Charles A. Blankenburg formerly of Downers Grove
Services for Charles A. Blankenburg, 87, of Fredericksburg, Texas since 1977, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, Inc., 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
Born on Nov. 18, 1911, he died Monday, July 12, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Wheaton Cemetery, Wheaton.
Charles was raised in Downers Grove and graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1929. He studied accounting in night school and obtained his CPA at the age of 23. He went to work for an audit company that would eventually merge with the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, and he became a partner in that firm in 1942. In 1950 he was transferred to a new office opening in Houston, Texas. Charles was a managing partner in Houston until his retirement in 1976, after 46 years of service. In 1977 he and his wife Mardelle fell in love with, and moved to, Fredericksburg.
He is survived by his brother, Fred Blankenburg; two nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mardelle, in November 1993.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the services, Friday, at the funeral home.

Grace Burkamp of Elk Grove Village
Prayers for Grace Burkamp (nee Battaglia), 83, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. (three blocks south of Biesterfield Rd.), Elk Grove Village. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Julian Eymard Church.
Born in Chicago, she died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Fred E. Sr., he preceded her in death in 1976; mother of Fred (Patti) Burkamp; daughter of the late Carl and Antoinette (nee Buttacavoli) Battaglia; sister of Ann (late Ello) Wagoner, and the late Mike (Theresa), Jack (Jill), Sam (Katherine) Battaglia, Josephine (Joseph) Pontrelli, Mildred (Guy) Cucci and Rose (Bill) Smith; and grandmother of Brian and Lindsay Burkamp.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
Richard E. Churchill of Streamwood
Services for Richard E. Churchill, 73, will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday, at Grace Lutheran Church, 780 S. Bartlett Road, Streamwood.
The Rev. James Schroeder will officiate.
Born July 8, 1926, in Portage, Wis., he died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Hoffman Estates. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Mr. Churchill had been a resident of Streamwood for 40 years and was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church.
He was retired after 35 years of service for Jewel Food Stores. He was also a Marine Corps veteran.
He was the beloved husband of Lorraine Churchill (nee Small); loving father of Bonnie (Ralph) Pennington, Sandy (Henry) Baumhardt, Marcy (Steve) Tobler and Susan Churchill; proud grandfather of Paul (Shanon) Pennington, Nancy Pennington, Jeremy Baumhardt, Sara Tobler and Adam Tobler; cherished son of the late Alice Kaul and Harold Winston Churchill; and the dear brother of Shirley Hipsher, Donna Esposito, and the late David Kaul.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 485 S. Bartlett Road, Streamwood, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

Donald L. Clute of Elgin
Memorial services for Donald L. Clute, 75, will be held at 7 p.m. today, at Epworth United Methodist Church. Dr. Thomas Potenza will officiate.
Born June 22, 1924, in Oneonta, N. Y., the son of George and Angeline Clute, he died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital. Private interment willbe in Washington Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery
in Elgin.
A resident of Elgin most of his life, he served as Kane County Auditor for 24 years, retiring in 1988. He then worked as a legislative aid for Delores Doederlein, Steven Rauschenberger and Doug Hoeft.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Air Force in England, he was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and former member of the Elgin Jaycees and Elgin Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret; daughter, Candace (Jerry) Nering of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sons, David (Christine) Clute of Bailey, Colo. and Richard Clute of Elgin; and grandsons, Daniel and Patrick Clute.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at the time of the services only.

Craig Anthony Colletti of West Dundee
Services for Craig Anthony Colletti, 10, will be held at 10 a.m. today, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 100 Hanson Rd., Algonquin.
Born March 6, 1989, in Park Ridge, he died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at Fairview University Children's Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn., following a courageous battle with Blackfan diamond anemia. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.
A resident of the Dundee area for the past eight years, Craig attended Highland School in West Dundee and was very much looking forward to being a fourth grader in the fall. He was a member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church of Algonquin.
He is survived by his loving parents, Robert E. and Patricia (nee Calcagno) Colletti of West Dundee; brother, Robby, at home; maternal grandmother, Rose Calcagno of Des Plaines; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Calcagno; paternal grandparents, George and Ethel Colletti; and cousin, Ryan Milinkovich.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the services today, at the church.

Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Chicago, she died Monday, July 12, 1999, at Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Joanne was a school teacher, former president of the American Association of University Women, and a member of the Theta Alpha sorority at Loyola University.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Richard (Theresa), Robert, Kathleen and Karen; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Jendreau, and Timothy and Lauren Cordes.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

John R. Crawford of Arlington Heights

Born April 29, 1920, in Boston, Mass., he died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
Mr. Crawford had retired in 1990 from UOP, Johnson Division, where he had worked as a chemical engineer. For many years he had been an avid handball player and continued to play bridge two or three times every week.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruthmary Crawford (nee Heffernan), whom he married May 2, 1943; daughters, Janet (Dick) Telvickof Madison, Wis., Susie (Terry) Layton of Long Grove, Nancy Crawford of Chicago and Linda (Kirk) Schneider of Crystal Lake; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Crawford of Wheeling.

Gerald P. Culm of Wayne
A memorial Mass for Gerald P. Culm, 56, formerly of Palatine, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles. Monsignor Robert B. Hoffman will be officiating.
Born April 22, 1943, in Chicago, to Robert and Julia (nee Strzalka) Culm, he died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at his home.
An attorney, Mr. Culm served as trust counsel at Northern Trust Company in Chicago, where he was employed for the last eight years. Prior to joining Northern Trust Company, he held the position of general counsel at Continental Illinois Bank since 1967. Gerald received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. He also received a master's degree in taxation from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles, the American Bar Association, the Fox Valley Estate Planning Group and the Fox Valley Notre Dame Alumni Club.
Survivors include his wife, Joan (nee Haas); daughter, Sheila (Greg) Klostermann of Arlington Heights; son, Geoff (Alice) Culm of Arlington Heights; and grandson, Sean of Arlington Heights.
Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva.

Ted Czarnik formerly of Park Ridge
A funeral Mass for Ted Czarnik, 72, of Juneau, Wis., will be held at 10 a.m. today, at St. Raymond Church, Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Lincoln Street, Mount Prospect.
Born Dec. 22 1926, in Chicago, he died Monday July 12, 1999, in Niles.
Ted was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Park Ridge VFW Post #3579. He was a retired buyers representative for Zenith Electronics and was a member of theZenith Pioneers.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Czarnik (nee Koch); children, Caroline (Robert) Pierski of Niles and Jeanette (John) Blunda of Mount Prospect; and grandchildren, Kimberly, Thomas and Kristen Pierski, and Michael and Andrea Blunda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline (Roger) Allen and George Czarnik; and brothers, Jacob and Matthew Czarnik.

Mrs. Gerrity died Saturday, June 12, 1999, in Spokane. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years with the Chicago Board of Education.
She was the wife of the late Vincent J.; mother of Patricia Ann Gerrity King of Sagle, Idaho; grandmother of A. Bruce Kingof Post Falls, Idaho, Cathy P. King of Deer Park, Idaho and Julia A. King of Sagle, Idaho; sister of Mary Kelly of University Heights, Ohio, Betty Heidenson of Spokane, Wash. and Phillip J. Hogan of Lake Bluff; and aunt of numerousnieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Thomas Hogan; brothers, Dr. William J. Hogan and Thomas F. Hogan; and sister, Margaret O'Brien.
