SESSER -- Mima C. Fornear, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in 1st Christian Church with the Rev. Dan Williams and Rev. Eldon James officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Brayfield-Gilbert funeral home. Visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until service Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Fornear was a homemaker. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church fro 82 years and was baptized in 1919. She was born on Dec. 25, 1910 in Gatewood, Mo, to Minerva Winn and Robert Silkwood. She married James Fornear in August of 1928 in Benton. They preceded her in death. Survivors include three children, Jack Fornear of Sesser, Janice Murphy and husband Troy of Martinsville, Ind. and James Fornear and wife Peg of Naples, Fla.; one sister, Nellie Boyd of Ofallon; and 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Darr, Judith White and Freda Boyd and one grandchild.

CARPENTERSVILLE -- Georgene Bloch, age 73, died Jan. 6, 2002 at the Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born May 6, 1928 in Willard , Wisconsin to Beverly Collins and Deborah ( Robins ) Collins. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Jones and Sharry Bos, both of Carpentersville and Gloria Gould of West Frankfort; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Spallings of Paducah, Ky., Mae Clary of Elgin, Irene Sutton of Bruce, Wis. and Annie Golding of Elgin; and four brothers, Earl Collins of Elgin, Beverly Collins of Ladysmith, Wis. Clifford Collins of Black River Falls, Wis. and William Collins of Paducah, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by brothers, Jerry, Howard, Archie and infant brother Aaron. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastors Wayne and Barbara Gardner officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

NASHVILLE -- Dora E. Smith, 85, of Pelham, Ala., formerly of Nashville, died at 6:25 a. m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in her residence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Carter and Rev. Phillip Easterling officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home. L. Fletcher 'Fletch' Hartline
CARBONDALE -- L. Fletcher "Fletch" Hartline, 60, of Carbondale, died at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on Oct. 14, 1941, in Dongola to Ivo (Keller) and Edward Corzine. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Audrey (Osman) Hartline; his son, Gary of Carbondale; one daughter, Keri Ann Stoodley; son-in-law, Steve; grandson Ryan; and twin granddaughters Nicole and Lauren, all of Makanda. He is also survived by a brother, H. Wayne Corzine; sister-in-law, Carol; five nephews, Douglas, Brad, Jonathan, David, and Brent, all of Marion; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Fred Maxwell; and two nieces, Cori of Springfield, Mo., and P. J. of Danbury, Conn. He was a member of Murdale Baptist Church. His profession was a tonsorial artist, manipulator of keen-edged tools (barber), an avid woodturner, and he enjoyed gardening. He will be remembered for his love, patience, and quick-witted words of wisdom. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 in Murdale Baptist Church, with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the church. Huffman-Harker Funeral Home is in charge of services. CREAL SPRINGS -- Donald R. "Don" Adams Sr., 64, passed away at 3:03 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. David Hancock and the Rev. Art Watson officiating. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. today by the Marion Masonic Lodge 89 AF & AM. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery

Mr. Adams was born on April 30, 1938, in Creal Springs to Howard and Juanita (Yates) Adams. He married Yvonne Pulley on June 8, 1957, in Marion. Mr. Adams was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Creal Springs. He retired from GTE in 1995 where he worked as a service technician. He was a member of the Marion Masonic Lodge 89 AF & AM, The Order of the Eastern Star No. 350 and IBEW Local No. 702. Donald loved his family, he loved to camp and fish and he loved his dachshunds. He is survived by his parents, Howard and Juanita Adams of Creal Springs; his wife, Yvonne Adams of Creal Springs; his children, Keith and Kim Adams, Kim and Tony Rodgers, Kevin and Melissa Adams, Karen and Ronald Johnson and J. R. Adams, all of Creal Springs; grandchildren, Brandi and Josh Johns, Josh Rodgers, Rachelle Adams, Ashley Johnson, Gareth Adams, Sarah Allen and Lucas Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Dale and Kay Adams of Marion; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Deon Davis of Creal Springs, Violet and Randall McFarland of Marion and Cheryl and Gordon Starnes of Marion. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was born June 1, 1922, in Wickliffe, Ky., to Joe and Willie M. (Ross) Hawthorne. She married Norman A. "Art" Pate on April 19, 1946. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diana Pate of Flower Mound; two granddaughters, Danette Pate of Flower Mound and Amanda Myers and husband, Joshua, of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson and wife, Derek and Carrie Pate of Oklahoma City; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Pate of Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Gunter of Marryville, Tenn., and Genevieve Hawthorne of Murphysboro; two brothers-in-law, Everett Pate and wife, Reba Jo, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ted Pate of Murphysboro; one nephew and wife, Bill and Judy Hawthorne of Davenport, Iowa; and one niece, Sue Hawthorne of Murphysboro.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Dona Wiseman of Newark, Del., and Don and Betty Wiseman of Creal Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Jean and Lucky Logan of Okawville and Joy and Thom Wiseman of Creal Springs; two brothers, Lester and Robert Wiseman, both of Marion; three sisters, Wilma Sanders of Johnston City, and Freda Smothers and Margaret Ann Kincheloe, both of Marion; 11 grandchildren, Lloyd Ray Wiseman Jr. and Donald Lee Wiseman, both of Newark, Johnny, Gary, Adam and Aaron Logan, all of Okawville, Ashley Mize of Herrin, and Jim Bazzetti, Dana Wiseman, Amanda Clark and Jesse Sturgeon, all of Creal Springs; many great-grandchildren, including Tyler and Tayvin Robinson, both of Creal Springs; and special friends, Mary Franklin of Marion and Rhonda Branson, both of Creal Springs.
