DECATUR -- John Patrick "Pat" Mains, 56, of Decatur died 7:04 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with 8 p.m. Masonic services by Stephen Decatur Lodge AF & AM. Mr. Mains was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Decatur, the son of H. Earl and Gladys Evans Mains. He attended Danville area schools, graduating from Danville Junior College and Millikin University, Decatur. Mr. Mains was a teacher at Muffley School for 32 years unt
il his retirement. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and camping. Mr. Mains was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Danville, and Olive Branch Masonic Lodge 38, Danville. He married Nancy K. Heck on June 19, 1971, in Galva.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years; son, John Allen Mains of Atlanta, Ga.; mother of Danville; brother, Michael (Sharon) Mains of Danville; nieces, Tina (David) Ammerman of Danville; Tonya Mains of Indianapolis; nephew, Travis (Debbie) Mains of Rossville.
Mr. Mains was preceded in death by his father.
The family would like to thank the ICU Staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Pat touched many lives, both young and old.

DECATUR -- Patricia Ann Rentfrow, 62, of Decatur departed for her heavenly home 11:55 p.m. Friday (Jan. 3, 2002) after a long battle with cancer.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to DMH Home Health & Hospice Services Cancer Care Clinic.
Patricia was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Decatur. A graduate of Lakeview High School, Patricia worked 14 years for Borg-Warner Corp. and was a certified nurse's assistant with Decatur Memorial Hospital for 12 years.
Surviving are her sons, Donald K. Crutchfield Jr. of Decatur; Max D. Rentrow of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Cherie M. Crutchfield of Blue Mound; grandchildren, Heather and Jerrylee Houghland of Bloomfield, Iowa; very special friend, Vicki Kidd.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She will be sadly missed by her friends and neighbors.

Margaret was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Champaign, the daughter of William and Nellie Redman LeCrone. She actively volunteered in the Bement community for many years and retired from the State Bank of Bement. Margaret was a member of Bement United Methodist Church. She married Barney Camden on Dec. 14, 1957, in Bement.
Surviving are her husband: son, Don (Pam) Camden of Urbandale, Iowa; daughter, Jodi (Carl) Sellmyer of Bloomington; brother, Mike (Susan) LeCrone of River Forest; sister, Linda (Bill) Henry of Monticello; grandchildren, Hannah, Jordan, Michael, Logan and Paige.

Mrs. Horn was born Mar. 18, 1916, in Piatt County, the daughter of Shirley and Margaret Bower Body. Dorothy was a University of Illinois graduate, an English teacher for Sullivan Township High School, the Sullivan Preschool music director for 20 years, a member of Sullivan First Christian Church and a board member of Titus Presbyterian Home. She married Leo L. Horn on June 4, 1941, in Bement. He preceded her in death June 22, 1994.
Surviving are her son, Chester A. Horn and his wife Marjorie of Sullivan; daughter, Jane Ann Buxton and her husband Stephen of Dallas, Texas; sister, Jeanette Parker of Monticello; brother, Charles Body of Bement; grandson, Zak Horn of Sullivan; granddaughters, Kelly Buxton of Dallas; Jill Buxton of Palo Alto, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

Mrs. Keal was born April 29, 1915, in Douglas County, the daughter
of John Samuel and Lydia Taylor Blevins. She began as a seamstress for Arcola Collegiate Cap & Gown and retired as assistant manager after 30 years. She was a member of and very active in Arcola United Methodist Church. She loved her family and church and enjoyed China painting. She married Kenneth Bolton on March 18, 1933, in Arcola. He preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1953. She later married Harry W. Keal on June 18, 1977, in Arcola. He preceded her in death July 25, 2002.
Surviving are her daughter, LaVonne "Bonnie" Conlin and husband David of Arthur; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Ruth Ann Allen and husband Jim of Bloomington, Ind.; Nancy Barenburg and husband Ernie of St. Joseph; stepson, Dean Keal and wife Cheryl of Darien; seven stepgrandchildren; four step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

LOVINGTON -- John Robert "Jay" Minor, 69, of Lovington passed away Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) in Midland Memorial Hospital, Midland, Texas.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Arrangements are by Pipkin Funeral Home, Midland.
Mr. Minor was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Lovington, Moultrie County, the son of Donald E. and Hillis Minor. He was raised and educated in Lovington. John served in the
Army during the
Korean War and received 10 or more service medals during his military career. He was a member of VFW, Loyal Order of Moose and Moose Legion. He was a Lutheran.
Surviving are his mother; special friends, Welda Bates of Midland; Ray Bates of Lobbock, Texas; sons, Eric Brown of Bel Air, Md., Tony Brown of Lovington; daughter Tina Stoval of Lockport; brothers, Jim Minor of Lovington; Bill Minor of Sullivan; Ed Minor
of Decatur; sisters, Margie Woods of Quincy; Juanita Schrook of Mattoon; Sara Key Brown of Lovington; two grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins; a host of friends.
Jay was preceded in death by his father and brother, Donnie Minor.
