A memorial Mass for Gabrielle A. Oelerich (nee Rudolph), 81, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fremont Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1917, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at home.
Survivors include her children, Donald (Mary Beth) of Silver Lake, Wis., Chris (Norine) of Arlington Heights, Jerry (Mary) of Mundelein, David of Dublin, Ohio, Julie Oeherich Stuebner of Naperville, Diane (Tim) Wright of Lansing, Mich., Jeanie Kirkeby of Claremont, Calif.
and Minh Baccia of Lindenhurst; brother, Ken (Lorraine) Rudolph of Rogers Park; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Sr.

Services for Philip C. `Kaiser' Rizzo of Schaumburg will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 1451 Bode Road, Schaumburg, with the funeral Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Rizzo was a decorated World War II veteran.
He was the loving cousin of Frances Giammarese, Peter Fantino, Mary Bottalla, Nina (Richard) Gdowski, Rosalie (Wally) Wisniewski, Sam (Lorrie) Fantino, Roger (Carla) Bottalla and Robert (Shelly) Bottalla.

Margaret D. Samuelson of Arlington Heights

Mrs. Samuelson was a member of the Arlington Heights Women's Club and St. James Catholic Church.
She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Samuelson; dear sister-in-law of Evelyn Miles of Arlington Heights; and fond aunt of Penny Gusel of Northlake, Holly Anson of Texas, Nancy Sachtjen of Algonquin, and William Ortlund Jr. of Niles.

Raymond A. Schorsch of Lakemoor

Born March 8, 1928, in Chicago, the son of Edmund and Rose M. C. (nee Oldenburg) Schorsch, he died Friday, July 16, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Formerly of Chicago, he was a resident of Lakemoor for the past 29 years. As a young man, Ray worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and later at Stiffel Lamp Company. For many years, he was employed as a truck driver for Plymouth Paper Company and Ladney Motors, both in Chicago.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, BettyJean (nee Bubb), whom he married on July 19, 1947, at First German Baptist Church in Chicago; loving daughter, Rita J. (Ron) Ross of Lake in the Hills; grandchildren, Ron Jr. (Maria) Ross of Lake in the Hills, Ryan Ross of DeKalb and Robb Ross of Lake in the Hills; great-grandson, Tristyn Nicholas Ross; sister-in-law, Evelyn Schorsch of Chicago; and numerous loving nieces and nephews and greatnieces and -nephews. Ray cherished his family and friends, and thought most caringly of all his neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth (late Frank) Fon; and brothers, Robert E. (late Violet) Schorsch and Henry H. Schorsch Sr.

Joan M. Shotola of St. Charles

Born March 21, 1935, in Chicago, she died Saturday, July 17, 1999, in her home.
A retired librarian, Mrs. Shotola generously volunteered at Garfield Farms and the Brookfield Zoo and was also a literacy volunteer. She had been honored as salutatorian in the Class of 1957 at the University of Illinois and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Gene) Erisman of Franklin Grove, Steven (Pamela) Shotola of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Scott (Kimberly) Shotola of Pearland, Texas; grandchldren, Johnathon and Patricia Cook, Steven and Sarah Shotola and Karalee Shotola; sisters, Arlene (Donald) Reiter of St.
Charles and Janet Moore of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Ralph `Frank' Spaulding of Wheaton
Visitation for Ralph `Frank' Spaulding, 63, will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
He died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in Camp Butler, Springfield.
Mr. Spaulding had been a resident of Wheaton for 20 years. As a commander in the Navy, he served for years in the Pacific and later volunteered for the Vietname War where he received the Purple Heart. He finished his 20 years of service in the Naval Reserves. Mr. Spaulding was also a 30-year employee of Household Finance, retiring in 1996 as vice president of employee benefits.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Patricia Spaulding; children, Matthew and Steven Spaulding and Nehal (Cathy) Bokhari; grandchildren, Christopher, Adam and Kyle Bokhari; and sister, Priscilla (Gordon) Hill of Florida.

Bess A. Spencer of St. Charles
Services for Bess A. Spencer, 90, will be held at 10 a.m. today, at YursWittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva. Rev. Steve Miller will officiate.
Born Aug. 16, 1908, in Cicero, she died Friday, July 16, 1999, at Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. Private burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Stickney.
At the time of her retirement, Bess was employed by the Schoen-McAllister Department Store in Berwyn.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Roy; son, Richard (Eve) Spencer of Geneva; grandchildren, R. Scott (Kathe) Spencer and Susan Spencer; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan and Adam; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services today, at the funeral home.
Elisabeth Taylor of Arlington Heights
A Eucharistic Mass for Elisabeth Taylor, 98, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Simon Episcopal Church, 717 W. Kirchoff Rd., Arlington Heights.
Born April 2, 1901, in St. Louis, Mo., she died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at Church Creek Nursing Center. Interment will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, Kan.
Retired from the U. S. State Department Foreign Service, she was stationed in Spain, Uruguay and Mexico. She was coowner of Silver Shuttle Weaving Shop in Georgetown, Washington, D. C. and past member of the North Shore Weavers Guild. She volunteered many hours at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, the Elgin Deanery Hispanic Ministry Commission, the Arlington Heights Historical Society Museum and Clearbrook Children Services. Miss Taylor taught ESL students and was a member of St. Simon's Church Choir.
She was the aunt of Harriet L. Mueller; daughter of the late Edgar and Ethel McNamarra Taylor; and sister of the late Sarah Taylor Leavitt.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of the Mass Tuesday, at the church.

Thomas E. Ventress of Des Plaines
A service of remembrance for Thomas E. Ventress, 74, will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at the Cutting Hall Theater, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine.
Born Oct. 31, 1924, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.
Mr. Ventress was an avid fan of musicals and classic American playwrights. Active on both sides of the footlights, he directed and performed in more than 300 shows, mostly in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Recently he directed `Wait Until Dark' and `Cinderella' in Palatine, and was seen as the grandfather in Elgin's `Night of the Iguana' and as Scrooge in the popular Christmas show at White Pines.
He was the dear brother of Joyce (Milton) Shepard and the late Barbara Kling; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
