North

TAYLORVILLE -- Ronald D. North, 49, of Taylorville died 7 a.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2003) in his home.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Ohlman Cemetery. Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. North was born Sept. 10, 1953, in Deland, Fla., the son of Leonard and Barbara Simpson North. He was a millwright and a member of Southern Baptist Church, St. Louis, Mo. He served in the military. He married Celinda "Suzi" Rawlings on Oct. 2, 1986, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Stacey North of Decatur; mother, Barbara North of Taylorville; grandchildren, Lottie North and Joey Jones Jr.; paternal grandmother, Velva North of Camdenton, Mo.; brother, Steve and wife Debbie North of Decatur; aunt, Pat and husband Carl Morgan; uncles, Dennis North; Curt and wife Judy Simpson; Phil and wife Bev Simpson; nieces, Ashley and Kristina.

He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandmother and maternal grandparents.

Quinn

MONTICELLO -- Lenore M. Quinn, 98, of Monticello passed away 9:25 p.m. Wednesday (March 12, 2003) in the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, with the Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Maroa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home.

Lenore was born July 9, 1904, southeast of Maroa, the oldest daughter of George Hosea and Iva Bowden Malone. She attended Belle Prairie School and graduated from Argenta High School in 1922. She taught school one year at Harmony country school near Maroa and six years at Maroa Grade School. She married Adolph Barner in 1929 and moved to Cudahy, Wis. Mr. Barner died in May 1980 in Decatur. She married Cecil Quinn in 1987 and moved to Carthage, Mo. Mr. Quinn died in 1990, and Lenore moved to Monticello in 1991, where she resided since.

She is survived by her brother, Stanton Malone of Maroa; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Barner; brothers, George Malone; Leo, Paul and William Malone; sisters, Eloise Malone and Mary Kathleen Malone Ashby.

Lenore was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, crafts and music.

Keck

LOUISVILLE -- Josephine Keck, 81, Louisville, died Thursday (March 13, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Neal Funeral Home, Louisville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Burial: Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Memorials: donor's choice.

Roberts

TOWER HILL -- Walter Nicklos Roberts, 54, of Tower Hill, formerly of Champaign, died 2:08 p.m. Wednesday (March 12, 2003) in Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Robinson Creek Cemetery, Shelbyville, with military rites by Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.

Mr. Roberts was born March 21, 1948, in Champaign, the son of John Walter and Beatrice Eilene Williams Roberts. He was a diesel mechanic for Foremost Truck & Trailer Specialist Inc. in Macon. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Vietname War. He attended First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. He married Arlene K. Lape Davis on Oct. 20, 2001.

Surviving are his wife; son, John Paul "J.P." Roberts and wife Peggy of Portland, Ore.; parents of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; stepchildren, Todd Davis and wife Gia of Brownsburg, Ind.; Thad Davis and wife Paula of Stonington; Tadd Davis and wife Char and Brad Davis and wife Kim, all of Shelbyville; brothers, Donald Dale Roberts and Edward Jay Roberts and wife Terry, all of Champaign; sister, Sue Millas and husband Joe of Palm Beach Garden; stepgrandchildren, Heidi, Courtney, Brett, Meagon, Casey, Brittany, Dylan, Taylor J., Taylor L., Corrie, Breanna and Kaylee; great-stepgrandchildren, Ty and Cole.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Jo Roberts in infancy, and sister-in-law, Kathy Roberts.

We didn't know you very long, but we thanked God for you every day for the love you showed our mother and your grandchildren.

Solheim

CHARLESTON -- Dorothy "Suzi" Stites Solheim, 87, Charleston, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003).

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Adams Funeral Chapel, Charleston. Visitation: two hours before services. Burial: Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston. Memorials: Alzheimer's Association or Homeward Bound Animal Shelter, Decatur.

Starwalt

LERNA -- Raymond Gene Starwalt, 67, Lerna, millwright, died Thursday (March 13, 2003).

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Janesville Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon. Memorials: to the family.

Tilford

MATTOON -- Kenneth Wayne Tilford, 72, Mattoon, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003).

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Central Community Church, Mattoon. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon. Burial: Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, with military rites. Memorials: to the family.

Wilham

MOUNT PULASKI -- Elsie Wilham, 85, Mount Pulaski, retired nurse's aide, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003).

Graveside services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Mount Pulaski Cemetery. No visitation. Arrangements by: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski. Memorials: Mount Pulaski EMS.

Cheviron

DECATUR -- Rose Mary Cheviron, 88, Decatur, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003).

Funeral Mass: 2 p.m. Saturday, St. Thomas Catholic Church. Visitation: four hours before services in the church. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials: Catholic Charities or Make a Wish Foundation.

Emas

DECATUR -- Doris A. Emas, 76, of Appleton, Wis., formerly of Decatur, passed away Feb. 17, 2003, in her home.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials: St. James Catholic Church or Children's Museum.

Doris was born on July 23, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Bertha Kaeller. She was a buyer for Van Law Carol's for many years. She married William "Bill" Emas on Sept. 29, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death April 12, 2002. They lived in Decatur and St. Louis. Doris moved to Appleton in 2002.

Surviving are her daughters, Minda (Jack) Harris of The Woodlands, Texas; Jill (Rick) David of Chicago; Ellen (David) Wright of Kaukauna, Wis.; grandchildren, Kyle (Chasidy) Arkell of Appleton; Alex and Abbey Wright, both of Kaukauna; Dane and Tate Harris, both of The Woodlands; Allie and Carson Davis, both of Chicago; great-grandchild, Blair Arkell of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Dorothy Schloessman.

Doris was known for her sharp wit and quick smile. She maintained her sense of humor while raising three daughters who were and do remain perfect only in her eyes. They will remember and forever hold in their hearts her unconditional love.

Jones

MACON -- Helen Lorene "Babe" Jones, 95, of Macon died 9:32 a.m. Friday (March 14, 2003) in Eastern Star Home, Macon.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Crawford Camp Ground Cemetery, Ridgeway, with the Rev. Wade Halva officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Memorials: Eastern Star Home, Macon.

Helen was born July 21, 1907, in Ridgeway, the daughter of George Washington and Sarah Elizabeth Duty Bruce. She was a retired accountant. She was a member of Ridgeway Presbyterian Church and Ridgeway Chapter 714 Order of the Eastern Star. She married Leslie M. Jones on Aug. 7, 1926. He preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Shirley Ann Jones of New York, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Don E. Jones.

Kitson

DECATUR -- Juanita Elizabeth Kitson, 84, Decatur, died Friday (March 14, 2003). Arrangements incomplete: Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.

Linn

DECATUR -- Robert E. "Bob" Linn, 88, Decatur, retired KPMG Peat Marwick LLP partner, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003).

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Westminster Presbyterian Church. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial: Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: Westminster Presbyterian Church or Millikin University, Alumni and Development.
