TAYLORVILLE -- Mary Blessent Ladd, 77, of Taylorville died 9:40 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) in Gross Mont Hospital, San Diego, Calif.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Sutton Memorial Home, Taylorville, with the Rev. Francis Hudson officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Ponting Cemetery, Stonington.
Mrs. Ladd was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Taylorville, the daughter of Peter and Pauline Clario Blessent. She was a homemaker. She married Edward Ladd on April 1, 1950, in Hillsboro.
Surviving are her husband; sons, Michael and Toni Ladd of San Diego; Duane Ladd of Taylorville; brothers, Martin Blessent of Mattoon; Jim Blessent of Decatur; Maggio and wife Rene of Danville; Thomas Blessent of Taylorville; sister, Judy Moma and husband Laverne of Taylorville; grandchildren, Tamara Lewis and husband Robert of Santee, Calif.; Brenda and husband Staff Sgt. Shawn Johnson of Fort Benning, Ga., with Staff Sgt. Johnson currently serving in the
Army in Kuwait; Staff Sgt. Michelle Ladd of Spaulding, currently serving in the Illinois National Guard in Afghanistan; Julie Ladd of Taylorville; great-grandchildren, Jason Lewis and Dylan Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Blessent.

STRASBURG -- Lila Grace Storm, 76, of Strasburg died 8 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 2, 2003) in her home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Strasburg, with the Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, with 5 p.m. American Legion Auxiliary memorial services, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Strasburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Strasburg Veterans Memorial.
Mrs. Storm was born June 21, 1926, in Shelby County, the daughter of Rudolph Paul and Pearl Wilhemina Spannagel Kull. She was a graduate of Strasburg High School, Class of 1944, and Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. She was owner of Storm Insurance Agency, Strasburg, and director of Shelbyville Mutual Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, St. Paul's Ladies Aid, Strasburg American Legion Auxiliary Unit 289, Shelbyville VFW Auxiliary Unit 4829 and past director of 19th District American Legion Auxiliary. She married W.C. "Rip" Storm on July 14, 1945, in Strasburg. He preceded her in death March 4, 2000.
Surviving are her sons, Larry Storm and wife Jackie of Shelbyville; Dave Storm and wife Debby and Doug Storm and wife Jane, all of Effingham; Kurt Storm of Strasburg; daughters, Linda Oakley and husband Joe of Mattoon; Connie Avery and husband Minor of Lindenwood; Jill Layton and husband Steve of Toledo; Kathy Eckstein and husband Dr. William Eckstein of Strasburg; grandchildren, Bruce Storm of Tallahassee, Fla.; Diana Vonderheide of Arcola; Dawn Whitlock of Taylorville; Jamie Oakley of Mattoon; Adam and Derek Storm, both of Effingham; Philip Storm of Mount Vernon; Emily, Molly and Roxy Manhart, all of Strasburg; Josh and Hannah Layton, both of Toledo; stepgrandchildren, Bobbie Jo Eastin of Hindsboro; Ryan and Rachael Koester, both of Effingham; Chuck Layton of Toledo; Chad Daniels of Herrick; Rhonda Ator of Texas; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Lexi Vonderheide, both of Arcola; great-stepgrandchildren; Duncan and Sydney Eastin, both of Hindsboro; Shaine and Taylor Layton, both of Toledo; Corey, Brittany and Dylan Ator, all of Texas.

CLINTON -- M. Vivian McClain, 87, of Clinton died 9:25 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 1, 2003) in Crestview Healthcare Center, Clinton.

Mrs. McClain was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Brownstown, the daughter of David W. and Laura Alice Hawks Smyth. She was affiliated with the Church of God. She and her husband farmed in the Pana area for many years. She married Arthur Lee McClain on Sept. 19, 1933, in Effingham. He passed away March 22, 1971.
Surviving are her daughters, Helen M. Pavlak of Clinton; Nancy L. Boone of Pearsall, Texas; Rosemary E. Zuberi of Plymouth, Mich.; Susan P. Tidewell of Wagoner, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Carl D. McClain; grandson, James Patrick Pavlak; and two sisters.

DECATUR -- Paul Kermit "PK" Campbell, 78, of Decatur passed away 3:15 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 1, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with the Rev. B.G. Nevitt officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, is in charge of arrangements. Paul was born Feb. 28, 1924, in McLeansboro, the son of Chalon and Lucy Harrison Campbell. Paul was an
Army veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Borg-Warner Corp. with more than 40 years of service. He also sold real estate for Majors Realty for several years. In 1956, he was one of the founding 24 members of Glad Tidings Assembly of God and was still an active member upon his death. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading his Bible. Paul spent a lifetime professing his faith in Jesus Christ and leading those around him to the Lord by his words, his prayers and his life. He married Nora Nadine Miller on Nov. 10, 1948, in Marion. They lived together in holy matrimony for more than 54 years.
Surviving are his wife, Nadine; daughters, Patricia Tague and husband Ken of Mount Zion; Vickie Giger and husband Sam of Pottsboro, Texas; grandchildren, Sammy, Stevie and Sasha Giger and Ashley Tague; brothers, Herbert Campbell and wife Eugenia of Avon Park, Fla.; Donald Campbell and wife Betty of Lake Placid, Fla.; Evan Campbell and wife Pat of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

DECATUR -- Leland F. Stevens, 80, of Decatur died 10:05 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 2, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Stevens was born May 29, 1922, in Bement, the son of Nathan E. and Clella Clark Pryde Stevens. He worked for the Decatur public schools as a custodian and was president and business agent of his local union. He served in the
Army during World War II. He was in ordnance and stationed in New Caledonia. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Decatur Post 99. He married Betty Lou Mullins on Oct. 1, 1942, in New London, Mo.
Surviving are his wife; children, Thomas L. Stevens and wife Kay of Denver, Colo.; Patricia Ann Stevens Elliott and husband Larry of Bono, Ark.; James L. Stevens of Mount Zion and friend Dayna Gilman of Warrensburg; William L. Stevens of Decatur; grandchildren, James R. Stevens of Mount Zion; Aaron and Darcy Dees and Roy N. Stevens, all of Denver; Barton and Amy Elliot, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and Chris and Carrie Cook, both of Bono; great-grandchildren, Breana, Heather and Jeremy Elliott and Hannah and Elijah Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Stacy Ann Elliot.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

DECATUR -- David W. Meyerholz, 50, of Decatur died 2:33 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 2, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Meyerholz was born Feb. 10, 1952, in Macon County, the son of Henry S. and Betty Logan Meyerholz. He was a dedicated family man and former truck driver. He married Angela Robin Noll on May 29, 1976.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Amanda Robyn Meyerholz; Heidi Munea Greenwood and husband Chad; son, Phillip David Meyerholz; grandson, Zackary David Meyerholz; mother, Betty Standerfer; sister, Barbara Meyerholz.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
