Reed

SULLIVAN -- Evalee Reed, 88, of Sullivan died 8:15 p.m. Monday (Feb. 4, 2002) in the Sullivan Health Care Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Fri day in McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev. Francis Farney officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials: donor's choice.

She was born Nov. 14, 1913, the daughter of Ira F. and Bessie Myrtle Anderson Reed. She was retired from the Illinois Masonic Home, Sullivan, and was a member of the First Apostolic Church, Sullivan.

Surviving are her sister, Opal Fultz of Sullivan,and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Claude and Noah Reed, and sister, Mary Peadro.

Everyone needs an aunt Bea, and she was ours. She was a great lady and will be truly missed.

Rickelman

MATTOON -- Mary Catherine Rickelman, 79, owner and operator, Creative Ceramics, died Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002).

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Immaculate Conception Church, Mattoon. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, Mattoon. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Mattoon. Memorials: American Cancer Society.

Rybolt

KENNEY -- Mona Rybolt, 84, of Kenney died Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002) in Crestview Nursing Center, Clinton.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Memorials: Kenney United Methodist Church or Kenney Fire Department.

Mona was born July 30, 1917, in Kenney, the daughter of Newton Meadows and Villa Spillman. She was a life member of Kenney United Methodist Church. She graduated from Illinois State University and taught for many years in the Kenney area. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and DAR. Mona married Theron Rybolt on March 18, 1938, in Kenney. He preceded her in death June 20, 1991.

Surviving are her children, Kathleen Willoughby and husband Paul of Cumming, Ga.; Phillip Rybolt and wife Ann of Morton; Donald Rybolt and wife Mary Kay of Pleasanton, Calif.; Kenneth Rybolt and wife Shawn of Kenney; brother, Lyle Meadows of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; cousin, Miriam Abbott of Clinton; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Smith

CASEY -- Ruth Mae Smith, 78, Casey, seamstress, died Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002).

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Markwell & Son Funeral Home, Casey. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Washington Street Cemetery, Casey. Memorials: Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey.

Steele

SULLIVAN -- Velva Steele, 94, of Sullivan died 1:30 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) in St. Mary's Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Dr. Rev. David Leslie officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials: Titus Memorial Presbyterian Home or the First Christian Church, Sullivan.

She was born Oct. 9, 1907, in Sullivan, the daughter of William Henry and Eva Maletha Drew. She was a registered nurse with Dr. Kendall's office in Sullivan, head nurse at Memorial Hospital, Mattoon, on the Med-Surg floor, charter member of the Mattoon Nurses Assoc., charter member of the Mo. Co. Nurses Assoc., member of the First Christian Church, CWF, Sullivan Art Club, Evening Women's Club charter member, Home Extension, Ada Circle of Christian Church. She married James C. Steele Nov. 21, 1930, in Vandalia. He preceded her in death May 2, 1983.

Surviving are her foster daughter, Rebecca Ann Doran, and grandson, Raymond J. Hunter, both of Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, one half-brother, one grandson, one half-sister and three baby boys.

Teeters

LINCOLN -- Pansy Leona Teeters, 91, Sherman, homemaker, died Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2002).

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Walnut Hill Cemetery, Williamsville. Memorials: Elkhart Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.

Weihe

GREENVILLE -- W. "Jack" Weihe, 80, Greenville, died Sunday (Feb. 3, 2002).

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, Webster Grove, Mo. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Young Funeral Home, Greenville, and one-and-a-half hours before services. Burial: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo., with full military honors. Memorials: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Bond County Hospice or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

Bailey

DECATUR - Jackson Evan Bailey and Jourdyn Hope Bailey, infant twins of Michael and Tammy Rotz Bailey of Decatur, died Sunday (March 31, 2002) in St. John's Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Harristown Cemetery. Arrangements by: Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Memorials: to the family.

Surviving are their parents; brother, Christian Bailey; grandparents, Dennis and Margaret Rotz of Forsyth; David and Sheila Bailey of Decatur; uncle, David Rotz of Maroa; aunt, Sharon Reynolds of Decatur; cousins, Bradley Rotz and Joey Rotz, both of Maroa; Maria Reynolds of Decatur.

They were preceded in death by their brother, Evan William Bailey.

Disney

DECATUR - Floyd Disney, 85, Champaign, formerly of Decatur, former Goldblatt's employee, died Friday (March 29, 2002).

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Owens Funeral Home, Champaign. Visitation: one hour before services. Burial: Graceland Cemetery.

Nicholls

DECATUR - Gerald F. Nicholls, 71, of Decatur died 5:17 p.m. Saturday (March 30, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society, DMH Home Health & Hospice Services or donor's choice.

Mr. Nicholls was born April 19, 1930, in Pontiac, Mich., the son of Franklin Merritt and Susannah Welwood Ludlow Nicholls. He retired after 22 years in the Air Force, serving in Korea and three tours in Vietnam. He retired from Mueller Co. after 22 years as an engineer. He married Marsada Elaine Dilbeck Nov. 30, 1952, in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years; son, Kevin Nicholls and wife Diana of Decatur; daughter, Karin Nicholls of Edinburg, Texas; sisters, Florence Oster of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; Gwen Dziesko of Sterling Heights, Mich.; Janet Coski and husband Edward of Cleveland, Ohio; grandsons, Dennis Nicholls and Stephen Nicholls, both of Decatur; great-granddaughter, Celeste Nicholls of Decatur; one great-granddaughter on the way; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Riggs

DECATUR - Lloyd James Riggs, 92, of Decatur died 7 a.m. Monday (April 1, 2002) in Imboden Creek Living Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Imboden Creek Living Center or American Parkinson's Disease Association.

Lloyd was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Bronson, Kan., the son of Ross A. and Mae Rolson Riggs. He was a mechanic at the Chevrolet dealership in Decatur under several ownerships, retiring from Fehrenbach Chevrolet April 16, 1973. He married Mabel Alice Cox June 1, 1932, in Springfield.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Raymond L. Riggs and wife Sara and James A. Riggs and wife Nancy, all of Louisville, Ky.; Lee Riggs and wife Nancy of Mount Zion; daughter, Dorothy Tish of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one great-granddaughter.

Thornton

DECATUR - Jonathon W. Thornton, 22, Decatur, died Friday (March 29, 2002).

Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial: Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Sunnyside Center or Autism Society of Illinois.
