creve Coeur school district for many years. Previously, she had been a waitress in the East Peoria area for many years.
She was a member and former deaconess at First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur.
She was a member of the Creve Coeur American Legion Post # 1234 Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur. Rev. David Lynn will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
