DECATUR -- David Lawrence "Batman" Eddy, 66, of Decatur died Sunday (May 13, 2001) in his home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with Pastor Richard Scott officiating. Visitation was Tuesday. J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or David Eddy Memorial Fund.
David was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Bloomington, the son of Thomas L. and Luella A. Eddy. He retired from Spring Creek Towers and IBEW local 51 and was affiliated with Christ United Methodist Church. David was a saxophone player in Central Illinois for many years. His music and humor brought joy to many people. He married Marcie Aderman June 28, 1980, in Clinton.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Michael Henry Dieterich of Gridley; James David Dieterich; Daniel David Eddy and Timothy Lawrence Owen Eddy, both at home; twin brother, Daniel (Pat) Eddy of Florissant, Mo.; sister, Mildred (Albert) Arendt of Bloomington; grandson, Travis; extended family, Earl and Fern Aderman; Lanny (Renee) Aderman; Keith Aderman; June (Eric) Schmidt; Shelley (Bob) Pollock; Dwight (Shelley) Aderman; Laurie (David) Montgomery; Joyce (Larry) Webb; many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved and many friends.
He was preceded by his parents; two brothers, Thomas and Donald; and sister, Dorothy Lake.
He was a great husband, father, brother, friend and musician. We will miss him very much.
