ATWOOD -- Ethel Ruth Meyer, 77, Atwood, homemaker, died Tuesday (March 25, 2003).

CLINTON -- Dale D. Taylor, 56, Clinton, died Thursday (March 27, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.

Thompson

ARTHUR -- Margaret Helen Brown Thompson, 89, of Arthur, formerly of Arcola, died 7:12 a.m. Wednesday (March 26, 2003) in The Arthur Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Catholic Church, Arcola, with Father Allen Kemme officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with 3 p.m. vigil service. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Memorials: The Arthur Home or American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 16, 1914, in Weldon, the daughter of John and Henrietta Pearl Brown. Margaret was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Arcola, and St. John's Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Douglas County Democratic Committee. She married Roy Thompson on May 12, 1933, in Wapella. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1980.

Surviving are her sons, Francis Thompson of Mattoon; Marvin Thompson of Arcola; Tony Thompson of Arthur; daughters, Delores Adkisson and Mary Ann Smith, both of Tuscola; Kaye Dick of Hammond; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Brown of Clinton; sisters, Lorean Pearl of Arthur; Mary Olson and Leota Howell, both of Farmer City.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Thompson in 2001, two sisters, three brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Vincent

MOUNT AUBURN -- J. Warren Vincent, 73, Mount Auburn, farmer, died Thursday (March 27, 2003).

Memorial services: 6 p.m. Sunday, McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, Mount Auburn Cemetery, with military rites. Memorials: Kids are Kids Inc.

Korean War Army veteran. Member: VFW and American Legion. Survivors: wife, Janice; sons, George and Dan Vincent, both of Mount Auburn; Glenn Vincent, Taylorville; daughters, JoEllen Mahr and Jane Mateer, both of Mount Auburn; nine grandchildren; brothers, Fred Vincent, Mount Auburn; Frank Vincent, Stonington; sisters, Eunice White, Taylorville; Mary Elliott, Mount Auburn; Dorothy Moffett, Stonington; Nola Lefever, Palmer. Preceded by: parents and three brothers.

Breazeale

DECATUR -- Scott Dale Breazeale, 44, of Decatur died 1:24 p.m. Thursday (March 27, 2003).

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Breazeale was born Feb. 19, 1959, in Mount Vernon, the son of William and Louise Osborne Breazeale. He was a truck driver for BBK Trucking.

Surviving are his parents of Decatur; stepson, Robert Murray of Rantoul; brother, Tom Breazeale and wife Joyce of Forsyth; sisters, Velma Smith and husband Bill of Niantic; Theresa Hagood and husband Steven of Niantic; Tammy Johnston and husband Robert of Nashville, Tenn.; Raymond (Lindly) Durbin of Decatur; nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

DECATUR -- Florence Irene Compton, 80, Decatur, died Friday (March 28, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

DECATUR -- Nettie Lee Crittendon, 88, Culver City, Calif., formerly of Decatur, died March 21, 2003. Arrangements incomplete: Walker Funeral Service & Chapel.

DECATUR -- Mildred Jones Dame, 89, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died Feb. 26, 2003.

Krueger

DECATUR -- Janet Straza Krueger, 51, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Decatur, died March 11, 2003, after a brief illness.

At Janet's request, no services are scheduled. Memorial donations may be made in Janet's name to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238, or to Ascension Lutheran Church, 800 McIntosh Rd., Sarasota, FL 34232.

Janet was born Oct. 2, 1951, in Decatur. She graduated from MacArthur High School. She moved to Sarasota from Milwaukee, Wis., in 1995 with her two sons. Janet was a homemaker and skin care specialist. She enjoyed her profession, but always felt her most important job in life was providing love and guidance for her sons.

Surviving are her sons, Steven and Matthew, both of Sarasota; sisters, Susan Greenwell and Nancy Clapp, both of Sarasota; brother, James Straza of Fort Myers, Fla.

The family would like to thank Pastor Keith Kruck who gave Janet peace when she needed it most and the hospice for their knowledge, sensitivity and support during her illness.

Janet wanted her friends and family to remember her with fond memories and to be happy that she was going home to be with her Savior.

Paczak

DECATUR -- Ruth Paczak, 88, of Morton, formerly of Decatur, died 7:25 a.m. Friday (March 28, 2003) in OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Do
n Wolford officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, with rosary service following, and 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: American Diabetes. Association.

Mrs. Paczak was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Mattoon, to Clark Morris and Belle Weaver Andrews Sexson. She was the first female bookkeeper for A.E. Staley Credit Union in Decatur, where she worked for 15 years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for 15 years at two car dealerships in Decatur. Mrs. Paczak was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a lifetime member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer for nine years at St. Patrick Grade School cafeteria. She married Michael Paczak on May 13, 1939, in Ch
icago. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2001.

Surviving are her daughter, Marianne (Donald) Brubaker of Morton; grandchildren, Kimberly (Alan) Pearson and Tim Martin, both of Morton; Scott (Dana) Martin of Livonia, Mich.; great-grandchildren, Megan McKeighan; Ryan McKeighan; Dana Pearson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Pujol

MACON -- Ernice M. Pujol, 68, of LaPlata, Mo., formerly of Macon, died Thursday (March 27, 2003) in Boone Hospital, Columbia, Mo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Ater-Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon, with visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests casual attire. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Memorials: American Diabetes. Association.

Mrs. Pujol was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Chickasha, Okla., the daughter of Ernest and Dolly Walker Collier. She was a homemaker. She loved quilting, the outdoors, gardening and flowers. She married Robert E. Pujol on Sept. 1, 1952.

Surviving are her husband of LaPlatta, Mo.; mother, Dolly Collier of Macon; daughters, Marcia L. Wharton and husband Ronald E. of Macon; Janice A. Broughton and husband Michael of Decatur; brothers, Charles Collier and wife Joyce of Harristown; Bill Collier and wife Wanda of Orange City, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris Wharton and Dawn Wharton, both of Macon; Jacob Hoots of Chicago; Phillip Hoots of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Toca

DECATUR -- Kenneth R. Toca, 62, of Decatur died 9 p.m. Wednesday (March 26, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Visitation was Friday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: American Cancer Society, Cancer Care or First Church of the Nazarene.

Kenneth was born June 6, 1940, in Taylorville, the son of Kenneth Stephens and Ethel M. Harrison Toca. Kenneth worked at A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. as a supervisor and boiler operator, where he retired in 1993. He then worked at Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. until 2001. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He married Janice Doore on Oct. 18, 1959.

Surviving are his wife; mother of Decatur; daughter, Sherilynn M. and Jim Shelton of North Canton, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Jack L. Toca Sr. of Decatur; Duane and Sharon Roe of Poteau, Okla.; Glen and Treva Stephens of Phoenix, Ariz.; Tanya and Phil Schneider of Bozeman, Mont.; Dorothy and Fred Durbin of Taylorville; Delores and Rolland Riddle of Granite City; grandson, Joshua A. Shelton, North Canton; granddaughter, Lyndsey M. Shelton,
North Canton; many special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Gizmo.

He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Suzanne M. Toca; son, Thomas E. Toca; sister, Delores Durbin; and brothers, Kerry Roe and Paul Toca.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Ben Esparaz and his staff and the nurses on the seventh floor at St. Mary's Hospital for their special care and compassion.
