Johnson
FORSYTH -- Virginia C. Johnson, 81, of Forsyth passed aw ay 3:20 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, with Pastor J. Martin Eckert officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Macon County Humane Society.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 21, 1921, in Chicago, the daughter of Donald and Lydia Brunner Copland. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital after serving as a licensed practical nurse for 23 years. She was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Virginia loved her grandbabies and put her efforts into her family. She married Roy H. Johnson on July 6, 1946, in Chicago.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Roy H.G. Johnson and wife Patricia of Blytheville, Ark.; Glen Jay G. Johnson and wife Ma rcia of Sugar Grove; daughter, Peggy
Ann. G. Johnson Purdue of Lafayette, Ind.; brothers, Donald C. Copland of Prospect Heights; Terry Copland of Tennessee; sisters, Annabell Stockman of Waukasha, Wis.; Diana Shaefer of Illinois; six grandchildren, John, Staci, Tamara, Benjamin, Donald and Christine; one great-granddaughter, Taren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Laurel Jean Lukoski.
Smith
DECATUR-- Thomas Milan Smith, 47, of Springfield, formerly of Decatur, died 1:48 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in New Life Worship Church, Springfield, with 10 a.m. prayer service. Pastor Dan Roseberry will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: St. John's Pediatrics Unit, Springfield.
Thomas was born April 8, 1955, in Decatur, to Clyde and Georgia McRae Smith. He was a sales agent for Forsyth Insurance Agency. He was a member of New Life Worship Church, an avid sports fan, referee for the YMCA, a Little League coach and youth leader and deacon of his church. He was a resident of Springfield since 1981. He married Vicki Miller on Aug. 22, 1975.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Tami (Joe) Hardwick of Springfield; sons, Tim, Andy and Trevor Smith, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Michel and Aaron Hardwick; brother, Ken (Janice) Smith of Vernon Hills; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ticknor
MOUNT ZION -- Arthur Ticknor, 92, of Mount Zion died 11:10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 30, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mount Zion, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ticknor was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Florida, Mo., the son of Arthur and Leah Pires Ticknor. He was a meat cutter for many years, formerly owning a grocery store in Jack
sonville. He also worked for 30 years for A.W. Cash Valve Corp. in Decatur. Following his retirement, he worked for Decatur Wilbert Vault Co. He was active with the AIW Union, having served as the first local president. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. He married Katherine H. Koehler on Oct. 21, 1932.
Surviving are his wife; son, Robert L. Ticknor and wife Wilma of Decatur; daughter, Delores "Dee" Ticknor-Snapp of Mount Zion; grandchildren, Chris Cullen and husband Don of Riverton; Robert A. Ticknor of Decatur; Sheri Blickhan and husband Bill of Monticello; Sue Seibring and husband Steve of Normal; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

DECATUR -- Nathaniel Edwin Webb, 12 months, of Decatur passed away 4:25 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) in Decatur Memorial Hospital emergency room.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the mausoleum following the committal. Memorials should be directed to assist the family.
Nate was born Jan. 9, 2002, in Decatur, the son of Angela K. Webb and Bobby Holmes.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Louis Catholic Church, Nokomis, with Father Pat Jakel officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home, Nokomis. Burial will be in St. Barbara s Cemetery, Witt.
Mrs. Hoehn was born April 16, 1900, in Cleveland, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew Rushford and Eugenie Marine Rushford. She was a farm wife and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Alter Society. She married Alvin L. Hoehn on Nov. 11, 1922, in Nokomis. He preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1990.
Surviving are her children, Eugenia (Arthur) Beasley of Owensboro, Mo.; Mildred (Bryon) Busby of Pawnee; Josephine Porter of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, John, George, William, Andrew, Joseph, Josephine, Jane, Jessie, Millie, Eugenia, Millicent, Margaret Rushford, Andrew Rankin, one infant.
