Zimbelman
TAYLORVILLE -- Jack K. Zimbelman, 87, of Taylorville died 7:15 p.m. Saturday (March 8, 2003) in the Taylorville Care Center.
Combined graveside services for Jack and June will be 1 p.m. March 22, 2003, in Edinburg Cemetery
with the Rev. Craig Scott officiating. Sutton Memorial Homes of Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
Jack was born Dec. 15, 1915, in West Frankfort, to John and Anna Rohland Zimbelman. He worked as a coal miner for 43 years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of Blueville Lodge A & M in Edinburg, a 50-year member of the Shriners in Springfield, belonged to the Shrine Club in Christian County and was a member of the Moose Club and Order of the Eastern Star. He married June Davis on Feb. 3, 1945, in Taylorville. She preceded him in death Dec. 20, 2001.
Surviving are his daughter, Alyse and husband Randall Helton of Taylorville; son, Kenneth Zimbelman of Arizona; grandchildren, Jack Kenneth Zimbelman of Arizona; Serena Zimbelman of California; Lisa and husband Talon Burton of Georgetown; Eric and wife Shelly Helton, Taylorville; Troy Helton of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Heather Magness of Georgetown; Drake, Erica and Kade Helton of Taylorville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter, Judy.
Barbee
DECATUR -- Ester Mae Barbee, 67, Chicago, died March 1, 2003.
Services were Friday in Smith & Thomas Funeral Home, Chicago. Burial was in Mount Glenwood-West Cemetery, Willow Springs.
Member: Miracle Temple Church. Survivors: sons, Willie Barbee and Emanuel Barbee, both of Chicago; sister, Mary Childs, Chicago; brothers, James David Barbee and Terry Reed, both of Decatur; Paul Walker, Chicago; eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren. Preceded by: one son.
Beyers
DECATUR -- Anna F. Beyers, 96, of Decatur died Monday (March 10, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic Church of Decatur, with the Rev. Donald Wolford visitation. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Arrangements are by J.J. Moran and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials: St. John's Hospice or St. Mary's Hospital.
Anna was born on Dec. 3, 1906, in Christian County, the daughter of Patrick and Molly Keating Fogerty. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Decatur. She married Raymond Beyers in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Surviving are her stepdaughters, June Stone (Bernard) and Ruth Mickler (Albert); grandchildren, Dan Beyers (Valeria), Steve Beyers (Carolyn), Chris Beyers (Michelle), Robert Beyers (Karen), Carol Glover, Jeannie Hackney, Mary Ellen Ashley, Thomas Wenskunas (Shirley), Nancy Oakes, Patricia Parkin (John), Mike Werve, Larry Werve, Ron Werve, Linda Sharp; good friend, Art and family of Decatur; several other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ronnie Beyers; stepdaughter, Frances Jean Wenskunas; two sisters.
Brandon
ARGENTA -- Ruby L. Brandon, 74, of Argenta died 2 a.m. Sunday (March 9, 2003) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, with the Rev. Dale Leischner officiating. A private visitation will be Wednesday in Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta. Memorials: Ruby L. Brandon Memorial Fund.
Ruby was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Macon County, Tenn., the daughter of Richard Morgan and Bertha Dyer. She married Earl C. Brandon on June 18, 1949, in Monroe County, Ky. He passed away Feb. 2, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Randy (Johnetta) Brandon of Humble, Texas; Sue Grider (Steve Hudson) of Oakley; Alex (Amy) Brandon of Oreana; Gale (Greg) Barnes of Argenta; Bob (Teresa) Brandon of Alvarado, Texas; stepsons, Jim (Pam) Brandon of Lugoff, S.C.; Joe (Janice) Brandon of Memphis, Tenn.; George (Donna) Brandon of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Lewis Morgan of Decatur; sisters, Helen Comer of Bowling Green, Ky.; Dorothy Ford of Tompkinsville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, L.S. Morgan and John Morgan; sisters, Jewell Comer and Moline Kitchens.

DECATUR -- Harold L. Butler, 75, Decatur, died Sunday (March 9, 2003).
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, South Shores United Methodist Church. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Homes, with 8 p.m. Masonic services, and a half hour before services in the church. Burial: Cress Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorials: South Shores United Methodist Church, Firefighters Station 2 or Shriner's Hospitals for Children in St. Louis.
Coombe
MACON -- Richard L. Coombe, 65, of Macon died 11:40 p.m. Thursday (March 6, 2003) in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Macon Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Ater-Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Mr. Coombe was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Moweaqua, the son of Fred L. and Retha Moorehead Coombe. He formerly worked for McKeever Communications. He was a member of Macon Presbyterian Church, Macon Masonic Lodge and a volunteer for Rock Springs Environmental Center. He married Mary Lou Spencer Boggs on Nov. 21, 1974. She preceded him in death Sept. 8, 1999.
Surviving are his stepsons, Pastor Greg D. Boggs and wife Nancy of Deltona, Fla.; Mike L. Boggs and wife Brenda of Sanford, Fla.; half sisters, Jane A. Workman and husband Terry of Rantoul; Andrea K. Nincehelser and husband Dale of Florida; foster sister, Norma Putch and husband Lyle of Macon; four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; uncle and aunt, Earl and Myrtle Eckhardt.
Emas
DECATUR -- Doris A. Emas, 76, of Appleton, Wis., formerly of Decatur, passed away Feb. 17, 2003, in her home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Graceland/ Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials: St. James Catholic Church or Children's Museum.
Doris was born July 23, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Bertha Kaeller. She was a buyer at Van Law Carol's for many years. She married William "Bill" Emas on Sept. 29, 1944, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death April 12, 2002. They lived in Decatur and St. Louis. Doris moved to Appleton in 2002.
Surviving are her daughters, Minda (Jack) Harris of The Woodlands, Texas; Jill (Rick) Davis of Chicago; Ellen (David) Wright of Kaukauna, Wis.; grandchildren, Kyle (Chasidy) Arkell of Appleton; Alex and Abbey Wright, both of Kaukauna; Dane and Tate Harris, both of The Woodlands; Allie and Carson Davis, both of Chicago; great-grandchild, Blair Arkell of Appleton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Dorothy Schloessman.
Doris was known for her sharp wit and quick smile. She maintained her sense of humor while raising three daughters who were and do remain perfect only in her eyes. They will remember and forever hold in their hearts, her unconditional love.
Belden
DECATUR -- Arthur Mason "Doc" Belden, 83, Mendon, retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co., died March 5, 2003.
Services were Monday, Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon. Visitation was Sunday. Burial: Home Cemetery, Fowler. Memorials: North Adams Home or Moody Bible Institute.

Doolittle
MOUNT ZION -- Beryle C. Doolittle, 102, of Mount Zion died 3:25 p.m. Monday (March 10, 2003) in her residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mount Zion. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorials: St. John's Visiting Nurses Association.
Mrs. Doolittle was born Jan. 30, 1901, in Fairfield, the daughter of George Davidson and Ida Mae Harrison Davidson. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She married Leonard E. Doolittle on Feb. 20, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1968.
Surviving are her daughter, Ruth McKown and husband Roy of Mount Zion; grandchildren, David Booker, Dan Booker, John McKown, Carl McKown and Travis McKown; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Starrene Booker; two brothers; two sisters.
Piekutowski
DECATUR -- Pauline G. Piekutowski, 90, of Decatur died 5 a.m. Sunday (March 9, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa Building Fund.
Mrs. Piekutowski was born April 1, 1912, in Kenney, the daughter of Goldie and Katherine Irvin Chapman. She was a homemaker. She married Joseph Piekutowski on Sept. 1, 1950. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1998.
Surviving are her children, Charlotte Castor and husband Phillip of Noblesville, Ind.; Paul Bolin and wife Ellen of Decatur; Mary Jo Thacker and husband Richard of Decatur; grandchildren, Vicki Games, Susan Geshan, Michael Castor, Steven Castor, Sarah Castor, Steven Bolin, Tamara Matson, Richard Thacker Jr. and Emily Thacker; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
