Born Sept. 23, 1920, in Marshall County, Ala., he died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at Elmhurst Hospital. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside.
He was the husband of the late Carmela Head (nee Frederik); father of Ronald (Susie) Head and Susan Head; and grandfather of Ron and Jason.

A Vietnam veteran, he was the beloved husband of Virginia (nee Harman); loving father of Shelly Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Amanda Lewis and Brittany Lewis; devoted son of Richard and the late Mary McCotter; and dear brother of Robert, Susan (Roy) Handler, Thomas (Therese) and Paul (Sally).

Mac was a veteran of the
Korean War and a graduate with high honors of Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. His career in property insurance began with 10 years at Industrial Risk Insurers and continued with 30 years at Kemper Insurance Company, until his retirement in 1995. In appreciation of a lifelong affiliation, Mac leaves the bulk of his earthly goods to Catholic Charities of Chicago.
He was the dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth Legan; fond uncle of Joseph Legan; and great-uncle of Cody Legan of El Dorado, Calif.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Neal Nolte of East Dundee
Services for Neal Nolte, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
Born Feb. 8, 1926, in West Dundee, to Edwin and Erna (nee Duewel) Nolte, he died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin. Burial will be in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
Mr. Nolte was a lifelong resident of the Dundee area and a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee. He was a former, 42-year employee of Haeger Pottery in East Dundee, retiring in 1988. A veteran, he had served in the Navy during World War II and was a former member of the Dundee VFW #2298. He was also a former volunteer East Dundee firefighter and a longtime member of the `Guth Street Bean Bag League. ' Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Shirley Kleinschmidt Nolte, whom he married Sept. 13, 1947; son, David (Kathleen) Nolte of East Dundee; grandson, Jason, of Lake in the Hills; brother, James (Dorothy) Nolte of Carpentersville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruth Westerman.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Born in Madison, Minn., she died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A retired bookkeeper, she was a charter member of the Elk Grove Seniors Center, member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church and 25-year volunteer at Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Harland Nesset (1945) and the late Andrew B. Pfister (1976); mother of Dr. Rollo J. (Tommie) Nesset and Nancy E. (Robert) Walker; sister of Elsie Anderson; grandmother of Deborah (James) Empey, Stephen Nesset, Mary (Greg) Mischel, Nena Nesset, Anna Nesset, Jonathan Nesset, Donald (Faith) Walker and Brian Walker; and great-grandmother of Michael and Caryn Nesset and Taylor Empey. She is also survived by her devoted caregiver, Mila.

Bernard G. Reiser of Hampshire
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard G. Reiser, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Hampshire. Rev. Thomas E. Brantman will officiate.
BornMarch 10, 1911, in Hampshire, the son of Joseph and Anna (nee Boxleitner) Reiser, he died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at Sherman West Court in Elgin. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Bernard farmed for many years in the area before joining Northern FS of Hampshire. He delivered fuel oil and gas for FS to many area farms for more than 35 years working well into his 80s. He also loved to dance and enjoyed visiting at church and community gatherings. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Golden Agers, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Hampshire-Burlington Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his brothers, Alfred Reiser of Burlington and Wilbur (Josie) Reiser of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Marcella (Ed) Baumgartner of Montello, Wis. and Doris (Don) Williason of Clarksville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma, on Dec. 23, 1987, whom he married on Feb. 27, 1937, in Hampshire; brothers, William, Edward and Ralph Reiser; and sister, Anna Grollemond.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, with a rosary at 5:15 p.m.

Dorothy C. Richardson of Elgin
Services for Dorothy C. Richardson, 88, formerly of Knoxville and Galesburg, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Grace Episcopal Church, Galesburg. Rev. W. J. Barnds will officiate.
Born Sept. 7, 1910, in Galesburg, the daughter of Frank and Augusta (nee Johnson) Carlson, she passed away Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She graduated from Galesburg Senior High School and Brown Business College. She was a memberof Grace Episcopal Church and St. Margaret's Guild. She lived in Knoxville from 1965 until 1985, Galesburg from 1985 until 1996 and Elgin from 1996 until 1999.
Survivors include her son, Robert K. Richardson of Mequon, Wis.; daughter, Linda (Thomas) Youngren of West Dundee; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at Hinchcliff-Pearson West Funeral Home, Galesburg.

George R. Riley of Bartlett

Born July 14, 1923, in Walnut Grove, Mo., he died Wednesday, July, 14, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center. Cremation will be private.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW Post 5151 and American Legion Post 1212.
He was the husband of Sarah Riley (nee Guccione); father of George Jr. (Joan) Riley of Streamwood and Michael (Susan) Riley of Mundelein; grandfather of Renee Seibert, Dan Riley and Michele (Tom) Pierce; great-grandfather of Taylor and Samantha Pierce; son of the late Ked and Marilu (nee Martin) Riley; and brother of the late Weldon, Thomas, Bill, Floyd and Elsie.

David Frederick Schmid of Naperville
A Mass of Christian Burial for David Frederick Schmid, 76, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville. The Rev. William Donnelly will officiate.
Born June 3, 1923, in Dubuque, Iowa, he died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Edward Hospital. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton.
Mr. Schmid was a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque and received his master's degree from the University of Iowa. A veteran, he served in the
Army Air Force during World War II. In 1951 Mr. Schmid started teaching in Fox Lake and later was the superintendent of Grant High School in Fox Lake until1963.
He became a resident of Naperville in 1966 and worked as a consultant with Illinois School Consulting Service of Naperville. From 1984 to 1997 he was a partner with Associated Municipal Consultants, retiring in 1997 for health reasons. Mr. Schmid was an active member of St. Raphael Church, where he was a Eucharistic minister and also involved in the cursillo movement, the RCIA and prison ministry. He enjoyed family activities and card playing, especially bridge. His family will especially remember the recent celebration of the Schmids' 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner party at the White Eagle Club.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sarah Schmid of Naperville; children, David J. (Rachel) Schmid of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Schmid of Yorkville, Mary (Richard) Biegel of Naperville, Jane (Jon) Williams of Landisville, Pa., and Cathy (Dave) Wehrli of Yorkville; grandchildren, Margaret (Martin) Layding, David M., Sarah C., Rachel, Roger C. and Randell Schmid, John and Katie Biegel, Sarah, Mary and AnnieWilliams, and Michael and Daniel Wehrli; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Matthew Layding; and niece, Susan Stern of Moline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and O'Linda Schmid; brother, Roger Schmid; and sister, Susanne Gilligan.
