Wickell
KENNEY -- Ethel Mae DeWolfe Wickell, 88, of Kenney, died 10:24 p.m. Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) in her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Kenney Christian Church with Robert Guy and Brandon Moore officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Memorials: Kenney Christian Church, Kenney Civic League or Kenney Heritage Association.
Mrs. Wickell was born May 8, 1914, in Assumption, the daughter of William R. DeWolfe and Marie Reber. She was affiliated with Kenney Christian Church. She married Wales Aughenbaugh on Sept. 1, 1937. He preceded her in death July 19, 1961. She then married Andrew Cutwright on Feb. 2, 1974. He preceded her in death June 7, 1986. She then married David Wickell on June 16, 1990. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1994.
Surviving are her daughters, Sandy (Randy) Molitoris of Kenney; Jan Aughenbaugh of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brian, Dustin and Nicole Molitoris, all of Kenney; four nieces; one nephew; brother, Ralph DeWolfe of Loveland, Colo.; sisters, Frances DeWolfe of Decatur; Elizabeth Shulke of Bonita Beach, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her son, Don Aughenbaugh; parents; and one brother, Warren DeWolfe.
Winter
EFFINGHAM -- Samuel Paul Winter, 82, of Effingham died 6:45 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) in the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham, with the Rev. Theodore Gall officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Kull Funeral Home, Altamont, and one hour before services
Wednesday in the church. Burial: Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham, with military rites. Memorials: St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund, the Lutheran Care Center or donor's choice.
Mr. Winter was born Dec. 27, 1920, in rural Fayette County, near Altamont, the son of Charles and Bertha Lorenz Winter. He was a professional truck driver and instructor with more than 4 million accident-free miles spanning a 45-year career. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham, and VFW Post 7676, Altamont, serving several years as senior vice-commander. He was a World War II
Army veteran with the 198th Regiment Anti-Air Craft Division, serving in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 1, 1946, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He married Gertrude Mildred Hoffmeister on April 21, 1946, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Altamont.
Surviving are his wife of Effingham; son, Howard Winter and wife Deb of Altamont; daughter, Patricia Milleville and husband Larry of Effingham; grandchildren, Brian Milleville and Sara Milleville, both of Effingham; Beth Winter of Bloomington; Carie Winter and Neil Winter, both of Altamont; sisters-in-law, Irene Esch and husband Harold of Effingham; Eleonore Winter, Altamont; five nieces; five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marilyn Winter; son-in-law, Marvin Wendling; brothers, Louis Winter and wife Lottie; John Winter and wife Gertrude; Arthur Winter; sisters, Ida Zimmerman and husband William; Julia Klitzing and husband Albert; and sister Irene Winter in infancy.

MOUNT ZION -- Opal Marie Allen-Merlo, 91, of Mount Zion died Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003).

Opal was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Decatur, the daughter of Alva and Maude Powell Scroggins. She was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church most of her life. She married Roland Allen in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1969. She then married Frank Merlo in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Surviving are her daughters, Sheila (Donald) Brunner of Oakley; Beverly Fink of Mount Zion; sister, Emogene Carroll of Decatur; son-in-law, Bruce (Jackie) Fink; niece, Evelyn of Chicago; cousin, Juanita (Kenneth) Hart of Springfield; special friends, Ron Smith, Bessie Grolla and Kurt (Lynette) Bricker; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Snow was born June 13, 1912, in Bethany, the daughter of Edd and Olive Sharp Cordray. She was a member of Divernon Methodist Church and a former member of Rebekah Lodge. She married Carl H. Snow on April 1, 1929, in Bethany. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1987.
Surviving are her son, Ryland Snow of Herscher; daughters, Olive Ann Foreman of Tuscola; Audrey G. Richardson of Divernon; sister, Pauline Moses of Arthur; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one son.

DECATUR -- Donald W. Wright, 68, of Decatur, died 9:55 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 16, 2003) in his home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes.
Donald was born Jan. 7, 1935, in Sullivan, the son of Leonard and Nina Bernice Baugher Wright. He most recently owned and operated Don's Kleen Rite, and prior to that he owned and operated Wright's Carpet Cleaning for many years. He enjoyed fishing. He married Wilma E. "Sally" Farrar on June 27, 1956. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Surviving are his sons, Donald M. Wright and wife Julia of Decatur; David "Chris" Wright of Decatur; Alan M. Wright and wife Wendy of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Danielle, Samantha, Justin, Jessica and Max Wright; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Mykaela and Damon Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
