DECATUR -- Jon Branson Bright, 50, of Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Decatur, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003).
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North with visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials: Decatur Children's Museum.
Jon was born Jan. 9, 1953, in Fairfield, the son of Edward Merle and Julia L. Bright. He was a 1971 graduate of MacArthur High School. He attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a master's degree in civil engineering in 1976. In 1976, he was on one of the tall sailing ships that was part of the Bicentennial celebration in Washington, D.C. In 1966, at age 13, Jon received the Carneige Institute Medal for heroism and the Boy Scout Award for heroism. He received these as a result of pushing two men from railroad tracks as a train was approaching. He worked for Marathon Oil Co. as an environmental engineer,
traveling extensively overseas. Later, he transferred to the environmental engineering department in Oklahoma City. Jon married Renee Lefave in 1987 in Findlay, Ohio.
Surviving are his sons, Todd, Miles and William, all of Tulsa, Okla.; parents of Forsyth; brothers, Jim Bright and wife Kelly of Norman, Okla.; Paul Bright and wife Linda of Houston, Texas; sisters, Sara Ross and husband Blake of Pleasant Plains; Laura Moon and husband Joel of Broken Arrow, Okla.

DECATUR -- Suzanne David, 65, of Decatur died 1:29 p.m. Monday (Jan. 27, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: ALS Foundation or Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Suzanne was born April 11, 1937, in Decatur, the daughter of Kenneth and Lillian Klingbiel Bundy. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, GWRRA Chapter I and was employed as a bookkeeper for Atlas Travel for 29 years, retiring in 2002. She married Donald D. David on June 25, 1954, in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband, Don; daughters, Pamela Mann and husband Jim of Hammond; Janet Lotz and husband Michael of Marietta, Ga.; Susan Perini and husband Tony of Duluth, Ga.; mother of Decatur; sisters, Nancy Jacobs and husband Bob and Shirley Elam and husband Les, all of Decatur; brothers, Patrick Bundy and wife Jean of Beaver Creek, Ohio; Mike Bundy and wife Cretta of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandson, Dallas Mann; grandmother; grandfather and one uncle.

Vivian was born on Feb. 3, 1913, in South Bend, the daughter of William and Florence O'Malley Villardson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Bend. She was a graduate of New York School of Interior Design. She married Harlan F. Hogan in
1936. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna Dunnuck of Decatur; granddaughter, Pam Hartigan and husband Brian of Chicago; grandson, John Dunnuck and wife Fran of Naples, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Connor, John Hartigan and Kayla Dunnuck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Geneva Beehler and Grace Logan.

ARGENTA -- Jesse Wayne Manning, 18, of Argenta died 9:55 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) on Macon County Highway 25 in Oakley Township.

Jesse was born at home on Feb. 10, 1984, in Argenta, the son of Robert D. and Margaret "Peggy" Thrasher Manning. He was affiliated with Argenta Presbyterian Church. He graduated in 2002 from Argenta-Oreana High School. He made the 2A State football team h
is senior year, threw discus and shot put in track and wrestled in IKWF and two years in high school. His musical interests included playing drums, guitar, piano and other instruments, and he was a drummer for a local band. He was currently a freshman at Richland Community College and member of YMCA.
Surviving are his parents of Argenta; sister, Lori Manning of New Jersey; brothers, Danny D. (Lisa) Manning and Phillip Manning, all of Argenta; grandparents, Robert and Veronica Thrasher of Corona, Calif.; aunts and uncles, Richard and Shirley Wallace of Argenta; Max and Susie Krutsinger of Macon; Dan and Sally Manning of Decatur; David and Diana Manning of Argenta; Jane Tipton of Decatur; Freddie Ann and Doyle Green and Kim Stoter, all of California; Ken and Sherry Thrasher of Virginia; Phillip Thrasher of Colorado; Steve and Carol Thrasher of California; many special cousins, several great-aunts and great-uncles and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Maxine Manning.
