DECATUR -- Edward Galloway, 67, of Decatur died 2:05 p.m. Monday (May 14, 2001) in his home.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery. Memorials: Holy Family Catholic Church.
Edward was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Springfield, the son of Ralph William and Clara Grace Williams Galloway. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was employed as a machinist for A.P. Performance Rebuilders, retiring in 1996. He married Marjorie Yunker Sept. 15, 1956, in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Gregory Galloway of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Gordon Galloway and wife Brenda of Decatur; Galen Galloway and wife Michele of Decatur; daughter, Gina Hjort and husband Tom of Decatur; grandchildren, Eric and Jessica Galloway of Decatur; Joshua and Sarah Hjort of Decatur; Ryan, Natalie and Jennifer Galloway of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Chunn
MOUNT ZION -- Kennie B. Chunn, 60, Mount Zion, sales representative for Columbia Diagnostics Co., died Saturday (May 12, 2001).

Gillen
FORSYTH -- Robert L. "Bob" Gillen, 76, of Forsyth died 6:19 p.m. Monday (May 14, 2001) in his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North Funeral Home with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials: Forsyth United Methodist Church.
Mr. Gillen was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Forsyth, the son of Emery and Percie Hazelrigg Gillen. He was a retired assistant manager for Cousin Fred's Store and formerly worked for Sunshine Dairy. He was a member of Forsyth United Methodist Church and a former village board member for the Village of Forsyth, having served on the original board of the village. He was a former volunteer fireman for Hickory Point Fire Protection District. He married Doris N. Koontz Aug. 20, 1944.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Judy Shaw of LaSalle; son, Steve Gillen and wife Treva of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Betty Johnson and husband Willard of Forsyth; granddaughters, Michelle Shaw of Atlanta, Ga.; Christie Shaw of Chicago; Katy Gillen and Karrie Gillen, both of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gary Robert Gillen.

Morthland
DECATUR -- Richard F. Morthland, 78, of Decatur died 8:25 a.m. Sunday (May 13, 2001) in his home.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. J.J. Moran & Sons is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: DMH Home Health & Hospice Services or St. James Restoration Fund.
Richard was born May 26, 1922, in Decatur, the son of Martin E. and Luella Fletcher Morthland. He was a 1943 graduate of Millikin University and a 1948 graduate of University of Illinois School of Law. He was partner for many years in the law firm of Morthland and Morthland. He practiced law in Decatur for 50 years. He was the president of Decatur Bar Association 1984-85, a member of American Legion Castle Williams Post 105 and an
Army veteran, serving in the European Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He married Ruth Brinkoetter June 24, 1943, in Fort Sill, Okla.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Suzanne B. Boehm and husband Edward of Decatur; brother, Donald W. Morthland of Decatur; sister, Marilyn Shroyer and husband Donald of Decatur; grandchildren, Nick Boehm of Springfield; Lindsey Boehm of Decatur; faithful secretary of many years, Margel Amenda.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Richard F. Morthland Jr.

DECATUR -- Myrtle Walton, 88, of Decatur died 10:50 a.m. Tuesday (May 15, 2001) in the Moweaqua Nursing Center.

Mrs. Walton was born Jan. 26, 1913, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Peel. She was a member of East Park Baptist Church. She married Homer Walton in 1952. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Jim White and wife Donna of Decatur; Thomas White and wife Bernadine of Decatur; daughter, Doris White of Decatur; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Martha; three brothers and one sister.

DECATUR -- Ruby Mae Steward, 66, of Decatur departed this life Saturday (May 12, 2001) in her home.
Services will be noon Friday in New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Tyrone Oldham officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: New Salem Baptist Church.
Ruby was born May 16, 1934, in Beecher City, to the union of William and Ruth Henry White. Ruby was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Louis Steward in 1953. To this union five children were born. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Surviving are her son, Frederick Steward of Decatur; Michell Steward of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter, Joan Ann Steward, Carol Steward and Sheila Steward, all of Decatur; sisters, Betty Macke of Kansas City, Kan.; Mary Golden of Decatur; Virginia "Glenda" Dalton of Arthur; brothers, Bill (Joyce) White of Winchester; Jimmy (Donna) Golden of Effingham; sisters-in-law, Elnora Risby of Decatur; Essie (Ron) Love-Parker, Jessie Love and Mattie Smith, all of Decatur; grandchildren, Jason and Dean Steward, Timothy Bass, Kimberly Jackson, Takia Green and one unborn grandchild; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and grandparents.

TUSCOLA -- Anna J. Baker, 96, of Champaign, formerly of Tuscola, died 10:47 p.m. Monday (May 14, 2001) in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, with the Rev. Clyde Snyder officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday with 7:45 p.m. Rebekah services. Mrs. Baker was born July 5, 1904, in Tuscola, the daughter of William and Ollie Snider Pigg. She was a homemaker and formerly worked for the University of Illinois Illini Union Catering Department. She was a 60-year member of Tuscola United Methodist Church and member of the Order of Eastern Star Tuscola Chapter 44. She was a 75-year member of Triumph Rebekah Lodge 410 in Champaign and member of Royal Neighbors of America Urbana Camp 352. She was active in Urbana Park District Geritol Gang Kitchen Band. She married Harry E. Baker July 15, 1937, in Covington, Ind. He died June 30, 1958.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Leger of Champaign; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Myrna Lynn Mullen; and two sisters, Edna Garrett and Ethel Mayer.
