DECATUR -- Arthur E. Doddek, 85, of Decatur died Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) in Decatur.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Wray Offerman officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery
with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
Arthur was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Oakley Township, the son of Adolph and Minnie Ki
mmiski Doddek. Mr. Doddek worked in shipping and receiving for Swain and Myers Restaurant Supply, and then as a rug cleaner for Gentry's Rug and Carpet Cleaning before retiring in 1989. Arthur proudly served our country in the
Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 99 and DAV Post 17. Arthur married Opal J.Satterlee- Schepper on Oct. 15, 1949, in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Carol (Robert) Gurber of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Richard (Neita) Doddek of Decatur; sisters, Ruth Gentry, Mary Ann Hahn and Mildred Doddek, all of Decatur; granddaughter, Cheryl Gruber of St. Louis, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Hale
DECATUR -- Charles N. "Charley" Hale, 84, of Decatur died 9:20 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. There will be no visitation. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Salvation

Charley was born Feb. 19, 1918, in St. Francis, Kan., the son of George W. and Mable Fuqua Hale. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1936 and was retired from Jan San Supply. He kept active following his retirement by driving a funeral coach for Decatur Ambulance and working as a small appliance repairman. He served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He married Edna Inman on July 29, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years; son, Charles N. Hale Jr., Ginny; sister, Marguerite Wood, Naples, Fla.; brothers, H. Lyle Hale, Forsyth; Eugene Hale, LaPuente, Calif.; grandchildren, Cara Hale, Champaign; Cory Hale, Manchester, Mo.; stepgrandson, Jame

MACON -- Mary F. Hinkle, 96, of Macon, formerly of Chicago, died Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) in Eastern Star Home, Macon.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Acacia Park Chapel, Chicago. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago. Arrangements by: Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Memorials: Eastern Star Home.
Mrs. Hinkle was born Aug. 23, 1906, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Adolghina Schmidt Gibis. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Water Tower Hotel and LaSalle Hotel in Chicago. She was a member of Claire Chapter 845 Order of the Eastern Star. She married Clarence Hinkle on Aug. 16, 1930, in Chicago. He preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1961.
Surviving are her niece, Pat and husband Ted Dolan; nephew, Don Henkle; great-nieces, Leslie Flattery and Susan Schultz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Joseph Gibis.

Rentfrow
DECATUR -- Patricia Ann Rentfrow, 62, of Decatur departed for her heavenly home 11:55 p.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2003) after a long battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Graceland/ Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to DMH Cancer Care Clinic.
Patricia was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Decatur. A graduate of Lakeview High School, Patricia worked 14 years for Borg-Warner Corp. and was a certified nurse's assistant with Decatur Memorial Hospital for 12 years.
Surviving are her sons, Donald K. Crutchfield Jr. of Decatur; Max D. Rentrow of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Cherie M. Crutchfield of Blue Mound; grandchildren, Heather and Jerrylee Houghland of Bloomfield, Iowa; very special friend, Vicki Kidd.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She will be sadly missed by her friends and neighbors.
Ruthrauff
DECATUR -- Preston Derry Ruthrauff, 83, of Decatur died 9:45 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery. Memorials: St. Paul's Lutheran Church or American Legion Post 105.
Mr. Ruthrauff was born April 12, 1919, in Decatur, the son of Preston Ruthrauff and Josephine Schaniel Ruthrauff. He retired from Mueller Co. as general foreman, Department 70, after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of American Legion Post 105, VFW Post 99, Diehard Cub Fan Club, and Mueller Retirees Club. He was an
Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He married Violet N. Kallbreier on June 16, 1946. She preceded him in death Sept. 25, 1999.
Surviving are his sons, Gary Ruthrauff and wife Dolly of Oreana; Jeff Ruthrauff and wife Diana of Decatur; daughter, Janet Hirst and husband Wayne of Decatur; grandsons, Anthony Ruthrauff and wife Angela of Decatur; Dylan Hibbard and wife Michele of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Brittany, Rachael, and Baylee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.

DECATUR -- Gerald Wayne Potter, 68, of Fairbury died 9:55 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 5, 2003) in OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, with the Rev. Irvin Kearns officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Cremation rites will follow services. Memorials: donor's choice.
Gerald was born March 31, 1934, in Bloomington, the son of Howard and Gladys Condor Potter. He was a member of Teamsters Local 179, Joliet. He married Patricia L. Lake on June 1, 1952, in Colfax.
Surviving are wife; sons, Gerald L. (Kathy) Potter of Decatur; Randy L. (Phyllis) Potter of Warren, Ind.; Michael E. (Lorri) Potter of Anchor; Jeffrey W. (Janis) Potter of Fairbury; sisters, Deloris Christianson of Bloomington; Melvina Butzirius of Marion, Texas; Ruth Ann Emery of Bloomington; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all.
