Tefft
DECATUR -- Maxine Belle Tefft, 85, of Decatur died 3:28 p.m. Thursday (March 20, 2003) in Lincoln Manor North.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Miss Tefft was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Decatur, the daughter of James R. and Goldie Irene Phillips Tefft. She worked at Armour Rath and Borg-Warner Corp. She was a member of Central Christian Church and ABWA Soya Chapter. She loved the Cubs, Illini and bowling. She was known and loved by many, many friends and relatives.
Surviving is her sister, Dorothy Irene Tefft, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Malcom J. Stough.
The family of Miss Tefft would like to thank Dr. Velasco and Dr. Goetter for their care and concern, and a special thanks to Lincoln Manor North personnel for their wonderful, loving concern and care.
Tertocha
DECATUR -- W. Dean Tertocha, 77, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away March 10, 2003, in the Tucson Heart Hospital.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard.
Mr. Tertocha was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Decatur, the son of Harry and Augusta Schlesier Tertocha. He served in the armed forces during World War II in a tour of Japan. He was decorated and cited with a Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from the Department of the Navy as a bookkeeper.
Surviving are two nieces, three nephews and close friend and caregiver, Melvin Young of Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

SULLIVAN -- Ferne Allen, 92, of Sullivan died 11:15 p.m. Thursday (March 20, 2003) in her residence.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in French Cemetery, Allenville. There will be a private family visitation. McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Moultrie County Senior Citizens Center.
Ferne was born in Moultrie County, the daughter of Claude and Georgia Hunter Lane. She married Johnie G. Allen on Sept. 29, 1929, in Windsor. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1985.
Surviving are her son, Carl L. Allen and wife Betty of Sullivan; daughter, Ruth Allen of Sullivan; sisters, Mabel Kirkwood of Sullivan; Nettie Batman of Sullivan; grandchildren, Connie and husband Bob Eskew of Bethany; Sheryl Miller of Buffalo; Linda Swango of Sullivan; Carl Allen Jr. of Champaign; Ron Allen of Sullivan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
