LATHAM -- James Joseph Kelly, 89, of Latham died Sunday (Feb. 23, 2003).
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Niantic. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with a 4:30 p.m. vigil prayer service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis. Memorials: St. Ann's Catholic Church.
James was born March 14, 1913, in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Ann Rose McAvoy Kelly. James worked for many years as a salesman at Sherman Volkswagen and retired from Perry Thomas Lincoln Mercury. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Niantic and the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447. James served in the
Army Air Corps during World War II and was discharged as a first lieutenant in 1945. He married Valette A. Mooney at Chanute Field, Rantoul, on Feb. 7, 1942, and she preceded him in death March 6, 1998.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Beube of Decatur; sons, Robert Kelly (Elizabeth) of Elgin; James Kelly of Chicago; grandchildren, Lori Carroll of Peoria; Brian and Brad Beube, both of Decatur; Tom Kelly of Elgin; Kristin, Kimberly and Ryan Kelly, all of Florida; one great-grandson; sister, Mary Elizabeth Griffin of Morton Grove; one niece; two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Keith Smith, Dr. Kola and Dr. Kureishy and staff of the Heart and Lung Center, the entire staff of ManorCare Health Services and Decatur Memorial Hospital's fourth floor nurses and staff for the care they gave to Jim.

WARRENSBURG -- Mary Geneva Christerson, 63, of Warrensburg died 2 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 23, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials: BabyFold, Normal.
Mrs. Christerson was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Decatur, the daughter of Virgil and Cora Elder Baer. Mrs. Christerson was the administrative clerk for the village of Warrensburg for 31 years. She had also worked for A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. for 12 years. She was a member of Warrensburg United Methodist Church and the Illini Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Christerson of Warrensburg; son, John Christerson of Decatur; sisters, Joan Smith and husband Nick of Decatur; Virginia Baer of Pine, Ariz.; brother, Edgar Baer and wife Maryilynn of Decatur; special friend, Betty Underwood; one nephew; one niece; one great-nephew; one great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Esparaz and the nurses at Cancer Care Specialists. Mary will be missed very much by her family and her many friends.

MOUNT ZION -- Michael Duggan, 87, of Mount Zion died 12:40 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 22, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mount Zion. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mount Zion, with 8 p.m. vigil prayer service. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorials: Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Duggan was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Dalton City, the son of Stephen A. and Clara V. Moore Duggan. He was an A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. machinist for 45 years. He was a founding member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mount Zion, a member of Knights of Columbus, Mount Zion Fire Department volunteer, former Mount Zion law enforcement marshal, 1966 graduate of Millikin University, Boy Scout Master of Troop 43, Mount Zion, member of VFW Post 99 and instrumental in starting the safety committee at Staley. He was in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He married Lenora Alice Osborne on June 18, 1938. She preceded him in death June 22, 1996.
Surviving are his sons, Michael Duggan and wife Sandra of Greeley, Colo.; Dan Duggan and wife Barbara of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Kathleen Leitzell and husband Harry of Clarendon Hills; grandchildren, John Duggan and wife Patty of Honolulu, Hawaii; Robert Duggan of New Orleans, La.; Kevin and Brady, both of Greeley; Michael Duggan and Kristen Wright, both of St. Louis; Tara Leitzell of Clarendon Hills; Harry Leitzell III of Pittsburg, Pa.; great-grandson, Sean Michael Duggan of Honolulu; great-granddaughter, Sarah Kahealana Duggan of Honolulu.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, four sisters.

DECATUR -- Floyd Green Sr., 67, of Decatur went to rest with the Lord on Wednesday (Feb. 19, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be noon Wednesday in Main Street Church of God. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Green was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Boliver, Tenn., to the union of Gilbert and Annie B. Boyd Green. He formerly worked for Wagner Castings Co. until his retirement. He was a member of Good Hope Church of Brownsville, Tenn. He loved to fish, hunt and farm.
He leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories, his mother of St. Louis, Mo.; father, Gilbert (Maenel) Green of Brownsville; brothers, O.B. (Emma Mae) Green and Curtis (Minnie) Green, both of St. Louis; sisters, Essie (Q.T.) Austin of St. Louis; Pearline (Steve) Reeves of Florida; sons, James (Debbie) Green and Randall Green, both of Decatur; daughter, Burnette Green of Decatur; very special friend, Mabel Phillips of Brownsville; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, nephews, one grandson, one daughter-in-law and grandparents.
Floyd will be missed by all whose hearts he touched and family and friends. It's always so hard to say good-bye, but God was ready for you to join his heavenly clouds.
