CERRO GORDO -- E. Lorene Oliver, 88, of Cerro Gordo died Thursday (May 1, 2003).
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: United Methodist Church.
Lorene was born Aug. 25, 1914, in Cerro Gordo, the daughter of Argel and Rosa Ford. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of Home Extension. She married Wayne A. Oliver on Oct. 20, 1936, in Rockville, Ind. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1998.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Traxler and husband Gary of Arthur; son, Roger Oliver and wife Jeannette of Decatur; grandsons, Brian Traxler of Arthur; J. Ryan Oliver of Carbondale; granddaughters, Lori Finley and husband Greg of Arthur; Angela Held and husband Dan of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Justin Finley; Josephine "Josie" Held.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Wayne Ford.

ARTHUR -- Alberta J. "Bertie" Randolph, 82, of Arthur died 1:50 a.m. Friday (May 2, 2003) in the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Miss Randolph was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Douglas County, the daughter of Harry and Nellie May Abercrombie Randolph. She was a homemaker and former member of Cartwright United Methodist Church, Tuscola.
Surviving are a sister, Charlene Mayhall of Sullivan; nephews, Mike Mayhall and wife Ruanita of Sullivan; Mark Mayhall and wife Diana of Houston, Texas; niece, Nicki Mayhall of Arthur; great-nephews, Jeremy Hodge of Arthur; Marcus Mayhall of Houston; Michale Mayhall of Charleston; great-niece, Tammy Helfrich of Hammond; three great-great-nieces and nephews.

ATWOOD -- James Earl "Jim" Stilwell, 48, of Atwood died 8:04 a.m. Friday (May 2, 2003) in his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tuscola, with the Rev. Michael Ruhlig officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Hilligoss-Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood. Burial: Cartwright Cemetery, Tuscola. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family at 218 N. Iowa Street, Atwood, IL, for distribution in his name.
Mr. Stilwell was born Oct. 7, 1954, in Tuscola, the son of James McKinley and Janice Marie Johnson Stilwell. Mr. Stilwell was a former EMT and fireman with the Atwood Fire Department. He was a 1972 graduate of Atwood-Hammond High School. In October 1979, he and his wife became owners of Atwood Meat Service. Their business expanded to include the Amish Country Cheese Outlet Mall, the Amishland Country Buffet, Memories Sweet Shoppe and several other Atwood stores. In 2000, the Stilwells consolidated their businesses under one roof by opening Amishland Country Village in Tuscola. He also owned Amishland's Country Cafe in Atwood, and Amishland Country Smokehouse and Amishland's Country Buffet in Tuscola. He was baptized, confirmed, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tuscola, Atwood Lions Club, International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, Tuscola Elks Club, Museum Association of Douglas County, Douglas County Tourism, Illinois Amish Country, Central Illinois Tourism, Immanuel Lutheran Men's Club, the Atwood-Hammond school board for 10 years. He was listed in Who's Who of Executives and Professionals and Kingston Who's Who. He was the recipient of the Atwood Citizen of the Year award, as well as the prestigious Central Illinois Tourism Development Office Person of the Year award. He married Margaret Jo Kresin on Dec. 28, 1974, in Tuscola.
Surviving are his wife; parents of Atwood; daughters, Haley Elizabeth Stilwell and Megan Suzanne Stilwell, both at home; Heidi Jo Stilwell and Jami Joline Bowles and husband Ryan Bowles, all of Atwood; granddaughter, Mackenzi Marie Bowles of Atwood; sister, Chris Stilwell Barrett of Atwood; grandmother, Marge Stilwell of Hardinsburg, Ky.; as well as aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Michael Stilwell.

COOKS MILLS -- Dennis Scott Haney, 66, of Cooks Mills died 5:45 a.m. Saturday (May 17, 2003) in his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with the Rev. Ethelmae Champ officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Humboldt Cemetery. Memorials: Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Cooks Mills.
Dennis was born April 13, 1937, in Tuscola, the son of James and Sybil Baker Haney. He graduated from Arthur High School in 1955 and from the University of Illinois Air Institute in 1957. He served in the
Army from 1957 to 1960. Dennis farmed and was named Mattoon Jaycee Outstanding Young Farmer in 1973 and also named Arthur Association of Commerce Outstanding Farmer in 1991. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, treasurer for 30 years, Sunday school teacher and trustee. He was a board member of the Coles-Moultrie Electrical Co-op, a member of Coles County Farm Bureau, served on the North Oak Township Board, and helped found Cooks Mills Fire Department. He married Clara Rose Young on Aug. 3, 1957. He married Clara Rose Young on Aug. 3, 1957.
Surviving are his wife; son, John Haney of Humboldt; daughters, Dee Stanford and husband Gerald of Mattoon and their children, James, Kim and Mark; Sharon Martz and husband Don of Quincy and their children, Greg and Sarah; three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Kretzinger
CHESTNUT -- Jo-Ann Kretzinger, 71, of Chestnut died 5:20 p.m. Friday (May 16, 2003) in her home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, with the Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut. Memorials: Scleroderma Foundation and Hospice Care of Illinois.
Mrs. Kretzinger was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Lincoln, the daughter of Harold N. and Annaly S. Waschle Gambrel. She was a member of the Christian faith. She married Dwaine Kretzinger on Sept. 21, 1951, in Lincoln.
Mrs. Kretzinger worked for the Lincoln Courier, SS Kresske, St. Clara's Hospital, Frank's Food Fair, General Telephone in Bloomington, Bank of Chestnut, Chestnut Elevator, Chestnut Volunteer Fire Department and Agro Marketing in Latham. She was also an EMT/midwife, a Mary Kay beauty consultant and an independent bookkeeper since 1950.
She became owner of the family business, the Ace Novelty Toy Store, and was co-owner of the Waynesville Super Way. She helped her husband at the DJ Concession business and served as treasurer for the Illinois Country Music Association. Mrs. Kretzinger lived and worked in Chestnut and was the supervisor for the Aetna Township for 20 years and participated as a vendor at the State Farm Play Days.
Mrs. Kretzinger organized the Waynesville Recreational Center and Weight Watchers Club. She was a member and served as judge for the Illinois' State Stock Horse Association. She was also a member of the Pinto Horse International Association, the Paint Horse Association from 1971 to 2003 and the Railsplitter Association. Mrs. Kretzinger was a girl scout leader from 1963 to 1971 and was also a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, growing cacti and, most of all, her family. She married Dwaine Wheeler K retzinger.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Leigh Ann Rohrschneider of Bloomington; Lynn Marie (Michael) Hanamura of Folsom, Calif.; Lori Mae Kretzinger of Springfield; grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Ryan Matthew (Teresa) McLane of Fort Riley, Kan.; Amy Lynne Rohrschneider of Normal; great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Taylor, River, Wheeler, Shaelyn, Ezri, Taylor H. and James; stepgrandchildren, Darryl (Colleen) Hanamura of Roseville, Calif.; Bruce Hanamura of Alhambra, Calif.; Danielle (Joe) Hanamura Stempeck of Reno, Nev.; cousins, Donna (Dick) Pokorski of Lincoln; Jim Smith of Taylorville; godmother, Mary Sinko of Minnesota; best friend, Lela Bradley of Lincoln.

MOWEAQUA -- M. Paul "Pops" Warnick, 88, of Moweaqua died Saturday (May 17, 2003) in Moweaqua Nursing & Retirement Center.

Pops was born July 9, 1914, in Decatur, the son of Oscar B. and Ida Belle Hertel. He was a member of First Christian Church, Moweaqua. He was a retired farmer and was retired from Sattley's. He married Dorothy Purviance on Dec. 23, 1933, in Niantic.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Don and wife Pat of Decatur; Jim of St. Mary's, Ga.; grandchildren, Debbie Potsick and husband Mike of Moweaqua; Don Warnick and wife Christy of Lovington; Camille Schaub and husband Rusty of Mount Zion; Allyson Forbes of Quincy, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Aaron Potsick and wife Janet and Seth Potsick, all of Moweaqua; Courtney Schaub, Brittney Schaub and Noah Schaub, all of Mount Zion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Elmer.
