Sullivan
SULLIVAN -- E. Vivian Sullivan, 87, of Sullivan died 1 a.m. Thursday (June 6, 2002) in her home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev. Dr. David Leslie officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials: Elizabeth Titus Memorial Library, First Christian Church, Sullivan, or Lincoln Land Hospice.
Mrs. Sullivan was born April 8, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Ill., the daughter of Morton Calloway and Ada Mae Hayes Scheretz. She was a member of First Christian Church, Naomic Circle at First Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Crystal Chapter 39, Sullivan. She married Homer E. Sullivan on Aug. 31, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1995.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathy Thomas and husband Jim of Sullivan; Sharon Wiley and husband Jim of Bloomington; brother, Robert Scheretz of Rockford; sister, Gaynelle Jacobs of Herrin; grandchildren, Nicole Atchison of Sullivan; Michael Thomas of Woodstock; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Williams
LINCOLN -- Hallie J. Williams, 71, Sherman, formerly of Lincoln, retired from St. John's Hospital, Springfield, died Thursday (June 6, 2002).

HARRISTOWN -- Gregory B. "Greg" Bublitz, 51, Harristown, Caterpillar Inc. employee, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2002).

Echols
DECATUR -- Beulah Echols, lovingly called "Grandmother" by many who knew and loved her, 100, went home to live with her lord and savior Monday (Oct. 14, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be noon Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church South with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Echols was born June 28, 1902, in Senatobia, Miss. She moved to Decatur in 1929. Shortly after arriving, she joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. As a member of the church, she served as a deaconess and a member of the senior choir. She was also a member of Golden Age Singers. She was married to Floyd Echols in Cold Water, Miss. He is deceased. From this union, they were blessed with six children.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her son, Nathaniel Echols of Decatur; daughters, Mary Miller and Charlotte Harris, both of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her daughters, Gloria Dean Echols and Earnestine King. Her son, James Echols, joined her in death on Oct. 15, 2002.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Reverend and Sister C.D. Staurt and the Antioch Baptist Church family, Dr. D. Patel, Aspen Ridge staff and the staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital. A special thanks goes to all the friends who made her life so long and fruitful.
Echols
DECATUR -- James Echols, 69, fondly known as "Jim," departed life Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2002) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be noon Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church South with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
James was born June 19, 1933, in Decatur. He graduated from Decatur High School. He served in the
Army during the
Korean War. He received an honorable discharge after serving his country. He was a dedicated member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
He was loved by all and leaves to cherish fond memories, his brother, Nathaniel Echols of Decatur; sisters, Mary Miller and Charlotte Harris, both of Decatur; many nieces, nephews and friends; and special friend, Jackie King.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Echols; father, Floyd Echols; and sisters, Gloria Dean Echols and Earnest King.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Reverend and Sister C.D. Staurt and the Antioch Baptist Church family, Dr. D. Patel, the staff at Aspen Ridge, the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and his "special" nurses, who cared for him so lovingly during his illness.

DECATUR -- Floyd J. Rogers, 92, Decatur, Archer Daniels Midland Co. employee, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2002).

Brewer
DECATUR -- Clifford Lyle Brewer, 90, of Decatur died 12:50 a.m. Oct. 10, 2002, in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Brewer was born May 28, 1912, in Decatur, the son of Earley E. and Zealious Carder Brewer. He was a fireman and an engineer for the Wabash Railroad and the Norfolk and Western Railroad, spanning the four decades from the era of hand-fired coal locomotives to that of modern diesel electric locomotives. He married Gladys Mae Aldrich in 1939.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Dick Brewer of Acton, Mass.; Fred Brewer of Jermyn, Pa.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher and Heather; great-granddaughter, Jillian.
Hawthorne
DECATUR -- Dorothy Mae Ellison Hawthorne, 76, Decatur, died Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002).
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, People's Church of God. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before services, all in the church. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton. Arrangements by: Walker Funeral Service and Chapel.
Hosier
DECATUR -- Terry L. Hosier, 55, of Hurst, Texas, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, went home to be with the Lord Sunday (Oct. 13, 2002).
Services will be noon Wednesday in the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, Texas, with Dick Murphy and Dan Watkins officiating. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in DFW National Cemetery, Grand Prairie. Memorials: Terry L. Hosier Fund, Box 123437, Fort Worth, TX 76121-3437.
Terry was born Feb. 14, 1947, in Decatur, the son of the late Ferris and Dorothy Hosier. He was a veteran of the
Army. He married Patricia L. Watkins.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years; daughters, Jennifer and Sherry; son, David James; grandchild, Nathaniel Lee; siblings, Darrell Belleville, Darlene Hale, Donald Hosier, Gary Hosier and William Hosier.
He was devoted to his family and friends. He was a wonderful and giving person who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
