SHAWNEETOWN -- Robert "Bob" Williams, 68, of 220 W. Logan, Shawneetown, died at 6:17 a. m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, in Harrisburg Medical Center. Services will be at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday at Vickery Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be in Nickelsville Cemetery in Nickelsville, Va. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7 p. m.

William Allabastro
DU QUOIN -- William F. Allabastro, 77, died at 1:36 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at home. Services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Shaw DeMent officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, with graveside military rites conducted by the Du Quoin VFW. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p. m. today and from 7:30 a. m. until time of services Tuesday at the Neal-McClure Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cletis L. Morris
VIENNA -- Cletis L. Morris, 85, A resident of rural route Vienna passed away at 9:25 a. m. Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2002, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky. Morris was born on Dec. 12, 1916, in the Flatwoods community in Johnson County. He was the son of Ivory Morris and Leora (Simmons) Morris. Cletis was united in marriage to Marjorie (Taylor) in New Burnside on Sep. 5, 1944. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Roger Morris of Huntsville, Ala. ; one daughter Starla Davis and her husband Jerry of Edwardsville; two grandchildren, Shawna Davis and Dustin Davis; two sisters, Letha Phelps of Metropolis and Clara Abbott of Marion; one brother, Lewis Morris of Plano; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cletis was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Morris and Ward Morris, and one sister Murlie Campbell. Cletis was the former owner and operator of a grocery and service station in Simpson for over 23 years. He also had been employed as the maintenance supervisor for the Johnson County Housing Authority for 11 years. Cletis was a two-term Johnson County Clerk. He served from Dec. 1, 1978 to Dec. 1, 1986. Cletis was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran, having served during World War II. He was a former member of the Harry Sullins American Legion Post in Vienna. Cletis was an active and dedicated member of the Simpson Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was a charter member of the Millstone Water District Board of Directors. Cletis enjoyed gardening, crafts and automotive and small engine repair projects. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Ron Jackson, assisted by Rev. William Barrett will officiate. Burial will be in the Simpson Crossroads Cemetery. military graveside rites will be accorded by the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post of Vienna. Friends may call after 4 p. m. today at Balley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Heather Harper-Treat Memorial Cancer Fund, P. O. Box 98, Vienna, IL 62995; Simpson Baptist Church, P. O. Box 102, Simpson, IL 62985; or Simpson Crossroads Cemetery, 5465 State Route 147, Vienna, IL 62985. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Johanna Beek
NASHVILLE -- Johanna M. Beek, 86, died at 3:27 p. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Washington County Hospital. Services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Pastor Timothy Scharr officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Monday and 7:30 to 9 a. m. Tuesday in Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes. Association.

Clarence Dlubala
OAKDALE -- Clarence Dlubala of Oakdale departed this life at his residence at 3:47 p. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002. He had attained the age of 49 years, 11 months and nine days. Clem was born at St. Louis, Mo. on Jan. 25, 1952. He was the son of Ted and Dorothy (Nee Rybacki) Dlubala. He was united in marriage to Annie Kabat at Las Vegas, Nev. on Nov. 20, 1985, and she survives his passing. Mr. Dlubala was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church at Nashville. He was a fork truck operator at Nascote Industries in Nashville. He also as engaged in farming. Clem was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Annie of Oakdale; a daughter Robin Duecker and special friend Doug Reuter of Nashville; a son, Danny Dlubala of Oakdale; his mother, Dorothy Dlubala of Oakdale; one grandchild, Lainey Duecker; a sister, Janet Heseman and husband Dean of Nashville; his grandmother, Mrs. Alex Rybacki of Radom; his mother-in-law, Lorene Kabat of DuBois; two sisters-in-law, Pat Stern and husband Bill and Brenda Chesnek and husband Gary, all of Ashley; four brothers-in-law, Mike Kabat and wife Cathy of Tamaroa, Dave Kabat of Turtle Creek, W. Va. , Jim Kabat and wife Angela of Ashley and Ronald Kabat and wife Vickie of the state of Kansas; two God children, Justin and Angie Heseman of St. Louis, Mo. ; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Ted, grandfather Alex Rybacki and father-in-law Leonard Kabat. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville at 10 a. m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville from 5 to 9 p. m. Monday and 7:30 to 9:30 a. m. Tuesday. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p. m. Monday. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Ann Renovation Fund or to the American Diabetes. Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Lottie Odle
GALATIA -- Lottie Odle, 80, of Leesburg, Fla. , formerly of Galatia, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002. Services will be at 1 p. m. Wednesday in Sloan Funeral Home. with burial in East Fork Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Dixie Brandon
GALATIA -- Dixie Brandon, 100, died at 6:45 p. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Services will be held at 11 a. m. Monday in Sloan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Webber Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.

William Allabastor
DU QUOIN -- William F. Allabastor, 77, died at 1:36 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 in his residence. Arrangements are incomplete at Neal-McClure Funeral Home.

Vernell Kesler
DONGOLA -- Vernell Kesler, 89, of Paducah, Ky. , formerly of Dongola, died at 8:45 a. m. , Thursday, Jan. 3. 2002, in the Superior Care Home in Paducah. She was born on June 6, 1912 in Ballard County, Ky. to James Ord and Maude A. (Abernathy) Rudolph. She married Rev. Lester Kesler on Dec. 3, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1998. She was a member of the Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had been very active in mission work of the church and had served as a Presbyterian president, Kentucky synodical president and a convention officer. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one brother, J. T. Rudolph of Paducah, Ky. ; one sister, Annabelle Moore of Paducah, Ky. ; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Hurley Rudolph and Maurice Rudolph. Funeral Services for Vernell Kesler will be held at 1:30 p. m. today, Jan. 5, 2002, in Crain Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Murrie officiating. Interment will be in the Meisenheimer Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 to 6 p. m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in Crain Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel College and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Tony 'Scotty' Lokotich
JOHNSTON CITY -- Tony "Scotty" Lokotich, 82, died at 1:10 p. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion. Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Johnston City, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites by the Marion Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p. m. today at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home, conducted by Sister Catherine Wellinghoff. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Parish Center building fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Mr. Lokotich was a factory worker, retiring from Diagraph Bradley. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Johnston City Knights of Columbus. He was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Johnston City to Shreko and Frances (Dragovich) Lokotich. He married Josie Gagliano on May 25, 1942, in Johnston City and she survives. Other survivors include a sister, Frances Steinberg of Johnston City; a stepbrother, Bart Chopp of Winona, Texas; one niece, JoAnn McNeal of Johnston City; one nephew, Michael Lamb of Herrin; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by her his parents, three sisters, Sadie Jansco, Katherine Lamb and Eva Lokotich, and two brothers, Steve Lokotich and Johnnie Chopp.

Allen Burlie Springer
MARION -- Allen Burlie Springer, 70, went to heaven on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002. He was a patient at St. John's Hospital in Springfield during the month of December. Funeral services will be held at Second Baptist Church in Marion at 11 a. m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002,with the Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with military Rites being performed at the grave by Marion VFW Post No. 1301 of Marion. Memorial contributions may be made to International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will be this evening from 4 to 9 p. m. at the funeral home. He was born January 8, 1931 in Caldwell, Mo to John and Maude (Deniston) Springer. They preceded him in death. He married Marilyn (Nicholson) Springer in Marion on April 1, 1952. She survives in Marion. Together they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. He was a graduate of Marion High School, served in the Korean Conflict in the U. S. Marine Corps. , earned an associates degree from John A. Logan College and was an active member of the Second Baptist Church. Allen was retired from General Telephone/Verizon in 1994 and a member of the Pioneers Club. Other survivors include daughter Karen Springer of Marion; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Alain Pennock of Marion; three grandsons, Tim and Kathy Springer missionaries to Russia, Caleb Pennock of Marion and Elijah Pennock of Marion; two great grandchildren Thaddaeus James and Ethan Theophilus Springer both of Russia. Preceded in death are brother John Jewel Springer, two sisters Eunice Jordan and Agnes Wilkins, sister in-law Wanda (Nicholson) Thompson, mother-in-law Jewell (Nicholson) Griffis and grandmother Lora Jane Beers. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 -- "and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. CHESTER -- Amanda L. Kriete, 95, of St. Mary, Mo. , died at 10:55 a. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in Riverview Manor, Genevieve, Mo. Services will be at 11 a. m. Monday in St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Willig and Martin Springer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today and 7:30 to 9:30 a. m. Monday at the Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel, then from 10 to 11 a. m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran-Radio Fund.

Pat RedCloud
ELCO -- Pat RedCloud, 57, of Elco, died at 11:37 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, in Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born on May 2, 1944, in Champaign to Dwight Robert and Nancy (Parker) Robinson. She married Charles RedCloud on Aug. 13, 1963. She attended the First Baptist Church in Ullin. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Charles of Elco; five sisters, Ruth Cunningham, Sue Hayworth and Judith Robinson, all of Owosso, Mich. , Phyllis Reed of Granite City and Irene Robinson of Ontario, Canada; three brothers, Bill Robinson of Owosso, Mich. , James Robinson of Martinsburg, W Va. and Larry Robinson of Union City, Tenn. ; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dwight Jr. and Jackson, three sisters, Audrey, Joyce and Dot. Funeral Services for Pat RedCloud will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in First Baptist Church in Ullin with the Rev. Richard Martin and Rev. Clint Nale officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p. m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, and Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, until the time of service at the Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Richard Mize
ORIENT -- Richard Mize, 65, died at 7:30 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at his residence. Services will be at 1 p. m. Monday in Union Funeral Home, with burial in Denning Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a. m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Mize worked at the Norge Plant in Herrin for many years. He retired from Inland II Coal Mine in 1987. He was born March 5, 1936, in Bush to Earl and Lillie (Pierce) Mize. He married Lillie May Hunt on Feb. 16, 1956, in Marion. She survives of Orient. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Rhonda Mize and John and Mandy Mize, all of West Frankfort; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and John Rentfro of Blairsville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, David Mize of West Frankfort. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl Mize, and one sister, Brenda Donahue.

Earl Sherfield
MARION -- Earl Sherfield, 88, of Marion, formerly of Creal Springs, died at 7 p. m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, in the Fountains Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a. m. Teusday in the IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis, with the Rev. David Siere officiating. There will be no visitation. Those attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
